Chapter Ten

Tiffany's POV:

I wake up to the sound of a camera click go off. I think nothing of it. Attempting to fall back to sleep, only to hear soft snoring from beside me, a bit too close for comfort, not only that but I feel a weight on my lower stomach and it's definitely not the blanket. My eyes shoot open and look down at my waist to see an arm lying across it. I slowly turn my head to my left and let out a loud scream making me fall off the bed. The queen's size bed too.

I slowly get up off the floor and turn to find Kyle sprawled out against the blankets. What is Kyle doing in my bed in the first place?

"Conaway." I say, my voice strained from my throat being sore. Kyle just keeps snoring away.

"Conaway." I say a little louder. He moves slightly but stays asleep. Damn freaking Kyle Conaway. "Move it Conaway!" I snap, throwing my hand to my throat. Crap, that hurt.

"Mmm-" He mumbles, turning over.

"Conaway." A say a little louder, my throat still strained.

"Wh-huh?" He mumbles. Blinking his eyes open and looking around his surroundings. "Tiff, why are you in my room?" He asks, his voice also sounding strained. Yea, that concludes we're both sick.

"Your room? More like mine."

"No I-" He suddenly looks around again and notices that this is in fact my room. "Oh. I must have fallen asleep."

What? Wait! Callum, Kyle and me was watching Pretty Little Liars. That's right now I remember. We were watching Pretty Little Liars and then I started feeling sleepy so I fell asleep, maybe Kyle did too- well obviously he did, otherwise he wouldn't be in here. So where did Callum go?

"Never mind, just go back to your room so I can go to-"

"So you're finally up." A voice says from behind us and I turn around and see Callum standing by the doorway.

"Well yea. Anyways what time is it?" I ask him, he shrugs.

"Well. It's late afternoon." He pulls his phone out and checks the time I assume and then confirms it by saying, "Five o'clock."

"Ok."

"By the way, dinner's ready. Ty sent me up here to tell you both." Callum says.

I nod then I hear a sneeze from behind me. I turn to see Kyle sneezing, his face looking a little redder than normal.

"I'm going back to bed, tell Ty to bring my dinner to my room." Kyle says his voice strained.

"Sure. He made pumpkin soup for the both of you. He said it's one of his best 'get better' recipes." Callum says and then walks out of the room, I turn back around to see Kyle getting comfortable again.

"Conaway, go to your own room." I groan but he does nothing but let his eyes close.

I walk over to him and look at him properly, he looks peaceful lying here. Maybe I should just leave him alone, he is sick after all.

But so am I.

I pull a few tissues from the box beside my bed, blowing my nose and exiting the room leaving Kyle to be in peace for a while. He needs his rest as much as I need mine.

Just as I walk downstairs and into the kitchen I over hear a conversation between Callum and Tyler, something about Kyle admitting something.

"He should just come out and say it alread-"

I curse the day they made creaky floor boards. Callum looks towards the door and sees me.

"Morning sunshine! It's about time you finally got up." Tyler says with a slight smirk. I just nod, letting out a yawn and walking over to the table, taking a seat at a chair behind a bowl and spoon.

"More like afternoon." Callum says then he looks back to the door, "Where's sleepy head number two?"

"Went back to sleep." I mumble, picking up the spoon and putting some soup in my mouth. This soup is not the watery kind either, which is the type I like.

"You sound worse by the minute. Are you feeling alright?" Tyler says looking worried, "Maybe we should take you to the doctor."

"No, I'm fine. Re-" I go into a coughing fit. "I'm fine." I mumble, picking up another spoonful of soup.

"Hey Ty, I'm going to go. I have to go see my brother at the pizzeria, he can't handle it on his own and I told him I wasn't going to be long." Callum says.

"Yea that's fine. I'll see you tomorrow anyways." Tyler says, "Say hey to Aaron for me."

"No problem. See ya later Tiffany! Get better soon! See ya Ty!" Callum calls through the house as he walks to the front door. Closing it behind him.

"What's going on little-T?" Tyler asks me.

I put my spoon back in the bowl and give Tyler a weird look.

"What are you talking about?" I ask and he shrugs,

"Kyle."

"Nothing's going on with him." I say and Tyler eyes me carefully.

