"This is the north drain" JJ told them as they walked to the sewer "it should've gotten washed into the gully. So if it got flushed out from this drain it would've been pushed out to like—"

"Somewhere in this trash?" Pope finished the sentence for JJ. Kie sighed

"Oh my god people who use plastic should be shot" Kie complained

"Okay, personally I love plastic. Use it everyday. Love the stuff."

"Hopefully you recycle it and don't let it flush into the ocean"

"I thought you'd say something like that. So.." Pope pulled out a bag of trash bags "trash bags"

"Did you just proactively protect the environment?" Kie asked with a smile on her face

"Maybe"

"you two want us to leave you alone, or what's going on?" JJ asked before Pope through the trash bags towards JJ

"Just pick up the trash" Pope ordered

"feisty Pope" Liz said with a giggle

After an hour of. picking up all the trash, there was no gun. They had six bags of trash filled up by the end of it. Liz wiped her forehead with her arm.

"Well that was fun"

"If it's not in the trash, it's gotta be somewhere in the storm drain"

"It's in... it's in the storm drain"

"Dammit"

"Of course it is"

"Good thing I brought the crow"

"So are we gonna do like Rock Paper Scissors?"

"Or Alphabetically?" Liz asked

"Nah, on three Pope, one, two, three" they pulled the drains door off

"It like, the oldest goes?"

"In the sewer, there's a worm that you get when your down there. It gets into your blood and that it has to come out your pecker— so Uh, thag would be a hard pass for me"

"That's gonna be a no for me" Liz and Kie looked at each other for a moment

"No we get it. Totally get it" Kie said

"You guys are scared" Liz laughed

"I'll do it" Liz volunteered "I'll go storm drain scuba diving"

"I'll go with you" Kie told the girl

"Okay"

"Okay, just, you know. Be careful" Pope said to Kie

"I deserve that"

Liz got down to go into the pipe, and JJ stopped her for a minute "be safe okay?" JJ told her

"Yeah, totally. I'll be so safe" Liz chucked as she also mocked JJ and Pope from at the Crain house, and he pursed his lips nodding before Liz entered the drain, Kie behind her.

"Just, Uh, holler if you need anything okay? We'll Uh... holler back"

"Very helpful, thank you" Kie said

Liz's mind immediately thought of the Gwen Stefani song 'Hollaback girl', slightly started to mumble it

'A few times I've been around that track so it's just gonna happen like—"

"Are you seriously singing Gwen Stefani right now Liz?" Kie asked

"Kie I need to distract myself from the fact we're in the dirty ass sewer" Liz told her "Shit" she groaned in disgust

"Guys, you didn't anything yet?" JJs voice yelled from behind them

"Yeah, do you see the gun?"

"Nothing"

"It's probably at the bottom of the catch basin"

Liz climbed through into the main sewer, her shorts getting wet from the sewer water, and she looked up at the manhole where some light came down. Liz and Kie used their hands to search the bottom of the sewer.

"People are so shitty" Kie said

"Tell me about it" Liz scrunched her nose at all the random garbage and waste. Liz felt something at the bottom and paused abruptly.

"Kie I think I found something come here" Kie came beside Liz

"Guys I think we got something!" Liz called to JJ and Pope

Kie and Liz picked it up out of the water to see something that looked dead, it was an unexplainable thing but they immediately dropped it

"Guys there's somethings dead in here!" They yelled

"Is it— like a person?" Liz and Kie both screamed, shouting random 'oh my gods'

"There's something dead! I repeat!"

"Like a person?"

"There is something dead in here!"

"Guys don't touch it that's how you get worms!"

"Did you find the gun? Is it Gavin?"

"What is it?"

"don't touch it!"

"is it a gun? Do you see the gun? Do you see anything?"

"You guys owe us for life!"

Liz stopped her screaming as she heard the water start gurgling, and felt it rising slightly more. Liz turned around. "Oh shit" She muttered

"Guys?" Kie yelled

"Guys, the water!"

"Kiara! Liz! Get outta there now!" Pope yelled towards them. Kie and Liz started climbing the latter to avoid getting splashed.

"We don't have enough time! Guys!"

"Shit, oh no!"

Liz looked down at the water as JJ and Popes voices filled her head. She saw a black object and without thinking jumped for it before it would disappear. She almost fell into the water while grasping the object but Kie grabbed the back of Liz shorts and pulled her back.

"Liz what are you doing?" Kie yelled as Liz put it in her back pocket. Kie pulled her up and they went up the latter more.

