Ch. 6 Player's first love

Chapter 6

Damon POV

Words were shared between him and her. I heard every single word. Every single thing Seth has that I didn’t. That’ll I’ll never have again because I gave up on it. I’ve felt it twice. The first, died and I miss her... I should stop thinking about these things. I lay on the uncomfortable couch of her apartment having to deal with her older sister glare at me with hatred or so much love that it looked like hatred. Could be either one. She was marrying Lucian; I’ll give them a month.

“You broke my sister’s heart?” The woman questioned. Straight to the question huh...? I ignored her and shut my eyes and bared the living room lights shining down on my eyelids.

“Damon... Did you...? Because if you did, you can count your ass being sued twenty five million,” She babbled. That’s loads of money to ask for. It takes me about five months to obtain that.

“You can’t sue someone because they broke a person’s heart...mentally,” I was pretty sure.

“No but I can sue you for sexual harassment,” She pressured me. This girl wasn’t the brightest of the bunch was she? How were they related? I just made a sound and ignored her once more.

“You love her don’t you?” She asked.

“No,” I answer.

“You do,” She smiled big. I didn’t have to open my eyes to tell.

“Once a upon a time I liked her but not...that,

“You know Seth and her have been best friends since they’re born. He is serious about loving Lexis. Seth is probably even going to marry her right after high school,” She explains. I felt a lightning strike me when I got the image in my head.

“Why are you telling me this bitch?” I snap and open my eyes.

“Ah, I see, you do care,” Daphne smiled manipulative. She was sitting on the couch across from me and staring like a creep.

“Care about what?” I ask.

“Even if you do love Lexis, she won’t fall for you, she never does fall for your type. So, it’s good that you give up because it’ll save you the time. Seth and her were always meant to be anyway,” Daphne raised her head and said proudly and certain. My teeth clenched together at the anger building up.

“Whatever,” I shrug it off.

“So, Damon, what kind of parties do you go to? You think you could get me into some? Could I possibly borrow twenty-five million?” Daphne asked.

“No,” I simply say.

“Parties, or borrow?”

“Both,”

“I’ll do whatever you want if you do,” She gave seducing smile.

“I thought you said you were getting married and you were in love?” I questioned her. She frowned and made a sound. Then she start provoking me some more to get what she wanted. If I let her in, I’d ruin my no prostitute reputation. I close my eyes and end up falling into a dream. Or a memory I never wanted to go back.

“Damon...!” She screamed out in laughter with her arms separated from her waist. Her mouth was wide open with shock but in happiness. I was laughing at her being all soaked and got off guard. Her black hair was wet and flat straight and lower then her chest. Her hazel eyes glimmered gold when the sunshine hit her eyes.

“You fell for that too Easily Natalie!” I pointed at her.

“Yea, well, I’ll get back at you!” She made a face and pouted her lips. I laughed at her expression. Her pink pastel top became more transparent and I could see her bra under but I wouldn’t tell her that.

“Sure you will Nat,” I called her by her long name which bothered her because I called Nathan, Nat at times.

“Hmm, for calling me that, you’ll get a punishment,” She said crossing her arms. We were in the wilderness. We were near a river that flowed into very fast rapids. It was save though. I’ve been thru it many times. I raised an eyebrow and looked over at my girlfriend interested on what it was. She smiled mischievously. I loved it when she smiled. I couldn’t stand seeing her even give a slight frown.

“What’s my punishment? I hope it’s something like kissing,” I smiled her. She rolled her hazel eyes at me and then came straight for me. She pushed her body near me. I held her and hugged her from behind. Then I noticed she was getting me wet in the process. I couldn’t care less, I was hugging her.

“Awe, I thought you were going to kiss me,” I frowned pretending to be unhappy. She raises her head up to me.

“Nah,” She shrugs “Not yet, I wanna save it.”

“Save it...?” I say in disbelieve again “Save it for what...?”

“I told you, if you we just kiss all the time, then it wouldn’t be special,” She frowned and rested her wet hair on my chest. The sun was shining down on both of us. It was a beautiful day.

