Regret is such a short word... And yet it stretches on forever.

Sam's POV

"Hey baby" Mia said walking in my office. "The new girl visiting is so annoying! I wish you could tell her to just leave."

"Mia I told you a thousand times stop calling me baby. We are not a couple just friends with benefits nothing more. And next time don't walk into my office without knocking understood?" I replied pissed with how she's acting.

"You can leave if you have nothing important to say. I am busy with pack business."

She nodded her head and left.

"Mike tell the new girl visiting that I cannot meet her today. I will meet her tomorrow morning when I'm less busy." I mind linked him "And make sure to keep an eye on her from far. I don't want problems in the pack house. Mia is already acting jealous.

"Yes Alpha" Mike replied through the mind link.

The next day came by and I was already in my office working when Eli barged into the office. "Man this new girl Izzy is beautiful! Do you think I can have a chance with her?"

"Eli weren't you the one nagging you want a mate and you're waiting for your mate?"

"Yes but she's beautiful and sweet. She has everything I'm looking for in a girl. Any ways she's coming in a few minutes with Lily to introduce herself to you. Don't be mean." He said before leaving my office.

I heard them coming closer to my office door. My wolf was going crazy in my head. Thats when I smelled her outside my office and I knew she was the one. It confused me as I thought I will never know who my mate is.

•~Flashback~•

Many years ago, I decided to go see a witch, she was a family friend. I had asked her if she could help me not know who my mate is at all because I never wanted one. To find a way to hide me from her.

"Raven, it is so nice to see you again." I said hugging her. "I need a huge favor from you. Can you help me please?"

"What does the big bad Alpha want?" She teased me.

"I want you to hide me from my mate. I don't want her to ever find me and I don't even want to find her. Please can you cast a spell or something?" I asked

"You know son that what you are asking is against the moon goddess. She won't be happy with what you're asking."

I knew it was against the moon goddess but I wanted it so badly! I did not want a mate and all the problems that come with a mate.

So after making a deal with Raven, she casted a spell on me that hid my scent and every other feeling that comes with a mate like the sparks and the bond.

•~End of Flashback~•

I knew that I would never have a mate in my life and I was okay with it. It was what I always wanted until this moment.

I heard them knock on my door as I smelled the most intoxicating smell of strawberries and vanilla I knew she was mine. My wolf was stirring in my head all day and now he wants to claim her.

I couldn't even say come in. I felt a lump forming in my throat. I was worried she was going to recognize me as her mate. I don't know if I want that right now.

After the second knock I said "Come in"

I was struck by how beautiful she was. She was the most beautiful girl I've ever seen. She was more beautiful than what Eli described. Her tanned skin was glowing and her long brown hair was silky. I wanted to just slide my fingers through her hair and fall asleep in her arms.

She walked into the office and I saw her dressed in shorts showing her thin legs I couldn’t control myself as a growl escaped my mouth.

I felt our wolves connect because of the color in her eyes. Her eyes were the color green with sparks of gold in them. They were captivating.

At that moment I felt jealous of what Eli said, I felt jealous of every man thats been next to her. I wanted her, I wanted her to be mine and only mine.

After talking to her and asking her a few questions I dismissed her. But instead of just leaving she came close to my desk and picked out a few candy pieces from the bowl.

As she sucked on the candy, a moan escaped her mouth and I found myself wishing  she was moaning under me and for me. I decided no one is allowed to eat from this candy anymore so she could have as much as she wants.

Later on that day, as I thought, Mia started causing problems with her. They challenged each other to fight. When she kicked Mia’s ass on the field my heart swelled with pride. I knew she was a warrior in her pack but I didn't expect her to be this strong.

Eli my beta noticed it and asked why I was acting so strange around the new girl. I ignored his question.

“Is she your mate Sam?” he asked again.

“You know I can’t have a mate Eli stop with the stupid questions.” 

After the fight I saw her run into the forest with Lily.

"Mike, after dropping Mia to the pack doctor make sure you follow Isabella and Lily into the forest. I don't want any harm to come their way." I mind linked him. "Don't let them notice you" I added.

At night, I smelled her outside my office door, before she could knock i got up and opened the door for her.

