Sydney's POV

"Sure...I'll hang out with you tomorrow". I said trying to sound happy.

Joeys face lit up with a smile,
"Okay, let's go out to eat. Maybe Wendy's?".

"Yeah..sure". I said with a little smile.

"Okay, I'll pick you up tomorrow at 1:30. Bye Syd!". Joey said while getting up and walking away as he waved at me.

"Bye...". I said waving back.

I headed back to finish gym practice and I got a text from my mom,
Mom: Hey sweetie, meet me out in the front. I'm going to take you and Luke out to dinner at Applebee's.
Sydney: Okay, I'll be there in about five minutes.

I slipped my clothes over my Leo and grabbed my stuff then headed to the car.

"Hey Syd, how was practice?". My mom asked while turning on the car.

"It was ok, could have been better".

I looked behind me to see Luke asleep, he also had puffy eyes.

I tapped moms shoulder,
"Hm?". mom asked.
"Is Luke ok?".
She shook her head,
"Nope, he's really sad about this. He and I talked all day about Caleb. All he did was cry today".
"Oh.." I said while turning around back to face the front.

As we reached into Applebee's we all sat down in a booth and actually spent time together as a family. This actually made my day a lot more better.

As we were driving home I realized I still hadn't told mom about my plans with Joey.

"Hey mom, do you mind if I hangout with Joey after school tomorrow?".

"No not at all. Where are you guys going?".

"He said he's going to pick me up for us to go out for lunch at Wendy's".

"Oh okay, just remember. You have a curfew because the next day is Caleb's funeral".

"You had to remind me about that". I thought to myself.

"Of course". I said while looking out the window.

I looked at the stars and I wondered and thought about Caleb,
"It must be so nice up there ever since you've arrived Caleb..."
