chapter 25 | homecoming

"OKAY, WHAT DO YOU THINK?" Alex turned around, showing his outfit to Olivia. "Alex! You look amazing!" She huffed.

"I know." He smirked making her roll her eyes. "Come on, lets show everyone." She took his arm and dragged him to the living room where everybody was.

"Okay, eyes on me. How fly are my vintage threads for the dance?" Alex said, spinning around.

"Papito you look so handsome in your abuelo's outfit." Lydia smiled.

"who did you decide to go with?" Penelope asked. "This older girl, Emma. She's older." Alex smirked.

"Yeah, a little too old." Olivia scoffed. Alex pinched her stomach making her shriek as she sent him a glare.

"By two months." Elena said. "Okay, well, she had an epic big ask." Alex said.

"It is not polite to talk about your girlfriend's fundilo, no matter how big it is." Lydia scolded. Olivia smiled as she tried to hold in her laughter.

"Nooo, Abuelita 'big ask'. It's the way kids invite each other to dances now." Alex explained.

"Its a whole obnoxious performance. I am so glad syd is homeschooled and not into this stuff." Right after Elena said that, Syd knocked on the door as penelope opened it. "Oh hey Syd. What's happening?" She frowned.

"I don't know, but I think Syd is wearing their grandpa's outfit too." Alex joked. Olivia chuckled before hitting his arm jokingly.

Syd took a chair for Elena to sit down as she played a song on the speaker. Everyone watched as she performed her 'big ask' for Elena.

"Will you go to the dance with me?" Syd asked. Elena squealed, hugging Syd while everyone stare with big smiles on their faces.

"what? but i thought you said-" Alex said.

"shut up!" Elena yelled before turning back to Syd.

"Livi? What about you? Who are you going with?" Penelope asked.

"uh, im not going for the homecoming this year." She chuckled slightly.

"what? why not?"

"because no one asked her to the dance-" Alex yelped as the redhead slapped the back of his head.

"its not that, I just, don't feel like going this year you know." She shrugged.

"alright.." Penelope nodded slowly. "anyways im going back to my room and change. you coming?" Alex asked Olivia.

"Yeah, I'll just grab a glass of water first." She said. He nodded and headed back to his room.

"something tells me that you are lying." Penelope said making the redhead sigh.

"You sure no guys has asked you out yet? Because here shows that you have 6 guys asking you to the homecoming?" Elena said as she looked through Olivia's phone. Livi snatched it away from her hand and rolled her eyes jokingly.

"Hey, whats wrong pelliroja?" Lydia asked the redhead, sitting next to her on the couch.

"why did he have to ask her? I mean im right here, hello! Just ask me to the homecoming!" She groaned.

"Hey, its okay. If he wants to go with someone else then let him. You have to be happy for your best friend. And you have multiple guys asking you to the homecoming, why not just go with them?" Penelope said.

"Because I don't like them the way i like Alex."Olivia said. Everyone just gave her a smile.

"you know what, its fine. I'll just go home and continue to watching all my harry potter movies and eat a whole bucket of ice cream." The redhead said, nodding to herself. She said her goodbyes to everyone before leaving the apartment and going to her own.

She really wanted to go to the dance with Alex and was hoping for him to ask her to it. Maybe it was her fault that she didn't ask him earlier..

"Ron, you're so stupid for not asking Hermione to that dance!" Olivia mumbled to herself, taking a huge spoon of ice cream in her mouth.

Someone suddenly knocked on the door making the redhead jump slightly. She groaned to herself as she opened the door, seeing all four of her best friends standing there with smiles on their faces.

"you guys, what are you doing here? Aren't you suppose to be at the homecoming?" She asked, confused.

"Well, we couldn't let our Livi be stuck alone in her apartment grieving over the fact that her  crush didn't ask her to the homecoming." Charlotte said.

"What?? I dont have a crush." She laughed but immediately stopped once she saw the looks on her best friends faces. "That obvious huh?" They nodded.

"you guys dont have dates too?" She asked.

"no, we do, but dont worry. We bought someone with us." Sophia said, smiling. They moved to the side, revealing Henry holding flowers in his hands.

"Henry? What are you-"

"I'm here to ask you to the homecoming." He smiled. "Henry..thats sweet but-"

"wait! I know what you're thinking and no, i dont like you like that. I was thinking if we could just go as friends?" He said. Olivia smiled as she nodded.

"kinda weird that my best friend is going to the homecoming with my brother but I'll let it slide. for now." Bianca shrugged and everyone laughed.

"Ill go get dressed." She smiled before going to her room and getting ready. (the dress i picked for her is on the top)

"wow, I can't lie its not that bad." Olivia said once she entered the homecoming room.

"tell me about it."  Bianca said.

She spotted Alex taking pictures with his date and she sighed. "wanna dance?" Henry put out his hand which she gladly accepted.

He twirled him around making her giggle. "So.." He started. "Hm?"

