"Alright, mum! I call you when I finish a ten-minute walk!" I giggled.

"That's a good girl, (Y/n). I'm so proud of you! You did it! You achieved your dream! I'm just so proud!" she replied hugging me and crying onto my shoulder.

"Okay, mum. I need to go now or I'll be late," I responded. She let me go and I gave her one final hug before dashing out the door and down the street to the Wright Anything Agency, where I started my new job. I had recently got my attorney's badge and, due to me being great friends with Athena, I had become the newest member. But nothing prepared me for that day.

"(Y/n)! You're here!"

"Hi, Athena. Yes I am," I replied returning her hug.

"Hi! You must be (Y/n)! Athena's talked so much about you!" A little girl spoke up.

"Um... Hi. Yes, I am. And you are?"

"Trucy, Trucy Wright!"

"Trucy, Athena. What's all the shouting about? And who's this?"

"Oh, Mr Wright! This is (Y/n)! (Y/n), this is Mr Wright!"

"Um hi. As Athena said, I'm (Y/n)."

"It's nice to meet you, (Y/n)."

"It's good to meet you too, Mr Wright," I replied.

"Mr Wright. Can I do something other-Oh, hello! I'm Apollo Justice and I'm fine!"

"It's nice to meet you, Apollo," I replied taking his out stretched hand, "But do you think you can tone it down slightly?"

"Oh, yeah sorry about that. It's part of my 'Chords of Steel' workout," he responded, rubbing the spikes on his which I guessed were his hair. It was in that moment, that my phone went off. I picked it up;

"(Y/n), there's something I-I need to tell you. I-Its about your mother. S-she had a car accident on the way to work a-and s-she-"

"I-It's okay, Dad. Y-You don't need to say any more," I replied trying to contain my tears, cutting him off.

"I-I just thought I-I'd tell you."

"T-thanks."

I hung up before collapsing onto the floor and sobbing my eyes out. I soon felt an arm around my shoulders and bring my into a chest, "Hey, (Y/n). Do you want to tell us what's wrong?"

"N-No, it's fine. It's a personal issue. Not something I should be worrying you about. Don't take it the wrong way. I-I just don't talk about personal issues with co-workers," I replied through choked sobs.

"It's okay, (Y/n) you don't have to tell us if you're not comfortable with it. We understand that."

--------------------

It was a few days after that incident that I would have to do something I really didn't want to.

"Mr Wright, can I talk to you about something please? Preferably in private."

"Yes, of course you can, (Y/n). We can talk in here," he replied leading me into his office and closing the door after I'd entered, "So what did you want to talk about (Y/n)?"

"I was wondering whether it would be okay for me to take next Tuesday off."

"Could you tell me why?"

There's the question I didn't want him to ask. "Well, you remember my first day when I was really upset? Well, the reason for that is the reason I'm asking to take next Tuesday off. My mum died in a car accident that day on her way to work and the phone call was my dad ringing me to tell me. That's why I was so upset after I received that phone call.  I'm sorry I didn't tell you then but, I didn't want to worry you with my personal issues," I trailed off after that point to the point where it was nearly inaudible and started crying softly.

"(Y/n), I'm sorry I pried. If you need to take next Tuesday off, you can."

"Thank you. I promise I'll be back on Wednesday I just, it's that day is when-"

He cut me off, "I know, (Y/n). It's okay. We'll be fine without you that day. I know it's heard losing a loved one and it takes time to get over it. So take as much time as you need. If you need to take tomorrow off, then do. It's okay."

"Thank you, Mr Wright but, I'll be fine. I'll get over it eventually. I have my father at least."

It was then that my phone went off again. I apologised to Mr Wright and picked it up, "Hello?"

"Miss (L/n), we have some news. Your father-"

"What happened? Is he okay?"

"No, not really. He was caught in a accident and unfortunately died from impact. Thought we should probably tell you."

"O-Okay."

I hung up and put my phone away. I tried to contain my tears and suceeded.

"Just remember, (Y/n). We're here for you if you need it."

"I know, thank you."

