All I hear around me is beeping sounds, I tried to open my eyes, but I was met by a bright light which made me flinch. After my eyes Adjusted to the light, I opened them and noticed that I was in a hospital bed.

Looking around, I saw Lily sleeping on the chair next to my bed. She must have sensed I woke up because she opened her eyes rushing to my side with a cup of water in her hand.

I drank a few sips from the cup which made my dry throat feel better. After thanking Lily for the cup of water she asked me with concern on her face “How are you feeling does anything hurt?”

“I’m okay I guess, what happened why am I here?” The last thing I remember was the fight with the Alpha.

“You just have 2 broken ribs that are healing and your ankle is already almost healed from the bite. You fainted because your head hit the tree pretty strong. You’ve been out for a few hours only, but the doctor might leave you in the hospital tonight just to make sure everything is okay and you don’t have a concussion.”

“But we might have a little problem” she added in a low whisper.

“What’s wrong Lily? Don’t hide anything from me”

“Your brother called while you were out, and he knows what happened so he is on his way here and he is very upset.”

“Shit. What about the rogues did Sam kill them?” I asked worried

“No, the girl is better, she is in the room next to yours, and the boy I think is still in the cells.”

The door opened and in walked the doctor followed by Sam and Eli.

“Hey beautiful how are you feeling?” Eli asked

“I’m fine thank you for asking Eli” I replied nicely without looking towards Sam.

Sam stood tensed looking everywhere but me.

The doctor checked up on me and said everything was okay, that I healed very fast compared to a normal werewolf which surprised him.

A nurse then walked into the room and removed my IV, and I was discharged from the hospital.

Walking out of the room, I was met face to face with an angry Chris. “Hey Chris, don’t flip I am fine.” I said quickly before he starts yelling.

He stared at me then at Sam behind me “We are leaving tonight.” Was all he said before taking a few sniffs and tensing.

“Are you okay Chris?” I asked concerned

Following him he entered to the room next to mine in the hospital. “Mine” he said while looking at Aileen sitting on the hospital bed.

Aileen was frozen in place as she looked at Chris.

Chris Faced us with an angry expression on his face “Who did this to her?” he asked as he gazed from Sam to Eli.

“I did Chris, she attacked me and I thought she was a rogue before giving them the chance to explain and bringing her here. She is one of the rogues i told you about earlier.”

“We will talk about this later. We will be leaving tonight with my mate, her brother, and you Izzy.”

When Chris said that I saw Sam stiffen.

“You can all stay the night, it’s already late and the drive is long. We will let go of the rogue in the cell and try to understand what happened to them.” Sam tried to reason with us.

Now he wanted us to stay and wanted to listen to the rogues after beating the shit out of me, such a bipolar alpha, I thought to myself.

“Isabelle I need to talk to you alone, if you could give me a few minutes” Sam said pleading.

“So you could attack her again Alpha? I don’t think so!” Chris responded.

“It’s okay brother, I will see what he wants.”

Following Sam to his office, I sat on the chair as he was pacing back and forth with his hand wrapped around the back of his neck. “What do you want Alpha?” I asked

“Isabelle, please call me Sam” he pleaded. The butterflies exploded in my stomach as I heard my name roll out of his mouth. I mentally slapped myself for feeling this way.

“I’m very sorry for what I did. I didn’t mean to attack you. My anger got the best of me. When I heard of you protecting the rogues and bringing them in I got angry, and then you defended them and you threatened to leave if they left. This pissed me off more. I kind of got jealous that you would choose to go with a rogue over staying here with me. You have to understand I feel possessive of you.”

“The big bad alpha is apologizing? Hah I’ve never heard of this before!” I taunted.

“I just wanted to understand what happened with their pack Alpha. I wanted to make sure what he said was true, but you didn’t even want to give them a chance. That’s why I wanted to take them and go to my pack, I didn’t choose between the two of you.”

“Plus I don’t want either of you; all I want is my mate so stop feeling possessive over me.” I hissed.

A smirk showed on his lips as he leaned towards me and inhaled deeply before kissing the spot where my mark would be one day. Sparks erupted all over my body causing me to squeeze my legs together to calm down the pulsing need between my thighs.

“You will find out soon who your mate is love” he said before giving me a soft kiss on the lips causing me to shiver with pleasure.

Pushing him away I headed back out to talk to my brother and to decide if we are leaving or staying for the night.

Deciding to spend the night at the golden moon pack since its dark already, Mike went to the cells to release Aiden.

As they both entered the pack house, Lily tensed next to me as she stared at Aiden. Aiden’s eyes roamed around the room desperately until he met Lily’s eyes, he smiled and said “Mate”.

I guess it’s a lucky day for the siblings.

Lily rushed to Aiden's side and gave him a big hug looking all over him for any injury. They then excused themselves as they both left to Lilys room.

After Aiden freshened up and came back down to the dining room with Lily, we all had dinner together.

Aiden and Aileen told us what happened to their pack. They were still alive because they weren’t around the pack house when the attack happened. When they came back it was already too late, the Alpha and Luna of the pack were already dead with most of the pack members.

When the Alpha of a pack dies the pack bond is completely destroyed and any member of the pack that is still alive is considered a rogue.

The siblings told us that the rogues and witches wanted a person, and they would continue searching packs and destroying every pack that stands against them until they find who they are looking for. They said they were looking for the hybrid.

“Hybrids do not exist, we all know that” I said looking at the siblings. Everyone else nodded their head confirming what I said.

A hybrid is a mix between 2 creatures. It is impossible for that to happen because different beings don’t mate together and if they happen to have a sexual relationship, they can’t have a child.

“There was one hybrid that was recorded in the history books, and he was a vampire warlock” Sam said “But he was killed a long time ago because he practiced black magic and he almost ended our kind.”

We all looked at him shocked. “He was the first and last hybrid to exist. The moon goddess never paired different beings as mates ever again after he was born. It was said that he killed his parents, his vampire clan and his witch coven after he went crazy from the amount of power he had inside him.” Sam added.

“How did they kill him?” I asked.

“The werewolf packs, strong witch covens, and strong vampire clans came together to destroy him. A lot were killed in the battle because the vampire warlock summoned demons to help him fight.”

“Are there still demons today?” Lily asked terrified. Aiden noticed how scared she was, so he started rubbing circles on her back to calm her down.

I have heard tales about Demons, it was said that they feed on the soul of the weak. They have the ability to transform into their own human, or their spirit can possess a creature that was weakened. If that creature accepts the demon they can live as one in the same body.

“There are still a few demons around today but they are in hiding. They only communicate with the witches or warlocks that practice black magic.” Sam answered.

This conversation was starting to freak me out. I always thought that Demons were only in tales. But to hear that some of them are still around today ignited a weird feeling in me.

“Let us continue this talk some other time, it’s getting late and we have a long trip tomorrow” I said while getting up to leave Sam’s office.

Sam tensed and asked to talk to Chris alone in his office. Chris hesitated for a moment before staying in the office and sending Aileen to the bedroom assigned to them.

“I wonder what he wants from Chris.” I whispered to Aileen as we all went to our bedrooms.

"Maybe Chris will tell us tomorrow" she whispered back.

Hoping I will get a good night's sleep I took a warm bath and then hopped into bed. All I could think about was Sam and what he meant by the words he said to me in his office.
