Chapter Fifteen

Tiffany's POV:

As I walk in the kitchen the following morning I find a girl with nothing but a t-shirt, that just covers her butt and under garnets on. I watch carefully from the corridor. Did someone have a one night stand? This girl is really pretty too. Her hair isn't naturally blonde as you can see her regrowths but it suits her. Her long hair has natural waves flowing down her back and is definitely not wearing any hair extensions- well I don't think so anyway. She's pretty tall, but not as tall as Tyler or Kyle.

It makes me wonder who the hell she is.

The girl jumps and lets out a small surprised scream, which cuts me out of my thoughts- I must have been staring and scared her.

"Uh, who are you?" I ask her. Looking at her face now makes her even prettier, her blue eyes sparkling under the kitchen light.

"Skylar. Who are you?" She's asks me with wide eyes. She's not scared I can tell you that much, just curious.

"Tif-" Before I could even finish she starts talking again.

"Tiffany? As in the girl that has the Elementaret in her?" I nod cautiously.

"Well yeah. How do you know that? And why are you in this house?"

She lets out a light chuckle, "Oh sweetie. I live here. And to your other question I know that because I am part of The Protectors."

Live here? I am rightfully confused right now.

"Live here? Are you sure? I haven't seen you around before and I suppose your Kyle's- Um well, you're his-" Trying to find the word she looks at me with a smirk as in to say continue, she looks amused by this to be honest. "You're his pleasurable fun."

I couldn't help but think of what a complete idiot I looked like when I said that, cause she starts cracking up laughing, throwing her head back and everything.

"Y-you thi-" She couldn't finish her sentence as she couldn't stop herself from laughing. Once she starts to calm down she starts to giggle lightly. "You think we're having sex. With m-"

"Skylar! Put on some pants! Jeez how many times do I have to tell you. Gosh, I knew this was a bad idea."

I look between them confused. How many times has she been here exactly?

"Sorry Ky, but your little girlfrien-"

"We're not together!" I exclaim the same time Kyle yells, "She's not my girlfriend!"

"Whoever she is then, thinks we've been having sex."

Kyle looks at her horrified. And then to me and back to her.

"I think I just puked in my mouth. That's just gross and disturbing. Ew." Kyle cringes.

"That's my brother. Tiffany, my brother." She states pointing at him with every word she says.

I can't help but smile sheepishly.

"Sorry, but it's just- You don't look alike at all."

"Oh I know." Kyle says, "We get that statement a lot. But she's just my older sister." He says, now standing beside her and ruffling her hair. Skylar just tries to whack his hand away.

"Kyle!" She screeches, "Don't touch my hair!!" Shoving Kyle out of the way and lightly hitting him- I wouldn't call it lightly seeming Kyle squeals a few times.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to hit me? Your hits hurt!"

"Hm, the same amount I tell you not to touch my hair!"

I just stand there watching the two siblings argue and throw hits every now and then.

Tyler soon walks in the kitchen with an annoyed look on his face, obviously not happy having to deal with his siblings at- I turn to look at the clock and it's just past eight.

"What's with all the racket?" He asks, looking like a zombie with black bags under his eyes. His hand running through his hair, messing it up.

"Oh hey Ty!" Skylar waves enthusiastically, "Just catching up with our little brother." She says ruffling Kyle's hair, she also has him in a head lock.

"Well keep the noise down." He says and then as if he just realised something gives them a look, one I don't know. "Don't you two have something you need to do?" He asks with a raised brow.

Kyle and Skylar look at each other and back to Tyler, as if remembering something. Skylar rolls her eyes and let's Kyle go, he just glares at her and walks away. As Skylar passes me she gives me a small warm smile.

"Be careful with that one." She whispers pointing to Tyler. Then says loudly. "I'll be home by three. Tiffany you better be ready then cause we're going shopping!"

Oh. Hell. No.

"Y-you se-"

"See ya later!" She says and skips off out of the kitchen.

Right.

"Don't worry about her. She's as annoying as it gets." He says with a playful smile. Skylar pokes her head back in the room and glares at Tyler.

"I heard that." She says and skips off again.

"Anyways, do you want some breaky? Waffles with some syrup?" He asks me and I shrug.

"Sure." I shrug. He leans down and lightly kisses my lips, his arms slipping around my waist.

Someone coughs, interrupting us.

"I know you want to get in her pants and all, but so does Kyle and he's standing by the door sending glares in your direction." Skylar says randomly and I look to her with wide eyes, I can feel my cheeks heating up rapidly. She sends a small smirk in my direction.

Tyler closes his eyes and groans. "What do you want Sky?"

"Oh you know, a new set of clothes." She shrugs with a bright smile. Tyler glares at her. "Okay fine. I just need some money to fill up my car, I just spent the last of my money yesterday, and now I have none. So..."

Tyler tries not to look annoyed but he does, he gets his wallet out of his pocket and hands her two fifties.

"Thank you, Ty! I owe you one!" She sings and skips out the room.

