The Letter that changed everything

"Who's Gwen?" I asked Tom as we all were walking to the dinning room for lunch.

"She used to be a housemaid here, before she left to become a secretary." Tom said pulling out my chair for me.

"You should invite her over." I said to Robert, as he nodded and sat down to eat.

After breakfast Robert went to go see Violet at her place . So that left some time for me and Tom to spend time time together, and also tell him about James and I. We had discussed it thoroughly the day before and decide that Tom would be the first one we tall since he also kind of did the forbidden romance type of thing, but with us it's a bit different. I'm technically not officially apart of the family.

"Can we go for a walk this afternoon? Just us?" I asked pulling him aside as we all went into a sitting room.

"Of course. Is something wrong?" He asked which made me smile and shake my head.

"No I just want to spend time with my brother. Is that so wrong?" I said in a teasing voice.

"No. I'll meet you outside in 10 minutes." He aid as I nodded and kissed his cheek before heading off to the closet Tom to meet up with James.

"I'm nervous." I said fiddling with my fingers.

"I wish I could come, but Mr.Carson has me and Alfred cleaning all the silver. You'll do great." He said leaning in for an kiss, that I gave him.

"Okay. I'll see you later." I said as he nodded and opened the door for me.

"Ready?" I asked walking up to Tom as he nodded and started walking. "Okay I'm just going to say it. I have something to tell you." I said as we both stopped walking and he looked at me.

"Is everything okay?" He asked grabbing my arms.

"Yes I'm okay, but what I'm about to tell you you can't tell anyone." I said as he nodded. "I'm currently seeing James." I said and waited for his reaction.

"Like the footman?" He asked as I nodded. "I'm so happy for you." He said as he hugged me.

"I'm was nervous you wouldn't approve or anything and it's not like I'm actually part of the Crawley so it's not like I need to ask them for there permission, but could we not tell them?" I asked as he nodded and hugged me again.

"I trust you and will support you in whatever way I can."

"Thank you." I said as we Continued our walk.