“I thought you loved me?” I frowned.

“I love you,” I smiled at her and looked at her with deep eye contact. Her eyes mirrored my own eyes when she looked at me. She smiles sweetly with her pink lips. Then she pushes herself closer to me and kisses me. Having her kiss me was much different than those other girls kiss me. Then I back of her. She was falling for me too easily.

“I love you too and If...Nothing changes I want to like marry you when we grow up,” She smiles but I could see her blushing. I started to laugh. She was saying this as a joke but I actually thought about it. Me and Natalie...

“And have kids, and you’d have the car that you want and worry about it all the time more than the kids. Nathan would sleep on the couch. You’d go arm the whole house in case of psychos, aliens, zombies or vampires,” She played. I was serious about the psycho, alien, zombie and vampire things!

“I’m serious...! They’re real...! And they could kill us all!” I said in complete straight serious pale face. She took her tongue at me.

“Believe me,” I frowned.

“Nah, the only thing I believe is you love me,” She grinned and then played with my hair. I smiled and frowned. She was falling for me too easily.

“I said so but what makes you think you’re just not one of those other girls?” I questioned her.

“Because I know you, and you don’t love any of those pretty stuck up girls. You like girls who are sweet, kind, smart and occasionally have a sense of humor,” Natalie explained me my type. I remembered that I wasn’t so sure about that though.

“Well I guess then you’re not my type because you’re not any of those things except for sense of humor. Well...I mean your lips are sweet but that’s all sweet there is to you Natalie,” I fib. She was kind and smart.

“Why do you date them?” She asks.

“I don’t know...” I knew.

“Damon being a son of a rich family does not mean you should go date whoever you want. Would you cheat on me?” She asks me.

“No, I’ll never cheat on a girl,” I laughed “Even if I’m not being serious about it.” She rolls her eyes at me but believed me. She always did believe me except for the psycho, alien, zombie and vampire thing.

“Natalie, I want you to trust me,” I honestly told her.

“I trust you,” She told me as she plays with the water in the rapid.

“Then...why...are you doing this?” I ask her with deep pain looking at her. She was kneeling against the rapid. I stare down at her. The knot in my stomach came back. I remembered the reason I had came here in the first place. Her parents and Nathan told me she was missing. They didn’t know where to look for but I did. Her head wasn’t face me, she was just looking down at the rapids. Her eyes were nowhere looking into the stones that you could walk across to lead into a cave.

“Natalie, don’t do this,” I told her in a small voice letting weakness in. I could feel the tears form up in my own blue eyes.

It’s too late,” She says in a small dry voice.

“No Natalie, don’t do this, I love you, don’t go,” I said looking at her with deep pain inside my chest. My strong arm reached out for her but she wouldn’t bother to face me. All she did was look down at her death. All this time, she was in the darkness and I’ve tried so hard to get her out of it. I’ve never have made her budge did I?

“Damon, It’s too late for me... I did something I shouldn’t have done,” Natalie said and I could tell that tears were I her own eyes. What had she done? She would never tell me.

“It’s not too late! You’re only fourteen, whatever you did, it doesn’t matter,” I tried to encourage her “Even if you murdered someone, it doesn’t matter, I can cover it up for you.” I made sure that it sounded like a promise. Her head slightly tossed over me but with an dead expressionless face.

“You love me...?” She asked me.

“Of course I do!” I was frustrated.

“No,” She said quietly as if she was certain.

“What...? What do you mean no?”

“If you loved me then you’ll let me do it,” She said seriously. I looked at her nodding no. It wasn’t anywhere possible that I was going to let her do something like this. She could hate me for the rest of my life but I won’t let her take her own life.

“No, if I love you, I’d do what’s best,” I gave my answer. She let out a sigh and sat comfortable near the river. She gave a nod. I understood what she meant. A smile formed my face. She wasn’t going to go thru it.