"Yeah, you said that last time." He mutters and then looks back to me, "I'll get started on breakfast, you go and get dressed." He tells me, kissing the top of my head.

I nod, and head upstairs. Putting on the first outfit I find. Which is basically a white long sleeve blouse and a nice dark red skirt that just reached above my knees. Matching them with a pair of black and gold sandals. I quickly head back stairs to find Cal sitting at the breakfast bar.

"Cal!" I exclaim, walking faster and giving him a hug, which he returns.

"Tiffany! How are you?" He asks and I smile.

"I'm good. How are you?"

"I'm great. Now I wanted to ask you if you want to hang out today?" He asks me and I shrug.

"Only if you want to. Where would we go?" I ask him and he smiles.

"I know of a place."

"Can we stop by Lucy's and get some ice cream?" I say, and he shakes his head while nodding.

"I don't see why we can't."

A voice clears and we turn to see Tyler, looking amused. "Well, seeming like you two have made plans. I have plans of my own. On Friday me and you are going on a date." Tyler tells me and I nod.

"Awesome. I can't wait." I say, sending him a smile and taking a seat at the breakfast bar.

Going on a date sounded like a good idea at first but, I don't know. I think I lost all excitement towards the date- well not all but-

"Here you go. Some lovely waffles with some chocolate syrup, ice cream and strawberries." Tyler says, placing the plate in front of me with a knife and fork, then pecking my cheek.

"Thanks Ty." I say, digging into the delicious food immediately.

When we get to Lucy's, Lucy wasn't working as she was sick but we still brought some ice cream, my flavour being bubblegum and pistachio, Cal's flavour being chocolate and cookies and cream.

Then we went on a lovely walk in the park, just talking, sitting by the lake and watching ducks swim around, then we talked some more.

It was a really fun day.

When we get back to the Conaway residence, it's well past four. But when we did get back Skylar immediately comes out of nowhere.

"I've been waiting here for you to go shopping. Where have you been?" She exclaims.

But Callum comes to my rescue.

"Sky, leave her alone. She needs some rest." Cal looks to me and nods, telling me to go. "Sky you really need to cut down on your shopping sprees."

"Well Cal, I haven't actually been shopping in ages. Since I've been busy with work these last few months."

Is the last thing I hear her say, and head straight to my room. When I get to my room and close the door I walk to my bed and find a box, more specially an iPhone six box. A piece of paper sitting on top of it with my name on it. I open it and read the message.

Tiff,

I thought you might need a phone. Seeming I haven't seen you with your own, I went out of my way and brought you one.

No need to thank me.

No doubt who this is from. There is only one person in this world who would dare call me Tiff. But why would he buy me an expensive phone. A really expensive phone.

And why the iPhone six? Out of all phones he could have gotten me, he brought me an iPhone six. I should be grateful but I should really give it back.

I shake my head, taking the box and storming out of the room. No longer tired, I bang on Kyle's bedroom door.

"Kyle!" Knock. Knock. "Kyle! Open this damn door right now!"

I go to bang on his door again only this last knock didn't feel like the door. I look up alert and see a shirtless Kyle. Out of all the times I had to see him. Ignoring the little voice in my head telling me not to go in, I push him out of the way and storm in his room, turning to face him.

"Uh-"

"Kyle! What the hell is this?" I exclaim pointing to the box and placing it down on his dresser.

Your over exaggerating. A voice in my head whispers, but I quickly tell it to shut up.

"Oh. So it's about the phone." He mutters, muttering something else under his breathe that I didn't quite hear but he continues. "Keep it. You need one so, you got one."

"Kyle." I take a deep breath. "I didn't ask for a phone. Just take it back, it's too much."

"Oh my god. It's not a bit deal.Tiffany just take it."

"No! We're not even friends!" I exclaim. I see his expression change and he's starting to look frustrated. "Kyle, please just take it back." I tell him a lot quieter. I go to leave the room but Kyle catches my arm.

"Just keep it. Either way, it's not returnable." He tells me and I shake my head frustrated.

"I. Don't. Want. A. Phone." I grit out, then adding. "Especially that one."

"Oh my god. This is stupid. Fighting over a phone. Just keep it." He says grabbing the phone and putting the box in my hands.

"Kyle. I don't want it." I tell him and put it back where I left it before. I go to leave the room but pause and turn to face him. "Why'd you buy it for me anyways? I thought-"

He puts his finger to my mouth, pausing from say anything he gives me a look I haven't seen before, but before I can discover what it is, it disappears.

"Tiff. Just take it. Please." He whispers quietly. He picks the box back up and puts it back in my hand. "I've already set it up for you, with all our numbers in case of an emergency." He tells me quietly, I nod silently.

Not entirely sure what happened with me. It's like he has some sort power over me. I go to silently leave but he stops me once more placing a kiss on my cheek. A kiss that makes my whole body freeze. A kiss that sends tingles through my body. A kiss that makes me giddy inside. Even Tyler's kiss didn't make me feel that good.

"Be careful." He whispers before he turns around and walks back over to the bathroom.

