The next day I woke up to loud screams coming from outside the house. The pack was a complete disaster. There were people yelling outside and children crying.

I ran downstairs quickly to see what was happening. I was shocked when I saw three of the warriors that were patrolling the border at night dead. They had no physical injury, they looked like they were sleeping but without a pulse.

“What is this? What happened here?” I asked a lump stuck in my throat.
I felt something was going to happen, I knew they were going to attack soon but not in this way.

“We found them like this five minutes ago" One of the guards said " the Alpha is on his way".

When Dan arrived I knew the look on his face. He was worried. He also knew this was some sort of warning. He knew we were going to get attacked anytime soon.

After taking the guards to the hospital to determine the cause of death, I went with Chris and Dan around the pack lands to check if there are more threats.

As we walked through the forest, the Air started turning gloomy. I could feel there is a strange power surrounding us.

“Do you guys feel that?" I asked in a low voice "I think we should head back and get ready. I feel they might attack anytime soon. The air around here feels suffocating” I whispered to Dan and Chris.

As if on cue five rogue wolves jumped in front of us snarling at us followed by two witches and one warlock.

To say they look scarey was an understatement. They were terrifying. The rogues smelled filthy and had red scarey eyes. The witches looked mean dressed in all black. The warlock on the other hand had a frightening aura around him. He was wearing a long black cloak with a black hood covering his face.

I mind linked the delta “Prepare for the fight now! They are here. Hide the kids and elderly.”

Something in me exploded with the presence of the witches. I felt an immense power grow inside and was clawing at me to be let out.

Chris and Dan transformed on the spot and charged at the rogues. Eyeing the witches I noticed they are casting a spell.

I attacked them in human form before they could hurt the others. To my surprise they tried spells on me but nothing happened. Whatever they were doing to me felt like the poking of small needles but I could handle it.

Their eyes widened in surprise when they saw I was not affected. I grabbed the first witch, as my claws elongated from my hands and I dug them in her neck ripping her neck out.

The second witch tried more spells but I wasn’t affected too as I ended her life on the spot. Dan was fighting two of the rogues at the same time while Chris was fighting one.

The other two rogues were already dead. I looked at the warlock and saw him smiling my way. That is when I noticed the scariest thing I have ever seen. His eyes were all black. He did not have a sclera(the white part in the eye), all he had was full black creepy eyes.

I watched him smirk my way and decided to attack him but to my surprise his powers were stronger than the other witches.

With just one look towards me I felt my body shaking from the pain. It felt like all my bones were cracking at the same time. I let out a loud scream because I couldn't control the pain or get away from his eye sight. I didn't know what was happening to me.

The warlock was too focused on me he didn't see Chris lunging at him. Chris attacked the warlock which made the pain leave my body quickly. I took this as a chance to transform into my wolf and attack the warlock too. Just as I transformed I searched for him but couldn't find him anywhere. He disappeared.

"Let's run back to the pack house" Dan mindlinked us.

We ran as fast as we can in wolf form. As we neared the pack house we saw a lot of injured wolves, a lot of rogues and witches still fighting. The witches were casting spells on the warriors which made them howl in pain.

Knowing that their magic will not affect me I ran and attacked the witches. I killed about four witches. When I was attacking the fifth witch, a rogue jumped at me and bit my neck deeply which let me howl in pain.

I started to taste the blood in my mouth and I knew the injury was deep.

“We can finish this” my wolf said “We are stronger than them” as she leaped and killed the rogue on the spot.

I let my wolf take full control as I laid back watching her do the fighting. After killing two more rogues and a witch, the witches and rogues started retreating.

I was more than exhausted as my wolf dropped to the floor covered in blood. I watched as the witches and rogues where disappearing deep in the forest.

The last thing I saw before I closed my eyes were full black eyes staring back at me from deep within the forest.

Hearing voices around me, I couldn’t open my eyes to see anything. I couldn’t even open my mouth to say something. I felt like something heavy was pulling me down.

“Isabelle if you can hear me try transforming back”

“Isabelle wake up please…”

All these voices I kept hearing but I couldn’t respond until I stopped hearing anything. It felt I got sucked into a dark space.

I see a beautiful tanned woman twirling and dancing on a field of white roses with her long dark hair flowing behind her like waves. Her eyes were sparkly green like my eyes and were filled with happiness. As if noticing me she stops dancing and stares at me with wide eyes.

“She’s moving her leg. Hurry call the doctor” I hear Aileens voice.

“Isabelle if you hear me can you transform back into human?” a strange voice said. I’m assuming it’s the doctor.

My wolf finally let go and gave me back control as I transformed back into my body. I felt someone run and cover me with a blanket.

Opening my eyes I was blinded by the light. When my eyes adjusted to the light I saw Aileen, Chris and a man in white coat I’m guessing the doctor standing above me.

“What are you guys doing?” my voice came out rough. Aileen ran to get me a cup of water

“Here drink some” she handed me the glass with a straw.

After gulping down the glass of water I felt my throat relax a little.

“Does your body hurt anywhere?” the doctor asked.

“I think it hurts everywhere doctor, I feel stiff.”

“It’s normal you’ve been out for a week now and in wolf form. You’re going to need two to three days to get back to normal. I will give you some pain medication” he said as he walked out the door.

Dan, mom and dad burst in the room worry on their face.

“Oh dear, how are you feeling now? My baby girl I’m so sorry.”

“Mom I’m fine! I’m not a baby anymore. What happened after the attack? How many did we lose?”

“Is that all you worry about Izzy. We are glad you’re okay! You scared us all.” Dan said.

“We lost 5 wolves, and tens were injured but most of them are already healed except for a few that were attacked by those nasty witches.”

“What did the warlock do to you?” Dad asked nervously “Chris and Dan told us you were screaming in pain.

“He just looked at me with his scarey eyes and I felt my bones were crushing. He was the only one that could get to me. The witches couldn’t cast any spell on me, whatever they did felt like small needle pricks that’s it.”

“See I told you guys, the witches couldn’t get to her” Chris said.

Dad and mom looked at each other terrified. It looked like they were communicating silently maybe through the mind link.

Turning their heads towards us, they looked at everyone in the room and lastly their gaze fell on me “We need to tell you all something important after Izzy recovers completely.”
