We spent the next couple days in Alaska going around and adventuring. On Christmas morning we opened the gifts we got eachother. It felt so good to be able to just spend time with eachother for the holidays but I was excited to go home.

"Got everything?" I asked as I zipped up my suitcase. "Yeah, I'm gonna miss this place." Colby said as he zipped his bag up. "Me too, we should just stay." I said with a frown as Colby grabbed our bags.

"I wish we could but I think Sam would kill me and Ki would send a search party for you." He said with a laugh as we walked to the main part of the cabin.

"Bye, cabin." I said and waved as Colby chuckled. "You're so cute." He said then kissed my head. "Shut up." I grumbled and crossed my arms. "I'm gonna bring the stuff to the car, can you make sure we have everything?" Colby asked.

"Yeah." I said then walked towards the kitchen as we went outside. I walked around the whole cabin making sure we had everything.

It was a bittersweet feeling knowing we were going home today. I wanted to be back with our friends since keeping our engagement a secret has been difficult but I wasn't ready to go back to normal.

Being at this cabin with Colby was an escape from any sense of reality. There were no fans, no fame, no hate, just us and our love for eachother.

It was just really nice.

Once I decided we hadn't forgotten anything I went out to the car. When I got there Colby turned to me. "Ready?" He asked as I nodded and looked around one last time.

Being here reminded how much I loved and missed the snow. I loved living in LA for Colby and our friends but the lack of seasons was a huge bummer.

"I know you're sad." Colby said quietly as he wrapped his arms around me. "I just loved this so much. You have no idea how much it means to me that you did this for me." I said and looked up at him.

"I haven't seen you this happy in a while." He said as I hugged him back. "Yeah, I don't know how you're gonna top this one." I said with a laugh then stood on my tip toes and kissed him.

When we pulled away kissed my head then took my hand. "Let's go." He said then opened my car door for me. I got in then looked out the window at the snowy scenery one last time as Colby got in the car.

The drive to the airport was bittersweet but we jammed out to some good music making it a good time.

When we got to the airport we dropped the rental car off then made our way to security. It was a little bit of a nightmare going through security since our bags were stuffed from the Christmas presents we got for eachother, but we made it through eventually.

We spent the entire flight watching movies which made it go by pretty fast. When we landed in LA I felt my chest warm up slightly.

I missed our friends.

"Is Sam picking us up?" I asked as we made our way to baggage claim. "Yeah, he said he's on his way." Colby said and checked his phone. "Good, I don't have to take this off yet." I said and held up my left hand. "You're gonna take it off?" He asked as I laughed.

"Yes. When a couple goes on a romantic vacation the first place people look when they come back is the left hand. I dont want to spoil it." I said with a laugh. "You're smart." He said and squeezed my hand. "Some say I'm a genius." I said and wink as the bags started moving on the conveyor belt.

We grabbed our bags then made our way to where Sam would be picking us up. When we got outside I groaned from how hot it was. "What's wrong?" Colby asked as I set my bag down. "It's hot as fuck." I said then took my jacket off.

"Yeah, I like warm weather but it was nice to have snow on Christmas." Colby said with a sigh. "We should make it a tradition to go somewhere snowy every Christmas." I said as Sam pulled up in his Tesla.

"Look at him." I said with a laugh as he opened the trunk. "Hey guys!" Sam called out as we walked to the back of the car. "Hi, Sam!" I said excitedly as we put our bags in the trunk.

"How was your trip?" He asked as we got in the car. "It was good." I said as Sam started driving. "Let me see it." He said then looked back at me. I giggled and held my left hand up to show him my engagement ring.

"Nice! I'm so happy for you guys." He said as Colby smiled widely. "Thanks, man." He said as Sam looked forwards again. As we drove we asked Sam about his trip to Kansas. I thought it was cute how happy he was when he talked about going back to where he grew up.

When we got home I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. I was really nervous all the sudden that they wouldn't approve of us getting engaged. I knew it was a ridiculous thought but my anxiety was through the roof.

I let out a breath then pulled my ring off and put it in my pocket. It made me nervous to take it off because I didn't want to lose it or break it but I would only have it off for a couple minutes.

We got out of the car and grabbed our stuff then went inside. "You're back!!" Kat yelled as we walked into the living room. "I missed you." I said as she got up to hug me. "I missed you too! Tell me everything." She said as I laughed.

"Let me text Ki so she can come over then I'll tell you everything." I said then turned to go to the bedroom. I texted Ki then started to sort my laundry out so I could wash everything.

"Hey, babe. Do you want me to throw your laundry in with mine?" I asked Colby as he came into the room. "Yeah, we can do that later though, Ki's here." He said as I laughed. "Already?" I asked as he nodded.

"Yeah, Kat told her to come like 20 minutes ago." He said as I nodded. "Okay, let me get changed. Can you set the laptop up in the movie room?" I asked as he nodded. "You got it." He said then left.

Once he was gone I got changed into clean clothes. I made sure to pull my ring out of my pants and put it in the pocket of the pants I was wearing now.

When I walked into the movie room Ki gasped and stood up. "I missed you bitch!" She screamed then tackled me with a hug. "I missed you too! I'm so glad to see you survived without me." I teased as she rolled her eyes.

"Whatever, tell us about your trip!" She said as we walked over to the couches. "Okay. So Colby rented us this gorgeous cabin which was like something out of a movie." I said as I sat down next to Colby.

"Cute!" Kat said and clapped her hands together. "Yeah, we tried to see the northern lights on the first real night we were there but it was too cloudy." I said as Sam nodded. "That's what happened to us. It sucked." He said as Colby pulled up pictures on his laptop.

"Yeah, we did go dog sledding again though." Colby said and pointed to the movie screen. On the screen was a selfie of Colby and I with the dogs. "Y'all are fucking cute." Ki said as she pouted her lip out.

"The next night we went to a fancy dinner then stayed in since there was a snow storm." I said and put my hand in my pocket, fidgeting with the ring that was in there.

"So no lights?" Kat asked as I shook my head. "Not until the third night." I said as Colby pulled up the video.

My heart was racing as he smiled. "They were the coolest things on the planet, we just had to take a video of it." He said as Kat bounced happily. "Play it!" She said as Colby chuckled and played the video.

I could feel my heart beating out of my chest as I pulled the ring out of my pocket and slid it on my finger.

I didn't bother watching the video since I had seen it so I looked over at Kat and Ki to see their reactions.

At first they were mesmerized by the lights, then their jaws dropped at the same time. "YOU DIDN'T!" Kat yelled as she stood up. "No fucking way!" Ki squealed as she stood up.

I giggled then held my hand up as they both stood up to attack us with hugs. "I can't believe this!" Ki said as I laughed and showed her the ring. "It's gorgeous! Way to go Colby." Kat said and punched his arm playfully.

"Thank you, thank you." He said then bowed dramatically. "We have to celebrate." Ki said as we all stood up.

"Oh...I can't drink." I said as she squinted at me. I sighed dramatically then put my hand over my belly. "You're pregnant too?!" She yelled as Colby's eyes widened.

"Nah, I'm just fucking with you. Let's celebrate!" I said then threw my hands up. "Jesus, you scared me." Colby said and put his hand over his chest as we made our way to the kitchen.

"Sorry, I couldn't pass up the opportunity." I said with a laugh. "You're an ass." He said then nudged me with his shoulder. "Yes. Yes, I am." I agreed then went to the fridge to grab some white claws.

We spent the rest of the night celebrating Colby and I's engagement. We didn't do anything big but it felt good to be back home with our friends.
