Chapter 6

One night, when Shi was asleep. I took over and went out of the palace. I need to finish some things before I totally disappear.

Lifting my hand, I melted the glacier holding my creation. Gently, I woke it up.

It opened its eyes revealing a mismatched pair. One eye is blue and the other is gold. I smiled albeit a little sad. At least I can leave something for Yan Da.

Concentrating on my energy, I focused it on the cub. I need to make sure that no one will be able to destroy or kill it. I also imbedded a ring on its left chest. The one that Shi made.

I don't know why but something was telling me that it was meant for Yan Da. That someday the two of them will meet and will have a stronger bond than us.

I hope so. I knew that the two of them would be good together.

One last push of energy and I'm done. I took a deep breath. Tomorrow is Yan Da's birthday. I will give it to her then.

Tomorrow came, I woke up early. Hm? How about Shi? I kind of knocked him out. It's just for today so that I get to say good bye at least. After spending time with mom and hugging her one last time, I left to the mortal realm. I know that Yan Da would be there already. I could feel it from the bracelet she's wearing.

Oh, I forgot to mention that didn't I. The bracelet I gave her is no ordinary one. I especially made it so that only her could wear it. It will also protect her in case of extreme danger. A matter of life and death situation that is.

Entering, our secret place. I saw her sleeping under one of my cherry blossom trees. She looks really peaceful. I guess I have to let her sleep for an hour. It's too early anyway. I'm sure that the people of Hanabi are still asleep too.

So, I quietly sat beside her. Watching her sleep and memorizing her features. I blinked, trying to stop the tears in my eyes from falling. I'm really going to miss her.

I gasped, diverting my eyes away from her. I could feel my heart throbbing in pain. Honestly, the thought of leaving her hurts so much. I couldn't breathe.

I closed my eyes, making the tears fall. Suddenly, I felt soft thumbs brushing them away. Opening my eyes, I saw Yan Da wide awake. Worriedly, looking at me.

Grasping her wrist, I pulled her into my arms hugging her tightly. No one said anything. She just let me hold her. And I just held her, crying on her shoulder.

After I calmed down, we went to the village of Hanabi. This time we mingled with the people in there. We even let them teach us on how to make fireworks with various designs. Mine was well... guess... ding ding ding. Yes, cherry blossoms of course. My favorite flower.

I then brought Yan Da to a hairpin designer. She protested but I insisted. The designer made three new hairpins for her. Before giving it to her though, I made sure to infuse some of my energy on them. After that, we went to other villages too. Though, we avoided the four main tribes that are allies of my kingdom.
