106. YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL AND YOU ARE MINE

"I thought I lost you," Darian mumbled under his breath.

"You almost did, I didn't want to ever come back home." She smiled, stroking his fingers.

"I am sorry once again, do you want me to go on and say sorry a million times?" He locked eyes with Lena for a split second before looking down at her hand that was resting on his.

Lena nodded her head, "Yes, Darian. Say sorry a million times."

"I thought you said you'd forgiven me." He grimaced, sighing softly.

"Darian," she pouted, letting go of his hand.

He took her hands back and started, "I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry azz going to let me do this?" He glared at her.

Smiling sheepishly, Lena nodded her head. "Go on." She nudged him with her hands.

"How about I do something else that you will like?" He inched closer to her, sealing the space between them. Lena shifted back but Darian didn't let her move too far. "I am sorry, but I am sure you will like this better." He leaned forward, drooping his head to her level. "My wife," he gently kneaded her lips with his fingers.

Lena felt a rapid thump in her heart, and she closed her eyes, anticipating what was coming next. Her eyes were still closed when she felt the moistness of Darian's lips on hers, she sighed satisfactorily and relaxed to let him take full charge of her lips.

He teased her lips for a bit before properly kissing her, he started slowly and soon it got intense as they hungrily nibbled on each other's lips. They've missed each other so much, there was a loud beat in their hearts as their lips moved in sync with each other. The kiss was slow, sensual and mind-blowing, exactly what they needed after being without each other for days. Darian breathed hard, breaking the kiss.

He took Lena's hands in his and smiled a smile that reached his eyes. "I love you." He whispered in a low voice.

Lena fell into his arms, her head buried in his chest. She was filled with so much love from him, just too much and she wanted that kind for life.

After a while, Darian spoke out. "Let's cut the cake."

Lena chuckled, "I wonder why you got a cake. Who told you that you could apologize by getting a cake?"

Darian shrugged, it was Jay's idea. "What do you want me to get for you?" He asked, smiling at her.

"I just want you to be faithful to me, Darian." She stated frankly. She forgave him because she couldn't live without him and he seemed intentional about his apology, but she wasn't sure she'd let it go if Darian ever cheated on her again. This first time broke her, she didn't even want to think of what would happen to her if he did again.

"It's a promise, Lena." He kissed her fingers. "I am sorry," he said again and she nodded.

"Darian, if we want this marriage to work, we have to be communicative and expressive. Let me know whenever I err and I will let you know when you are on the wrong side. To avoid hurting each other again, we have to be open to each other, trust each other and talk to each other about our likes and dislikes."

"I am not too good with matters of the heart, but I am certain of the fact that I love you. Lena," he called sadly. "I am not perfect, not anywhere close to being perfect. But I want to be perfect for you and you only, I want to be the kind of man you love."

"You are the kind of man I love," she chirped in. "You are the perfect man for me."

"I don't think I am, I hurt you, Lena. I wouldn't have hurt you if I was the perfect man for you. But you know what I want?" He asked and she widened her eyes, not looking away from him.

"What do you want?" She asked.

"I want you to teach me, Lena. I want you to correct me when I am wrong. I want you to help me be the perfect man for you, I don't want to hurt you anymore."

"Darian." Her voice came out as a whisper. "I am not perfect as well, but I do know that we can help each other to be perfect."

"You are perfect for me, Lena. You are the best thing in my life, the one who illuminates my life with her glow. Having you in my life makes me a better person, I don't want another version of you, Lena. I want this Lena, my wife, the one who showed and taught me how to love. The only woman in the whole world for me. The woman who made me realize loving someone can be beautiful and peaceful. Lena Dawson, before I met you, I never knew what it means to love someone. You showed me the real meaning of love and I don't want to ever lose you." He pulled her closer and planted a kiss on her forehead. "My words to you are true, Lena."

"I know and my feelings for you are real." Closing her eyes, she declared. "I love you so much, Darian."

"I love you more." He closed his eyes, inhaling the sweet scent of her apple shampoo. "Don't leave the house whenever you are mad at me, I was scared you'd never come back home when you left this morning."

Lena laughed, "Why didn't you stop me?"

"You are so stubborn, you would still have gone even if I tried to stop you." He said.

"I was mad and needed to clear my head."

"Did you tell your Dad what happened between us?" He asked her.

"No, I felt there was no need to let him know. It's our business, we should handle it between ourselves." She replied.

"You didn't tell Lisa too?" He let go of her and looked at her.

"No, was I meant to tell her?" She arched her eyebrows at him.

"Oh, I am safe." Darian placed his hand on his chest.

"Are you scared of what Lisa would do to you?" She laughed.

"I don't want to get in the bad books of my wife's best friend."

"Don't worry, you are still in her good books. She likes you a lot." Lena assured him. She smiled, but the smile faltered when she remembered Thelma. "About Thelma…"

"I cut ties with her even before she came here to tell you those things. You don't have to worry about her, she shouldn't be a threat to our marriage. I knew her before I met you, but I didn't want her. You are the only woman I want, Lena."

"I just feel she might still," he shushed her by placing his fingers on her lips.

"Trust me, Lena. I will make sure she doesn't come between us anymore."

"I will trust you on that." She smiled, he already gave her his words and she wanted to trust him. It was obvious they loved each other and that would stand no matter what happened between them.

Darian stretched out his hand to get the cake, he got to his feet and heaved Lena with his other hand. "Come with me to the kitchen." He hauled her down to the kitchen. When they got in, he rinsed his hand and got hold of a small knife.

Cutting the cake into two halves, he sliced one half into tiny bits and shoved it down Lena's mouth.

She laughed as she chomped on the cake, "Do you want to sit down?" He asked and she nodded her head like a baby. He hoisted her up, placing her on the countertop. He kissed her cheeks, feeding her more cake until she could no longer take in more.

"You should eat too," she said in a muffled voice.

"I got the cake for you and you will eat it all. Don't worry if you can't finish it now, we will keep it and you feed on it later." He looked up at her and smiled. There was a short silence between them, he bent his head and looked up at her again. "You are beautiful and you are mine."

"You are handsome and you are mine." She said and he smiled.

"I will cook for you tonight."

"I will help out in the kitchen." She said, dangling her legs against the counter.

"No, you've been stressed out lately. You should relax and let me take care of you." He fed her a small piece of cake, she took it in and grumbled.

Lena stared at him as he skillfully cut the cake into smaller bits. She smiled, even the smallest things about him fascinated her. She was glad they made up, and she knew together, they would make their marriage work out.

Darian stopped slicing the cake when he remembered he hadn't told Lena about his mother. There was one more thing he had to tell her to avoid hurting her again.

"Here, the last one." He fed her the slice of cake and she smiled. He smiled too, thinking of how to tell her what he had in mind.
