MATILDA! CHAPTER FOUR:
BONEYARD KEGGERS

Scooter Grubbs had been pulled from the marsh and put on a stretcher. JJ was on her left and John B was on her right. her Scooter Grubbs was the last person Liz expected to be found in the marsh. it seemed really shady to her. She'd seen Scooter trying to pawn off things to buy one single cigarette. What the hell was he doing out that far?

"Six seven. Call the me" a paramedic said

They watched as scooters body was put on a stretcher and taken away

"Scooter?" Mrs Lana cooed as she walked towards his body that laid on the stretcher  "Scooter? Oh, god!" She exclaimed

"Oh my god" Liz gaped at the lady who was in tears. She'd talked to Mrs Lana a few times throughout the years.

"Who's that?" John B asked

"It's Scooter Grubbs. He was out during the storm" the girl beside John B explained, showing them a picture of the body from her phone "dead body"

"What kind of boat did he have?" JJ asked

"Somehow, that dirtbag copped a brand new Grady-white. Everyone's out looking for it" Liz looked between John B and JJ

The next day, they sat in John Bs room deciding what to do with the money and be able to stay low. "For the record, if that is a smuggling ship, with illegal contraband on the inside of it, it probably belongs to someone else"

"Minor details" Liz muttered "they wouldn't know there was money... and if they saw it they'd think Scooter robbed a bank or something"

"They could come looking for it, taking it would be a catastrophically stupid"

"Right. Well, stupid things have good outcomes all the time" JJ stated his philosophy, that he had been using since they were young "all we need to do is figure out a way to get into the cargo hold of that wreck, until than we jsut lay low. Just act normal"

"Right, and how exactly do we do that?"

"Kegger?" Kie suggested

They went to the boneyard, one of the few places all three classes got along. The pogues, there friends and family... Than the Kooks. The rich kids, And than the tourons, clueless people who are here on a family vacation

Liz did have a couple drinks and even chugged one with JJ— and it was surprisingly fun. Liz and JJ threw down their cups and everyone cheered loudly as Liz laughed, almost falling forwards but thankfully JJ held her up, with a hand around her upper waist.

Cassie found Kie and they walked to John B who was talking to a random girl— probably a tourist. "What is she doing here?" Kie asked looking towards Sarah and Topper.

Sarah Cameron—Kook princess, Kies best friend in the ninth grade...Kies worst enemy in the tenth grade. Then there's Topper, her not so pleasant boyfriend. Topper actually thinks pogues were bred to mow lawns.

oh and there's a the kick of the Tommy Jacobs. He used to be a pogue, than his parents got a huge promotion and after he moved to figure 8 and became friends with Topper and Kelce he broke up with Liz... He also borderline played with Buffy's feelings and since than JJ has been more than hostile with him.

As it got darker more people came. JJ gave John B and her had another beer as Sarah andTopper walked near. Liz stood between JJ and John B.

"Oh hey Sarah, can I interest you in a tasty Milwaukee beverage?" JJ asked, completely ignoring the other blonde beside her.

"No thanks" she politely declined

"Oh, come on, Is it not fancy enough for you?"

"No, we were just leaving" Topper answered for Sarah, but JJ kept pushing

"You know what, I'll take it- thank you man i appreciate it" Topper said

"That's nice but I didn't ask you, if you said pretty please, maybe, but you didn't"

"Oh, pretty please"

"So Sarah, you can have it" JJ tried to hand the cup to Sarah but Topper another hand quickly smacked it out of JJs hands— Tommy.

"She doesn't want it" Tommy yelled before JJ grabbed his shirt and shoved him but John b and Liz pulled him back from fighting anymore.

"You're so funny, man"

"Hey"

"Topper!"

"Dirty pouges!" Topper yelled, John B pushed Topper as the two Began to fight.

"were supposed to be Incognito remember?" Pope yelled

"Babe, Babe-" Sarah begged Topper to stop but he punched John B sending him down into the shallow water and kicking him

"Hey John B don't make me drown you like your old man" Topper said kicking him again but He got up when Topper wasn't listening and tackled him into the water

"Topper stop!" Liz screamed "Topper! Quit it!"

"Give it to him!" Tommy yelled from behind the group

"John B let it go!"

"Stop you guys!" They both started to punch at each other's gut

"Topper stop!" Sarah yelled. The crowd started to chant 'fight'

Topper flipped John b into the water and started to hold him down

"Topper!"

"Topper stop!" Liz yelled white crying. Topper held John B in the water by his head

"He's gonna drown him!" Liz mind went completely blank seeing John B being drowned that she hadn't even realized JJ walked behind Topper with a gun and put it to the back of his head, pulling the safety guard. Liz widened her eyes and put a hand out, slightly stepping towards JJ.

"JJ put the gun down!" Liz yelled—But He didn't listen "JJ!"

"Yeah, you know what that is" JJ said "your move Broski"

"JJ stop!" Liz yelled again "JJ!"

"Did you say something princess?"

"We're good, we're good" Topper said, raising his arms

"Put the gun down!"

"Kie, can you check your Psycho friend please?" Sarah said

"Check your psycho boyfriend!" Kie yelled back

JJ hold the gun in the air "okay everyone listen up! Get the hell off our side of the island!" He shouted, and shot the gun two times in the air scaring everyone off before Liz ran towards him and knocked the gun from his hands as he looked down at her his expression changed. She cupped his face and shook her head .

"No, no JJ don't do that" She told him and JJ nodded before Liz looked towards the water, seeing John B beginning to fall back.

"John B!"
