Sams POV

“Rogues” I hate this word with all I have.

When I was younger, my dad left for business outside the pack lands. The Rogues found it as an opportunity to attack. I saw my own mother being ripped into pieces in front of me. From that moment on, I vowed to never let a rogue live if it crosses my borders.

My dad felt everything that happened with his mate. He went crazy after that moment. He turned into a cruel and heartless Alpha until he couldn’t take it anymore and killed himself.

That day I cursed the moon goddess and her ways with finding a mate for every wolf. So I decided to go against her and ask a witch for help.

I was selfish and arrogant for asking the witch to hide me from my mate. The witch warned me there was going to be a consequence for what I asked. A consequence coming from the moon goddess herself, one that I will surely regret in the future.

Being stubborn I agreed to whatever the witch said and now I’m starting to regret my decision.

“Eli, I’m leaving to go find the witch maybe she can help me with Isabelle. Mike will be going with me, so the pack is under your protection.” I said as I walked out of the pack house early in the morning.

I looked for two days straight for Raven and when I found her she told me she cannot reverse the spell.

She said “The moon goddess will find the right time to return your mate to you.”

"I'm sure there is a way Raven. Just cast a different spell. Do something" I pleaded with her.

"I'm sorry Sam but you knew there will be consequences and now I can't reverse the spell. The moon goddess will never allow it."

Angry I left Raven and headed back home. Frustration and rage was building inside of me all the way home.

As soon as I crossed the pack border I was welcomed by the most irritating news.

"Welcome back Alpha. We may have a problem" one of the pack warriors said.

"What is wrong Tom? Spit it out!" I said irritated

"Isabelle brought in two rogues yesterday. The female is in the pack hospital, and the male is in the cells. Eli put him there."

That’s when I saw red. I couldn’t control my anger anymore, my wolf wanted out.

I drove back to the pack house with Mike by my side. Anger was boiling in me and Mike seemed to notice.

"Alpha, she probably didn't mean anything. She is new and doesn't know the rules in this pack" he tried to reason with me.

"Mike, nobody is allowed to go against my word and Isabelle did that. She has to get punished. End of discussion" I spat.

As soon as I  parked outside the pack house many members came and said hello but I was waiting for a certain person.

Thats when I heard the beautiful voice I have been craving to hear for the past few days. But my anger took the best of me at the moment.

“Good morning Sam” she said so sweetly as if she didn't do anything wrong.

My wolf demanded respect in front of the pack. No one is allowed to call me with my name especially not a visitor. And since the moon goddess is still punishing me I will give her something more to punish me for. I flipped at Isabelle and I wanted the rogues she saved dead or out of my pack as soon as possible.

“I will leave with them…” she said and those words drove me and my wolf crazy.

The moon goddess was cruel for letting my mate choose rogues over me, for letting her challenge me like this.

My body started shaking with rage as I transformed and fought my mate. I hurt my soul mate, my second half.

"What the heck did you do Sam" Eli yelled at me.

I watched as her unconscious body was laying on the floor infront of me. I did this to her. I am evil. I lost control and almost killed my mate.

I transformed back into human and rushed to her side. I carried her gentle naked body and took her to the pack hospital.

While she was in the hospital I couldn’t sleep or think or do anything I was lost. I sat next to her bed and watched her sleeping figure.

"I'm so sorry love" I whispered as my eyes closed for a small nap.

The moment my eyes closed I saw her, the moon goddess. A beautiful goddess dressed in white with long silky hair flowing behind her. There was a glow around her, and an immense power surrounding her.

“I will let her find you at the next full moon Sam. But I’m not doing this for you; I’m doing it for her. She needs her mate next to her." The moon goddess said.

"Your actions will either be the rise of her or the fall of her. It’s all in your hands now Sam" the moon goddess added before I woke up from my short nap.

The next full moon is on the night of the ball. It’s the first time I’ll be going to one since it’s on my pack land.  I’m hoping that Isabelle will forgive me.

Her brother Chris came that day and was very upset that Isabelle fought with an Alpha. He threatened to take her back home. It was a threat to me but a command to my beautiful mate.

After talking about the rogue problem in my office I pulled Chris aside to talk to him.

“Chris I’m sorry for fighting with your sister. She is my mate but she can’t sense it yet until the full moon” I told him about everything else that happened with the witch and that Isabelle should be able to sense me at the full moon.

He got even more mad that I couldn’t control myself and snapped at his sister. He decided to not believe what I say until his sister confirms it.

He took her the next day and my wolf broke, he wanted his mate next to him. I kept on convincing myself and my wolf that she will be ours in two weeks.

The days were passing by quickly now, and I was worried about Isabelle. I had a nagging feeling that something happened to her. My wolf was howling in pain, he wants to be next to his mate.

“Lily come to my office, I need to talk to you” I mind linked. After a few minutes she comes in.

“Yes Alpha, how can I help you?

“Have you talked to Isabelle lately?” I asked

“No Alpha, I have been calling her but no one picks up. I spoke to her last week after I came back here, she told me that they started intensive training so I’m guessing maybe that’s why she hasn’t picked up lately. Maybe they are busy training.”

“Try calling now again please” I replied
After several rings no one picked up.

“Mind link Aiden to call Aileen and ask them if Isabelle is okay” I told her

After mind linking her mate there was a confused look on her face. Aiden came in the office and called his sisters phone. After several rings I was getting anxious, suddenly Chris voice came through the phone “Hey Aiden everything alright?”

“Yes everything is okay, how are you guys? Any news? Lily has been trying to get a hold of Izzy but she’s not picking up.” Aiden replied.

Chris sighed through the phone “We had an attack like the one that destroyed your pack. Everything is a mess Aiden”

Worry shot through me as I grabbed the phone from Aidens hands “Where is Isabelle is she okay??”

“Sam she’s fine, I have to go I will talk to you guys later to explain everything.”

“Don’t you dare hang up on me! I asked you where is Isabelle, answer me!” I used my Alpha voice on him. He had no other choice than to answer me now.

“She’s fine Alpha, she just woke up. She has been in a coma for a week now but everything is fine. You will see her in a few days at the ball” Chris sighed.

I dismissed Lily and Aiden as my body started to tremble, I needed blood I needed to kill or hit something.

I ran down to the cells and found the rogue we captured 2 days ago. I released all my anger on him.

"Clean up the mess" I told the guard, "burn whatever is left of his body" I said as I headed out of the cells and into the forest.
