Chapter 29

(WARNING: This chapter contains slight spoilers for Stranger Things, you have been warned)

As it started to get late, the number of people walking in the  populous city seem to increase. Daichi's legs ached with agonizing pain, as if he played two five-set volleyball matches. Even though he was extremely exhausted, he shouldn't be complaining since Asahi was carrying a lot more than Daichi even with Daichi helping him, besides both of them had fun today. He pitied Asahi, for he had a lot to carry back with him to Miyagi. The sky was as dark as a crow's feather by the time they arrived at campus. Daichi and Asahi were talking about their new positions in their volleyball team and the games they had played. Asahi was still a wing-spiker, which Daichi was not surprised about, while Daichi was a libero. He felt as if he was the only one with a new and completely different position.

"To be honest, I'm not surprised," Asahi said as they arrived at Daichi's building.

"Really?" Daichi asked, looking at Asahi.

Asahi nodded, "Yup. Even though you were a wing-spiker back at Karasuno, you mostly received along with Nishinoya, so I'm not shocked."

"Oh I see," was all Daichi said.

Asahi checked his watch as they entered the elevator and nearly dropped everything he was holding, "Crap!"

"What? What's wrong?" Daichi asked, concerned about his brunette friend.

"I lost track of time and missed my train," explained Asahi.

"It's okay, you can crash here," Daichi suggested as the elevator dinged, indicating that they have arrived at their destination.

"You sure?" Asahi asked, wearing a mask of worry.

"Yeah, of course," Daichi answered with a smile as he opened the doorof his dorm.

When he opened the door, he was surprised to see not only Suga and Oikawa occupying Oikawa's bed, but Bokuto and Kuroo too. The popcorn was now empty, along with some coke bottles on the floor and one Minute Maid bottle that sprawled across the floor. Daichi assumed that Minute Maid bottle was for Suga since he knew that Suga was not a big fan of carbonated drinks. The volume of Oikawa's laptop was loud to the maximum, meaning that Daichi and Asahi could hear every single word and sound effect in the video clearly. Another thing Daichi noticed was that the whole group  was crying. Bokuto and Oikawa were crying waterfalls of tears that landed onto Suga's and Kuroo's sweatshirts whilst Kuroo tried his best to hold  in the tears and Suga only crying little droplets. Although Daichi and Asahi had been frozen in their positions for awhile, no one seem  to notcie or be bothered by their arrival.

"Goodbye Mike," the character on the laptop said.

"No Eleven!" Oikawa wailed, burying his head onto Suga's shoulder.

"She's going to die, isn't she," Kuroo stated as Daichi saw a tear streamed down Kuroo's face.

"THIS IS SUCH AN EMOTIONAL EPISODE," Boktuo sobbed, "FIRST THE BACKSTORY OF THE SHERIFF AND NOW THIS,"

"What the fuck is going on?" Daichi had caught the attention of the crying bunch by asking this questions and Oikawa went to pause the episode to turn on the light of their dorm.

"Hey Dai-chan," Oikawa sniffled and blew his nose onto a tissue he was holding.

"Oikawa what the hell is this?" Daichi asked, placing his and Asahi's things on Daichi's study table.

"Well, just when you left, Boku-chan and Kuro-chan came in claiming to be bored so they joined us and here we are now," Oikawa explained, throwing his tissue into  the trash bin.

"Daichi! Oh my gosh you should watch this show!" Bokuto exclaimed.

"Hey Captain Crow," Kuroo greeted, "hey Ace Crow."

"Hey Daichi," Suga gave  Daichi a gentle smile and a small wave as he looked at Asahi, "and um...Sorry I don't know your name."

"Ah I'm Asahi," said Asahi as he smiled slightly, "I'm Daichi's friend, we went to the same high school."

"Ohhh I remember you," Bokuto smiled, "You were the ace of Karasuno."

Kuroo nodded, "Yup he was."

"I remember your powerful spikes and serves," Oikawa patted Asahi's back, "Nice to see you again."

"Yeah same to you," Asahi replied, "Since it's not on a volleyball court with you as an oponent."

This made Oikawa chuckle, "Yup!"

"Hey Oikawa, Asahi is crashing here for the night if you don't mind," Daichi closed their door and took off his jacket.

"Oh don't mind  at all," replied Oikawa, "I'll go see if I can find my sleeping bag."

"Or, to spare you the troubles, Asahi could sleep in my dorm, he can take Moniwa's  bed," suggested suga, "I'm sure he wouldn't mind."

"Hey guys, I have a perfect idea!"

All eyes landed on Bokuto as he said his wonderful idea, "Let's have a movie night!"

"Huh? How Brokuto?" Kuroo asked, scratching his head.

"Well well, Kubro," Bokuto smirked, "We can borrow Ushiwaka's fan-air conditioner ot just leave the door open since it's winter, it's cold. We can take it in the gym since it's clean  and has a big amount of space. Bring our sleeping bags and foor there, and borrow a projector from one of the classrooms and a table too."

"But how can we plug it?" Daichi asked.

"We can borrow one of the extension cords with a long wire and plug it in. I know there's one outlet not so far away," Bokuto suggested.

"That's not a bad idea actually," Kuroo smiled, "I'm in."

"Hey same here!" Oikawa said, raising his hand.

"Well it sounds like fun," Suga smiled even more.

"Yay! Once Ushiwaka and Terushima come back, we can start," Bokuto smiled from ear to ear, "Kuroo and I can start preparing the stuff."

"Asahi, Moniwa left his sleeping bag here, you can borrow it if you want," Suga offered, placing his hand on his hip.

"Oh thank you," Asahi said, giving Suga a light smile.

Daichi couldn't help but grin at the two as he started gathering the things he needed for their movie night. The whole group was filled with excitement and he was glad that they welcomed Asahi like everyone were friends with him for a long time.