"I'll pay you back." I call after him. How much do I owe him? It's an iPhone for goodness sake.

But he gives me one last glance before saying, "No need." Before closing the door behind him.

My body relaxes and I quickly close his bedroom door and hurry back to my own room, closing the door and sitting on the edge of my bed.

You over exaggerated. The same voice says again and I feel like screaming.

I was staring myself in the mirror, trying to figure out if I look alright. I was wearing a light blue high waisted circle skirt that was an inch above my knees, with a white lace sweetheart neckline boob tube shirt. My short blonde hair out with the natural curls that came from sleeping with my hair in a plait. I finish off my look with a pair of tan flats, they were simple and match the outfit.

After what happened with Kyle, I don't know what I feel. Tyler's a good guy, I know he is. And at heart, Kyle is a good guy too. Just the exterior shows he's arrogant, making anyone believe he is always going to be a jerk. Even I believe it sometimes, but he truly is a good guy. I wouldn't be here right now if it wasn't for him, gosh I could have been dead.

A knock on the door startles me and I turn to see it was just Skylar.

"Hey Tiff-"

"Tiffany. I don't like being called Tiff." I tell her.

I don't know why I let Kyle call me Tiff. Maybe it's because he never listens to me when I tell him or maybe it's because I kind of like it when Kyle calls me Tiff. I guess Kyle is the only one allowed to call me by that name because it's different when it comes from him.

"Tee then?" I nod and gives me a small smile. "Tee, can we talk?"

"Sure." I give her a smile and walk over to sit on the edge of my bed. Once she closes the door she does the same.

"Are you sure about this date with Ty? I mean like, I've heard stories from both Cal and Aaron and they both say the same thing."

Now I'm confused. "What stories did they tell?"

She smiles and then continues, "Well that Kyle sort of has been a jerk to you- which I totally believe- but then they said Tyler tried to set you two up, by sending you on a date with Aaron to make Kyle jealous. Now I think that was totally wrong, Ty sending you on a date with another guy to make his own brother jealous. Now if I think about it, Tyler's not like that. At all."

"What are you saying Skylar?" I ask her quietly. She puts her hand over mine and gives me a sympathetic smile.

"Tee, are you sure you're dating the right brother? Are you sure you want to be with Tyler and not Kyle."

I look down at the floor just staring at it.

"Choose carefully Tee. I don't want to see either of my brother's hearts broken but I don't want to see yours broken either." She laughs humourlessly, "You might think I'm a bit of a weirdo, but if you need someone to talk to- preferably a girl- then I'm here for you." I bite my lip when she says, "Just letting you know, I'd prefer it if you call me, Sky."

"Thanks for the advice, Sky." I say giving her a small smile.

"Do what's best for you, not what's best for the people around you." Skylar says, giving me one last smile and leaves the room.

What is best for me? I don't want to choose. I'd end up hurting, the guys will end up hurting. I don't want that. At all. I bite my lip thinking of what I should do and then I decide. I won't choose either of the brothers. I'd prefer to be single.

I eye the box sitting on the dressing table, soon deciding to see what this phone is really like, so when I got it out of the box, I realise there is an aqua blue tribal print phone case already on it, and it's my favourite colour. I unlock it and decide to go through the contact list to see who's on it. I have Sky, Tyler, Kyle, Lucy, Cal, Aaron and a few other contacts, some I don't know who they are, the others are for fast food places.

I press on a number and wait for the person to pick up the phone.

"Hello?"

"Hey, Lucy! It's Tiffany. I was wondering if you have any shifts available for the next few weeks?" I ask her, fidgeting with the things on my dresser.

"Hey, Tiffany! Yea, I could make something possible for you. I haven't seen you in ages, I just thought you didn't like the job."

"Oh, no no. I really love the job. It's just some things came up and I don't have a phone, well I do now, so-"

"It's ok Tiffany. I'll set up a part time roster for you and I'll print it off for you asap."

"Thank you, soo much. I'll make sure to be a good employee this time and I'll be sure to contact you if I won't be coming in."

"All goods. You're a very good employee so I'll be happy to have you. I'll give you a call later, okay?"

"Okay, cya Lucy." I say and click end on the phone.

At least I get my job back. That'll keep me busy, and in the mornings I'll be training. So it will work.

"Hey, you ready to go?" A voice asks from the bedroom door and I look up to see Tyler all dressed up and instantly feel really bad.

"Hey." I say quietly, soon deciding to get it over with and tell him. "I'm sorry to do this to you but I don't think we should go on a date. It's just, I don't feel right having a relationship or even dating at the moment." I tell him and really feel bad when his smile drops.

"It's okay." I know it's not okay. He's lying. "Do you want to hang out then?" He asks me and I shake my head slowly.

"I actually have a few things to do today. I'm really sorry Ty."

"It's all goods. We're still friends right?" He asks me and I nod slowly.

"Of course. I'll see you later then." I say with a small awkward smile.

"Laterz." Tyler nods and waves at me and walks out of the room.

Gee, this is going to be soo awkward from now on, but I have a feeling I did the right thing.