"Are you sure?"

"This soup is amazing. I already feel better." I say changing the topic and taking another spoonful. I continue eating the soup until it's all gone.

"I'm glad you like it." He says looking amused. "But seriously are you sure nothing's going on between you two?"

"I'm sure Ty, and if there was you'll be the first to know." I tell him. "Thanks for dinner."

"No worries. Do you feel like desert? I made lemon cheese cake."

Yumm.

"Yes. It sounds delish."

And it was. I ate half of the cheese cake and by time Kyle actually decided to come downstairs to eat something, he looked like the walking dead. No seriously. His hair was all messy, his nose is red, his eyes were sleepy and his face is flushed. His outfit isn't any better, he only has his pajama pants on. His shirt is not on and I had to force my attention to something else, like the TV.

I was just sitting around in the lounge room snuggled up in a warm blanket watching 'How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days?'. One of my favourite movies. Kyle walks in... without a shirt on and plops down next to me. With a tub of ice cream in his hands.

"Feeling better?" I ask, my voice sounding a lot better than it was before.

"No, I feel like shit." Kyle says, his voice still strained.

"And you look like shit too." I couldn't help but say, making him crack a grin.

He looks so vulnerable when he's like this.

"I know, and so do you. Feeling better?"

"A little." I mumble, turning back to the TV.

"Oh this is that funny movie where she has to write an article about losing a guy in ten days, right?" He says looking at the screen.

"Uhuh. How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days." I tell him and he smiles,

"I love this movie." He says, leaning back on the lounge, putting his feet under him with the tub of ice cream in his lap.

Now I'm craving it.

"Me too, now if you don't mind. Shush." I say watching the screen. It's at the part where they're at the basketball game and she ask's him to go get her a drink.

"Where's Tyler?" Kyle asks and I groan internally.

"I don't know. Now can you please be quiet Conaway, I'm kinda watching this." I tell him. He just rolls his eyes.

A few days pass and thankfully I'm feeling one hundred percent better. No more Kyle watching movie's or TV shows with me. But I started training again, with Tyler's help since Kyle has been sick a little longer than I have. So I learn't a new thing or two.

Today I just decide to go down to the ice cream parlour and get an ice cream for myself or maybe to get a few tubs of ice cream to stock up the fridge. We'll see.

When I arrive I open the door and the bell above the door jingles and Lucy looks up with a smile. She's currently serving a family of three. Their daughter sitting on the father's shoulder's. So adorable.

"Here you go. Have a nice afternoon!" Lucy says with a bright smile.

"You too Lucy!" The little girl and her parents say at the same time.

"Hello." The man says to me, his wife smiles at me and the little girl grins.

"Morning." I say with a smile. The people around here are really nice.

"So you must be the famous Tiffany then?" The lady says and I smile.

I still don't get how people know my name.

"Yea. And you must be?"

"I'm Esther. This is my husband Joey and our daughter Hannah." Esther says and I smile,

"It's nice to meet you."

"You too Tiffany." Joey says and I smile.

"Tiffy! That's what I'll call you." Hannah say in her cute voice. Which makes me think about my sister. "My brother talks about you all the time." She says and I feel my cheeks heat up.

"U-um who's your brother?" I ask and she grins, just as the door to the shop opens.

"Cally!!" Hannah exclaims. I turn around to see Callum.

"I told you not to call me that in public." He groans, making me laugh. He looks to me and I smile. "Oh hey Tiffany." He smiles sheepishly and runs his hand through his hair. "I guess you met my family."

"Yea. A very nice family too."

"Well you haven't met my brother yet so-"

"What are you going on about now Callum?" A tall guy that looks exactly like Callum walks in through the open door and looks to me with a smile. "Oh hey! Tiffany, right?"

"Yep."

"I'm Aaron, Callum's older brother." Aaron says holding out his hand for me to shake, which I do.

"Nice to meet you Aaron." I say with a smile.

I really want my ice cream but just go with the flow.

"Come on. We have to get going now boys. It was nice meeting you Tiffany. You're more than welcome to come down to our pizzeria whenever you want. First one on the house." Joey says and I smile.

"Thank you, I'll definitely take you up on that offer." I say and he nods.