"Please!" Liz and Kie screamed "JJ!"

"Pope!"

"Guys!" Liz and Kie screamed "hell! We're over here!"

"Kiara!"

"Liz! Guys were coming!"

"Guys we're over here!" Kie screamed as they saw JJ and Pope lean down next to them. Liz's eyes met JJs worried ones as she put her fingers through the manhole.

"The water is coming up!"

"Kiara!"

"Liz!"

"Pull it! Pull it!" Liz and Kie both pushed on the manhole as JJ and Pope pulled on it. The water was filling up quicker as Kie and Liz screamed

"Hurry!" Liz yelled

"Pope! Pope! Please!"

"JJ, please get us out!" Liz begged

"We're gonna get you guys out of there I promise" Pope said

"We're gonna get you guys okay?"

"JJ! Pope!" Liz screamed as the water was almost over her face. Liz whimpered before she was submerged under the water. She pushed on the railing as her lungs begged for air under the dirty water.

After a few seconds the manhole opened, Liz and Kie both jumping up coughing. Big girls laid on the ground catching their breath, Liz got up on her knees. Pope tried to hug Kiara but she pushed him off. JJ got beside Liz in concern.

"You guys good?" He asked

"Never better" Liz and Kie both held a thumbs up as JJ chuckled. Liz got back up straight, and reached back to grab the gun from her pants. She pulled it out.

"This isn't what we were looking for, right?" She smiled, looking up at JJ who broke out into a huge smile, the others laughing almost in disbelief as JJ took the gun from Liz with a cloth.

"Oh my god, we're gonna get this sun of a bitch man!" JJ smiled as he helped Liz up, hugging her gently know if she was still trying to catch her breath.

"You did it, guys, you did it!" JJ brought the others into the hug

"Let's get this to Shoupe" Pope told them

They sat in Shoupes office, and put the gun down infront of him. Liz and Kie stunk of sewage water as JJ and Pope stood behind them.

"So y'all are telling me this is the firearm, Rafe Cameron killed Peterkin with?"

"That's exactly what we're telling you Shoupe"

"And the exact same firearm Ward just used to kill Gavin" Liz told him

"I— and where's that corpse again?"

"Didn't you look?"

"I checked the hospital. I went by his house. He was out" Shoupe explained to them

"He was out?"

"No shit Shoupe because he's dead!" Liz exclaimed at him

"Listen to yourself! It makes perfect sense!"

"Just because he's not at his damn home does not mean he was a victim of a homicide"

"I told you this was gonna happen" JJ muttered

"What are you talking about?"

"You gotta be kidding, are you at least gonna send it in for ballistics and shit or are you just gonna sit on your ass?" Liz exclaimed at the man

"He'll sit here and wax that damn moustache! Is that even real?"

"I'll wax this—" Shoupe got up

"JJ shut up!" Pope told the blonde

"It's not fair!"

"Oh I'm sorry did I hurt his feelings"

"Shut up!" Pope yelled at JJ again

Shoupe opened the door to his office
"Get out. I got work to do"

"Are you serious?"

"Y'all are smelling up my damn office" Liz stood up and walked to Shoupe standing in front of him "Did Ward bribe you?" She asked "this doesn't make any sense, you know he did it Shoupe" Liz's voice started to sound more exausted, before leaving the building with Kie following behind her

JJ brought Liz over to his place to shower, and get cleaned up. She felt the water hit her face as she washed her body and hair making sure she wasn't gonna smell. She wrapped herself in a towel and dried herself off. JJ left a pile off some of his clothes she could wear on the toilet. A hoodie, and a pair of his boxers. She slipped them on and stepped out of the bathroom and to the living room where JJ was waiting.

"God I feel so much better now" Liz said

"You smell better too" JJ joked and Liz laughed sarcastically before bringing him into a kiss. She cupped the sides of his face before moving her arms around his neck resting on his shoulders. She started trailing off down to his neck.

"Liz" JJ groaned "Liz" he said in a more serious tone

"do you wanna hook up?" Liz asked randomly making JJ widen his eyes and grab her shoulders— usually he would jump at any girl who'd ever asked him that but Liz had never been like this before. She'd completely flipped since John B left.

"Are you sure? you look tired and you've been acting really wack recently, and I don't wanna force you into—" Liz stoped him from talking by kissing him.

"I'm positive J" Liz bit her bottom lip slightly and JJ sighed 

"Okay"

Liz smiled at the blonde before bringing him into a kiss, JJs hands slowly made their way to Liz's waist.
