I melted against Colby's lips, letting him pull me into him as close as he possibly could. My heart filled with love as I laced my fingers through his hair, deepening the kiss.

I felt at home.

After a couple more seconds we pulled away from eachother, breathing heavily. I just stared into his eyes, trying to figure out what to say.

"I couldn't leave you." Colby whispered as I took a step back, unwrapping my arms from his neck. "Why? I'm not special Colby, I'm a train wreck." I said as he shook his head.

"No. You've been through a lot, and I should have fought for you harder. I shouldn't have let you go." He said and ran his fingers through my hair.

"What about Lucy." I said then took another step back. "We were never dating, Vi. I promise. She doesn't mean anything to me." He said as I chewed my lip.

"Colby...I...I still don't think I'm ready to go back." I said as he nodded. "I know. Just...give me a chance, V. Give me a chance to get back into your heart." He said as I sucked my lips in.

"You never left my heart, Colby. I'm just scared." I whispered as he took a step towards me. "Give me one week. One full week to prove to you that I'm not gonna hurt you. I never want to hurt you." He said and grabbed my shoulders, looking me in the eyes.

"Don't you have to get back to LA?" I asked as he shook his head. "Anything in LA can wait. You're the most important thing to me. You always have been." He said then cupped my cheek and kissed me again.

This kiss wasn't as heated as the last. This one was slow burning, almost as if he was pouring all of his love into it.

I moaned slightly, feeling myself melt into him again. I never wanted him to pull away, but after a minute he did.

"Let me stay." Colby whispered against my lips. "Okay." I whispered as he brushed my hair behind my ear.

"Are you hungry?" I asked and brushed my palms on my pants. "Actually, yeah." He said with a small laugh as I grabbed his bag and started for the stairs.

"Okay...we can get some food then maybe go visit my parents and grams." I said and walked to my bedroom. "That sounds perfect." He said then gave me a quick kiss.

I could feel my heart filling with love every time he would kiss me. I didn't know how I survived all of those months without him, but that's what scares me.

I was afraid of being hurt again.

"I'm gonna shower." I whispered then turned towards the bathroom. I still couldn't believe Colby would turn around and come back to me even after everything that happened.

I couldn't believe that he still wanted me.

I took a quick shower then got dressed and went back into the bedroom. Colby was sitting on the edge of the bed, scrolling through his phone. When he looked up at me a beautiful smile formed on his lips.

"Ready?" He asked as I nodded. "Where did you want to go to get food?" I asked and grabbed my purse. "Wherever you want. I don't really know what's around here." He said as I nodded. "Okay, let's go." I said then left the room.

When we got in the car I could feel the tension building up again. I could feel myself building my walls again, even though I didn't want to.

I wanted to give him another chance.

"What's wrong, V?" Colby asked as I started the car. "I don't know. This just feels wrong." I mumbled as he reached over and took my hand. "I know it's a lot to handle but I'm not going anywhere." He said then squeezed my hand.

I nodded then started driving to the restaurant. Colby held my hand as I drove which was a foreign feeling after all these months. I was afraid we were moving too fast again.

I was afraid that I was willingly giving my heart to him again. But who was I kidding?

He had my heart this whole time.

"Did you want some wine?" Colby asked as we looked over the menu. "Yeah, to calm the nerves." I said with a laugh. "You don't have to be nervous, V. There's literally no pressure." He said and took my hand as the waitress came over.

We put our orders in then watched as the waitress walked away. "So, what have you been up to?" I asked and folded my hands under the table. "Sam and I are doing this thing where we go down our bucket list doing things we're afraid of before we turn 25." He explained as I nodded.

"Like what?" I asked and picked up a breadstick taking a bite of it. "We just went rock climbing with Tara and Jake which was fun. We went scuba diving a couple weeks ago which was terrifying." He said as I watched his features light up.

I loved that even after all these months of not talking, we could get into a conversation with no problems.

"Well, what's next on the list?" I asked as the waitress set our drinks down. "Sky diving." He said as I cringed. "That sounds scary." I said and took a sip of my wine. "Yeah, I'm excited for the challenge after that though." He said as I raised my brows. "Oh yeah? What's that?" I asked as he grinned.

"Camping. Like really camping, no cellphones, no electricity, nothing." He said as I nodded. "Now that sounds fun." I said with a giggle.

"What if you came with?" He asked as I shrugged. "I don't know about that." I said with a sigh. "Why not? It could be fun, plus I miss getting to adventure with you." He said as I shrugged. "I don't know, I just don't think we should be filming anything together." I said as our food came.

"Don't worry about them, V. We've been taking people on these trips, they wouldn't think twice about you being there." He said as I nodded. "I'll think about it, okay? I don't want to rush this." I said quietly.

"Okay, I won't rush you." He said then smiled softly at me.

We finished up our dinner then made our way to the graveyard. We stopped at the store and got three bouquets of flowers.

I could feel my heart clenching as we walked hand in hand down the walkways.

When we got to my grandmas grave I laid one of the bouquets in front of the headstone. "Hey grams, I hope you're doing okay. I miss you so much." I whispered as Colby squeezed my hand.

"I love you." I said then kissed my hand and patted the headstone before turning towards my parents grave.

"Hi mommy, hi daddy." I whispered as Colby and I each put a bouquet of flowers on the ground in front of the headstone. "I hope you're taking good care of grams. I love you guys." I said then sighed and turned to Colby.

"Okay, we can go. Thanks for coming here with me." I said as he nodded and kissed my head. "Did you want to go anywhere else?" He asked as I shook my head.

"I want to watch your bucket list series." I said as we slowly walked to the car. "We can watch them." He said then let go of my hand so he could wrap his arm around my shoulders.

I loved how quickly we were bonding together but it also terrified me. I didn't know what was going to happen after this week but I did know that I wanted to give this another shot.

I wanted this to work.

When we got home Beatrice was standing in the kitchen. "Hey Vi- oh! You have company." She said as I grinned. "Yeah, this is Colby. Colby, this is Beatrice. She's like my second mom." I said as he shook her hand.

"Nice to meet you." Colby said as Beatrice raised her eyebrows at me, almost as if she was impressed by him. "Nice to meet you too, did you guys eat already?" She asked then went towards the fridge.

"Yeah, we're gonna be upstairs." I said then took Colby's hand again. "Okay, have fun." She said then winked at me as I laughed.

When we got upstairs we got changed into some comfortable clothes then laid on the bed.

"Come here." Colby said and opened his arms as I giggled and crawled into his embrace. "Ready?" He asked and pulled my laptop into his lap. "Yep." I said and nuzzled my head on his chest.

We spent the rest of the night watching all of the videos in the 25x25 series. It was really strange being in his arms after all this time but I was really happy.

It still really scared me though.