"It was nice to finally meet you Tiffany." Esther says with a warm smile and I nod.

When they all said their goodbyes, I finally went up to Lucy and order a pistachio and chocolate two scoop waffle cone. Along with two tubs of ice cream. One caramel peanut butter brittle, the other boysenberry blast.

"Can I pay for everything now and take the tubs before I leave. I just don't want them to melt." I tell Lucy and she smiles.

"Yes of course darling. So how are you?" She asks me, as she scoops up a scoop of chocolate ice cream.

"I'm feeling way better than I was a few days ago. I've been sick. How are you?" I ask and she smiles.

"That's good you're feeling better. I'm good also. It's been busy the last few days here, but I'm used to it." She tells me, scooping up a scoop of pistachio and suddenly an idea comes to mind.

"Hey Lucy? Is there any jobs available here?" I ask her and she looks up to me.

"We haven't really employed anyone for years. And I guess the help could be useful, you know." She says and I smile,

"Does that mean you'll take me?" I ask.

I figured getting a job will be good since I'll have some cash I can spend. I really do hate using the guy's money even though Tyler said it's nothing to worry about.

"Of course. Are you able to start tomorrow?" I nod. "Great, then you're hired. We'll just start with you making the ice cream cones for a few weeks and then if your ready we'll put you on the till. Sound good?" She asks handing me over my ice cream and I smile.

"Sounds great! Thank you soo much!" I say, handing over fifteen dollars.

I then take a seat at one of the tables.

"It's really no problem at all." She says taking a seat in front of me since there's no customer's in here. "How you liking it here in this town?"

"It's different. I do miss my family though." I say and she nods,

"I can understand that. I moved away from my family fifteen years ago, they come down and visit me every now and then, especially my sister who works here on occasion." She tells me and I nod, licking my ice cream.

We sit down talking about things people normally talk about when getting to know each other. I found out Lucy's thirty and has a family of her own. She even has a little son that she promises that I'll meet some day soon. Her husband is the town's policeman. After a little bit, she goes back to work as customer's started coming into the store.

After a little while when I finish my ice cream cone, I pick up the two tubs of ice cream I brought and head back to the house.

When I get back, I sit myself on the couch with the caramel peanut butter brittle ice cream and watch a movie that's on, which is 'Meet The Fockers'.

Some time during the movie Tyler joins me on the lounge watching the movie. Kyle was still sick sleeping up in his room. I guess I could say I kinda miss him... well the arrogant him. After the kiss he gave me, I thought about avoiding him, but I guess trying to forget about it and acting normal around him is just easier. Well acting normal is, forgetting isn't. I swear that kiss came into my dreams a few times.

Around five thirty Tyler decides to start making dinner, tonight's pick being pasta. So I decide to help, even though it's not that hard to make, just put the pasta in the water and the sauce in a pan and done. Turns out Tyler makes pasta from scratch. I guess cooking is a natural hobby of his and he really enjoys it.

"Ready for training when Kyle gets better?" Tyler asks as we sit down at the table and start eating dinner.

"Yes and no. Conaway should be better by tomorrow, so more training for me." I say, putting some pasta in my mouth and moaning at the taste of this pasta. The best I've ever had. "This is amazing."

"I know. It's cause I made it." Tyler says and I laugh.

"Everything you make is amazing Ty. Why don't you start your own restaurant or something?" I ask and he shrugs,

"It's too much trouble. Either way I like my life how it is." He says and I smile.

"Understandable." I say, eating some more pasta.

"So why don't you have a boyfriend yet Tiffany?" Tyler asks randomly and my eyes widen.

"B-boyfriend. How do you know I don't have one?" I ask, raising a brow.

"Cause you don't and you're blushing."

That makes me go even redder, making him smirk.

"Look, I've had trouble with guys in the past. Guys only want sex and I don't want to be the one to give into them. Self respect you know." I say and he nods. I take a sip of water from my cup.

"So you're a virgin?" A voice states from behind me, making me spit my water out.

I gasp looking at Tyler's face which is now dripping with water and my spit. Ew, even I find that disgusting.

"Oh my gosh! I'm soo sorry." I rush out in panic.

"Don't worry. It's nothing really, little-T." Tyler says.

"Argh, again with the nicknames."