"When are you gonna tell Alex that you have feelings for him?" Henry asked, twirling her around once more.

"Oh you know, when I'm lucky, probably in the afterlife." She shrugged. Henry gave her a look which only made her sigh. "I don't know.. I just..i dont want to ruin our friendship. And besides that, he might not even feel the same way about me." Olivia said.

"of course he would. I mean look at you, you're really pretty, you're smart. People love you." Henry complimented which made her smile. "Thanks. But i don't think i should confess to him now. Its too early." She said and he nodded.

"mind if i step in?" Penelope asked Henry. "no, not at all!" He said as he went off to his other friends.

"so, you came." She smirked. "Yeah, I had some friends that helped me." Olivia said, looking at her four best friends who were each dancing with a guy.

"thats great livi. And what about Henry?"

"what about him?" Livi raised her brows. "do you like him?" Penelope asked.

"what? no, no, of course not. We only came here as friends and he even made it super clear." Olivia laughed.

"Im glad youre happy." Penelope said, putting her hand on the younger girl's cheek and smiled widely at her.

"I'm going to get a drink. You want one?" Livi asked and she nodded. She went over to the stands and pour her and Penelope a cup of fruit punch.

"I can't believe that guy Alex thinks i like him." Someone said. This caught Olivia's attention and she couldn't help but eavesdrop in her conversation.

"I'm only with him so that i could make Travis jealous." The girl laughed. Olivia could already tell who it was by the voice.

"Travis Aarons? Really? Alex is way better than stupid Travis Aarons." Olivia thought.

She looked around the room, trying to spot Alex. She saw him sat at a table. She took this as an opportunity to go tell him about about what this Emma bitch said.

Alex noticed her coming his way and got up from his chair. "Livi, I didn't think you came. You look amazing!" He smiled.

"Thanks. But uh, I need to talk to you." She gulped. "Sure, whats wrong?" He asked.

"Its about your date, Emma."
"What about her?"

"I overheard her talking with her friends. She said she only went to this homecoming with you cause' she wanted to make Travis Aarons jealous. " She explained.

Alex took a minute to process everything before talking again, "wow.."

"look Al, she isn't worth i-"
"I can't believe how jealous you are." Alex scoffed.

"Im sorry what?"
"You're just making this up because you're jealous arent you? I know I didn't ask you out for the homecoming but you didn't need to be this mad about it." Alex shook his head.

Olivia's jaw dropped. She scoffed loudly, not knowing what to say and no words came out of her mouth. She glared at him before walking away to where Henry and the rest were.

"What's wrong?"

"I don't want to talk about it." She said blankly. She couldn't believe that her own best friend could possibly think of her like that. Its like she has him brainwashed or something.

After a few minutes of dancing and talking with her friends, Olivia was slowly getting tired. She had a long day especially about the whole Alex situation and she wanted to go home and sleep.

Before she could leave, someone grabbed her hand. "Livi, I need to-"

"What are you gonna say this time? That I'm such a bitch? I'm too of a jealous person? I take away your happiness blah blah?" She said.

"No, none of that. I wanna say I'm sorry. I really am Livi. You were right. You were right about everything. And if you still want to be mad after this, then go ahead but I just want to say that Im sorry." Alex said, his eyes filled with guilt.

Olivia face soften, she sighed knowing that she couldn't stay mad at him for long. "Its okay, I forgive you." She pulled him in for a hug as he wrapped his arms around her waist.

"what do you say, Alvarez?" She pulled away from the hug. "wanna dance?" She pulled out her hand and he laughed, nodding.

The two teens went on the dance floor and danced to the song. Olivia could see Penelope, Elena and her friends looking at her with a smile on their faces across the halls as they danced too. Elena gave her a thumbs up and laughed.

"Hey, you wanna get out of here and get some ice cream?" Alex suggested. "sure. I can never say no to ice cream." She said.

"Wait, before we go, let me do something real quick." She said. Alex frowned in confusion on what she was talking about. Olivia went over and grabbed a glass of fruit punch as she walked over to Emma who was talking with Travis.

She dumped the fruit punch on Emma causing her to gasp. "Never mess with my best friend , bitch." She snapped, dropping the cup on the floor.

"You bitch!" Emma cried out as she ran off to the bathroom with Travis trailing behind her. Everyone laughed at the scene going on as they clapped and started cheering.

"Woo! Go Livi!" Henry yelled out.

"Wow. That was so badass!" Alex exclaimed making the girl laugh. "Now come on, lets get out of here." She took him by the hand and dragged him out.

okay ngl i kinda wanted them to kiss in this chapter but i feel like its too early? I KNOW THERE ARENT MANY ROMANTIC SCENES YET but it might take some time as my book has a different story to it. ANYWAYS I HOPE YALL ENJOY THIS CHAPTER☝️
(also i know that i didnt write the other two episodes, cause i didnt know what to write for those 😭)