“Okay, wait here, I’m going to call someone, they’re hardly any connection here. Stay away from the water,” I told her. She gave a nod and then stood up. She didn’t make a sound. She went silent. Then I pull out my cell phone and started to walk around trying to get a single. Then I got a full bar. I smiled but then I noticed that I was too far from where Natalie was. I was completely convinced that she wouldn’t do something this idiotic. All my trust was that she wouldn’t do something so awful to me. Then I heard Natalie’s voice calling out for me.

“Damon...!” She called out. I sighed and then walked a little bit closer to where Natalie was. I looked at her with a light smile of complete relief that this was all over. Her eyeliner was smudged.

“Yea..?” I ask her and knowing she could hear my voice.

“You’ve always been there for me. Always let me cry on you and always listened to me when I told you why I was crying. And you told me a lie until it became true. I only needed one thing before my life ended, somebody to care about me and love me. So I want you need to know, anybody who is there for you, sees something wrong and doesn’t change you is the best kind of person there is,” Natalie was rambling on. What was she talking about. I looked at her in confusion.

“Natalie, it’s great that you think of me that much but where are you getting at? If you want to thank me, well your welcome for always being there,” I told her but I was still confused. I was getting closer to her. Then I saw Natalie take a step on the stone on the rapids. My heart started to ache and pound loudly. I wonder if the whole world could hear it.

“I love you but find someone else... It’s too late,” Natalie said with her back facing me and taking her last and final step. No...! NO! I screamed out

“NO!” I yell out and then she purposely slips on the rock. I run toward her and reach for her hand. I almost gripped on to her. Her hand was slippery and I felt the last heat in her body threw her hand and slip thru my finger tips. She had collapsed into the shallow water and her head smashed into another shop rock that hit her body. I could hear two heart beats. One too loud and the other faded into silence and I wondered if they whole world could hear what I heard. I stare at my girlfriends, the girl I love body covered now in water and the blood washing away with the water. Everything stopped. I stopped breathing. The world started to go upside down.

“DAMMIT YOU BITCH!” I yell out and pull her arm but it was lose. Tears sprung all over my face and I couldn’t feel her pulse. I couldn’t feel anything. Her hazel eyes tightly shut and never opened again. I stare at her. The blood crimson blood on her temple. I stare at the blood. So much blood. She was no long here. No she isn’t dead.

“Natalie...”I tug. No sound.

“Come on Nat,” I call. She had the nerve to die when I trusted her. No she isn’t dead. She’s still here, her body is steal here. If I call the ambulance, they can help her right? They have to.

Wake up Damon...!

I thought I could trust her.

It’s a dream.

She’s dead...

It never happened.

She never existed.

I woke up and opened my eyes and found myself staring into the ceiling. I felt embarrassed by my dream and my past. I shook it off. I was starting to get my hearing and senses back. Then across from me I heard a voice mocking me.

“What the hell?” I ask.

“Natalie...!? Come on Nat!?” Seth mocked but avoided eye contact “Who’s that...? Is that your real girlfriend?” I thought I was in psycho’s apartment. So where is psycho?

“My girlfriend who died,” I informed Seth threw my teeth.

“Oh... I’m sorry I guess,” Seth shrugged it off like it was no big deal. And I called myself heartless... This guy beats me. I stare at him and he turns his head and notice my gaze. We stare both at each other with hatred. Either that or it looks so much like hatred that it’s actually passionately brother love. I’m thirsty... I doubt Seth or psycho hold any good liquor in this place.

“I’m going to give you a warning, do not get Lexis involved with your drunk habits,” Seth warned me. I smirked and then laughed amused.

“You you should be worried because I sometimes have a habit of putting things in people’s drink,” I lie. Seth looked over at me like a alpha wolf. He didn’t take it as a joke.

“She’s my girlfriend, if you let anything idiotic like that happen to her I’ll finish you off personally no matter what you have with you or who you are,” Seth threatened. Since when did he become the mucho man? I smirk once more.

“What if she offered?” I ask him. He looked taken back.

“She wouldn’t do that,” He shrugs knowing her for certain. Well she has done something that went to another level for her.

“Yea sure... That’s what you think,” I made him get a little tense. We stare at each other even with more hatred. I was ready to open him up and see if his heart really does beat for psycho. Yea...We got into a fight.