She looked surprised as to why I asked for her, saying Eli told her to come here alone. I knew it was Eli’s doing to get me alone with her because I never asked for her to come to my office.

I didn’t know what to say as the first thing I noticed was she was dressed to go out.

“Where are you going dressed like this?” was all I said as jealousy clawed at my insides.

To fix it so I don’t sound so jealous I asked how she likes it in the pack so far. I mentally slapped my head for asking such a stupid question.

She looked so beautiful and hot that I couldn’t control myself or my wolf as we took in her scent. All I could think off was claiming her so no other male could look at her or think of her.

"I'm going clubbing with Lily and the Beta" she sounded so innocent.

When she said that I went crazy, I knew Eli was trying to get a reaction out of me.

"I'll be joining you then. Give me 10 minutes to change" was all I said before walking out of my office.

I was in a constant battle with my wolf from the moment I saw her. I worked so hard to build a pack alone without a Luna and then she shows up, in one second she destroys everything I worked so hard for.

Mia was just there to fulfill my manly needs nothing more. I had told and warned her many times to stop calling herself the Luna of the pack and I thought she stopped but apparently she didn’t.

When I heard Isabelle call her the temporary Luna with disgust in her voice I knew it was her wolf feeling the connection between us.

Mia showed up at the club even though I never told her where I was, probably someone told her maybe Eli to get a reaction out of me. 

She came and sat down on my laps. At that moment I looked at Isabelle and saw how tensed she looked. I decided to play along with Mia to see what her reaction would be.

Isabelle was apparently smarter as she too played my game and asked Eli to dance with her.

Seeing her body so close to Eli and his hands traveling all around her drove me and my wolf crazy. I’ve never felt so possessive of someone like this before. I tried ignoring the feeling I'm having but when their lips were about to touch I felt I was going to explode from jealousy as I dragged Isabelle to an empty office nearby.

In the office I couldn’t control myself as I showed her who was in charge here.

"I will show you nice and caring! I will drive you and your wolf crazy" I said while touching her. My wolf was dancing in my head at how close we were to our mate.

The smell of her arousal as I was touching her drove me to the edge. I was almost going to claim her when I felt her body start rocking against mine.

I snapped out of it at the last minute to prove to her she couldn’t be without me and to keep her wanting more.

“I’ll go to Eli to finish what you started” she said.

That sentence drove me wild; all I could see at that moment was red! I wanted to go end Eli for making me crave her like this and for touching what is mine.

Leaving her standing there I turned around to go beat up Eli when I heard her say “I’m waiting for my mate”. It was like music to my ears.

As soon as i heard that sentence my wolf submitted to her and I knew I have to fix the mistake I did years ago. I was going to find a way to make her mine again. To make the mate bond alive between us.

Once we got home I mind linked Eli to meet me in the office.

“Sup dude” Eli said as he walked into the office with a grin on his lips. I felt like ripping his head off for the stunt he pulled at the club.

“Leave Isabelle alone” I said in a harsh tone.

“You mean your mate?” he taunted with a smirk.

“Yes she’s my mate; leave her alone before I kill you for touching her”. 

“I won’t leave her alone until you claim her. I know you don’t want a mate and I don’t want you to push her away Sam. She's the perfect Luna for you and your pack.”

“You know she can’t sense I’m her mate because of what the witch did. I want to try and fix this before claiming her. I’m scared she won’t believe me when I tell here I’m her mate. I can’t bear being rejected by her.”

"Then go find the witch that casted the spell on you. Maybe she can find a way to reverse it." He said as he left the office and I headed upstairs to my bedroom.

Turning in the bed from side to side, I couldn’t sleep as my mind drifted to Isabelle and how beautiful her tanned skin would feel on my skin, and how her green eyes sparkle with specks of gold when they look at me.

I have one goal now which is to go find Raven and ask her to break the curse. Yes I call it a curse now because I definitely want a mate now. Having Isabelle beside me is worth whatever trouble comes with her.

It wasn't easy to write because I didn't want it to have a lot of repetition but at the same time I wanted you all to know what is going on in his head.

Every few chapters I will be writing his POV again to make things more clear from his side.