---------------TIMESKIP TO THE NEXT TUESDAY - APOLLO'S POV

It started out like a normal day, well, that was until I realised (Y/n) hadn't come in. I was confused about this, as she hadn't rang to say that she was sick - Mr Wright would have told us if she had - and she would have told us if she was doing something. I put it to the back of my mind thinking it was just that she was out investigating. However, by the afternoon, she still hadn't returned. That's when I decided to ask Mr Wright. I was really concerned for her safety - Yes, I'd developed a crush on her - and I wouldn't be able to sleep tonight unless I knew she was okay.

"Mr Wright, do you know where (Y/n) is? I haven't seen her all day."

"She told me she was out on an investigation today and it would take a while," he replied. I focused on him and noticed his nervous tic: Pulling on his tie from under his waistcoat. (I don't know what this is. If anyone can think of a better one please tell me.) "Gotcha! Mr Wright, I hate to say it but you're lying to me. I can tell. Where is she really?"

"I'm not going to be able to lie to you am I?"

"No, you're not, Mr Wright. Now tell me, where is (Y/n)?"

"She took today off for a personal reason, Apollo. She asked me not to tell you, any of you."

"Oh, I guess I shouldn't pry. Thank you, Mr Wright," I responded before resuming my work.

"One more thing, Apollo. Tomorrow, and any other day for a while, don't mention her parents - It will most likely end in her crying."

"Did, her they die or something?"

"I shouldn't be talking to you about this, Apollo. Just get on with your work."

"You mean, 'clean the toilets again'?" I muttered under my breath. Thankfully Mr Wright didn't hear me.

-----------------------------

At the end of the day, instead of walking home, like I'd normally do, I walked over to, (Y/n)'s house and knocked on the door, "(Y/n) and you in?"

I heard sobs coming from inside and opened the door, surprisingly it was unlocked. I locked it behind me so she wouldn't get robbed or anything and made my way to her bedroom, "(Y/n), are you in there?"

There was another sob and I opened the door to see her lying on the bed, her head in the pillows and crying here eyes out, "(Y/n), what happened?"

She didn't reply but just gave me her phone and headphones. I looked down at her phone to see that it was on and on the screen to replay a recorded message from her dad. Was this the phone call she received that day? "(Y/n), do you want me to listen to the call?"

She nodded her head the best she could from her position and I plugged the headphones in before listening to the call back. I was shocked when I head the bit about her mother. After I finished listening to it, I put her phone back down on her nightstand before sitting on her bed and bringing her head onto my lap. I wiped her tears, "(Y/n), you don't need to go through this alone. You'll get through this. I did. Twice. My father died when I was a baby, I found out that the father figure I'd grown up with was murdered and I don't even know who my mother is. You don't have to go through this alone, (Y/n). I'm here for you and so are Athena, Trucy and Mr Wright. We're all here if you need it. Please, talk to us if you have any problems," I spoke stroking her hair to try and calm her down. It work and she fell asleep on me. I smiled and placed her head back on the pillow before covering her with the duvet. I was going to leave and get her a glass of water but she grabbed my hand, "Stay, Apollo. I don't want to be alone."

"What do you mean, alone?"

"My father dies as well. I'm alone now and I don't want to be. I have no family," she replied, crying again.

"(Y/n), I'm sorry I brought it up but, remember we're all here for you. You shouldn't have to got through it alone. And this probably is the best time to be saying this, but I've had a crush on you since I met you. Well, not really a crush... What I'm trying to say is 'I love you, (Y/n)' more than a friend."

I then saw her smile. The first genuine smile, since I'd met her, "I love you too, Apollo," she responded grabbing my tie and pulling me on top of her. She wrapped her arms around my neck and brought me down to kiss me. I immediately kissed back and wrapped my arms around her waist. We eventually broke off - after about a minute - due to lack of oxygen and she smiled again, "I truly love you, Apollo. I don't know what I'd do if I didn't have you."

"I was just trying to be a good fr-boyfriend, (Y/n). You don't have to thank me," I replied rubbing my spikes.

"I do though, Apollo. Thank you for getting me though this. I really mean it," she spoke, pulling my down again, and kissing me.

"I love you."

"I lovce you too."
