Chapter 10

It has been a month since Daichi first entered the door to the life of a university life and he's already drowning in the ocean of homework and quizzes, he wasn't the only one though. Oikawa has been non-stop working for who knows how long, sometimes he would go to Kuroo's and Bokuto's dorm next door. By some miracle, Bokuto and Terushima are always energetic no matter what time of day it is. Additionally, all of them had one class together, which was first language English, and since some of them, them being Ushijima, Terushima, and Bokuto, were terrible at it, they would arrange group studies either in the cafe or any of their dorms. All of them were drowning, even Suga. Suga kept Daichi at ease, whether they were talking online or in real life, volleyball did too but, unfortunately, volleyball wasn't a human being. If it was, Ushijima and Oikawa would be fighting for the poor creature.

Daichi and the others were on their way to practice, Kuroo was looking through Oikawa's music library. Bokuto looked over Kuroo's shoulder, putting his arm around him while doing so.

"No offense Oikawa," Kuroo looked at Oikawa then back at his phone, "Your music taste is incredibly shitty."

Oikawa looked at Kuroo, disgusted by his comment, "Excuse me, what did you just say?"

"Bro who the hell is Melanie Martinez? And Marina and The Diamonds?" Bokuto asked, clearly confused.

"Musical artists," Oikawa smiled, "more like musical goddesses."

"Although," Kuroo continued, "There's one thing I like about your music taste, which is the fact that it includes Halsey."

Oikawa's face suddenly glowed like the sun, stunned about the comment that contained no insult whatsoever, "Holy shit you listen to Halsey?"

Kuroo smiled, "Fuck yeah I do."

"Oi watch the language," was all Daichi said.

"Oh my God, quick what's your favorite song from the Badlands album?" Oikawa asked, enthusiastically.

"You first!" Kuroo replied as they arrived at the volleyball court.

"Okay we say it at the same time," Oikawa took a deep breath.

Both of them counted down, "3...2...1...COLORS"

Oikawa and Kuroo laughed, "No way! You too?" Oikawa asked.

"I can't believe it!" Kuroo shouted, luckily not enough for the whole court to hear.

As they walked to their usual spot on the bleachers, Daichi looked around, no sign of Suga anywhere, Daichi frowned while Kuroo and Oikawa continued their Halsey conversation.

"What's wrong? Looking for your boyfriend?"

Daichi turned to see Ushijima, standing next to him, waiting for an answer.

"He's not my boyfriend," Daichi said, "But yeah I guess I am."

"How's Karasuno doing?" Ushijima asked as they walked to an empty volleyball net.

"They're doing great, I heard they're going to nationals again so that's good," Daichi looked at Ushijima, "How's Shiratorizawa?"

"They're still in good shape," Ushijima replied, "Unfortunately they're not doing well ever since I left."

"Ah I'm sorry too hear that," Daichi frowned.

"Well all that matters is this team now. You're libero now right?" Ushijima asked.

Daichi nodded, "Yeah, due to my solid receives.  Kuroo is still a middle blocker, Bokuto, Terushima, and you are wing spikers, and Oikawa is still a setter."

"Are you starting to get used to your new position? After all, you were a wing spiker before."

Daichi nodded again, "Yeah I am. It's like what I did before only with more rules."

"Ah I see," Ushijima replied, "I just hope I can become ace again."

"Not when I'm here nope sorry not possible!" Bokuto sling his arm around Ushijima, "Ushiwaka, we all know that I'm an awesome ace."

"You may be top five," Ushijima looked at Bokuto, "but I'm top three."

Bokuto gasped, "Hey hey hey rude!"

Kuroo, Oikawa, and Terushima broke into uncontrollable laughter as they heard Ushijima's comeback.

"I'm sorry bro," Kuroo tried to stop laughing, "but it's true!"

Daichi tried his best to hold in his laughter, "Don't mind, don't mind."

Bokuto looked at him, "You too?!"

"Oi," Kuroo took a deep breath and looked at all of them, "Let's start practicing, three on three."

They all nodded, and started making teams to start their practice.
