Meet the Cullens pt.1

"I know what you are." I whisper to Edward during science.

"Oh? And what's that?"

I swallow hard. "Your a-a vampire."

Silence.

"Aren't you going to say something?" I ask.

Edward stares blankly ahead at the chalk board-avoiding looking into my eyes "What do you want me to say."

"That I'm wrong. Tell me I'm wrong Edward." I feel panic starting to rise in my chest.

"I'm sorry Bella. Know you know what I am. Now you know that I'm a monster. If you know what's best for you, you'll stay away." Edward grabs his books and leaves the classroom.

Vampire's are real. Vampire's are real. I still couldn't wrap my brain around it. I need to go for a walk. I couldn't bare staying in my small bedroom any longer. I storm outside.

The woods behind my house seem comforting in a way. The smell of fresh air, the dull shades of green that cover the forest floors and creep up the sides of trees. Even though I'd barely been in Forks a few months it all felt like home to me.

I hadn't realized how long I'd been walking until I noticed the sun was going down. It was becoming harder and harder to see what was right in front of me. I've got to get out of here before-

CRACK. BOOM.

Oh no! I forgot it's supposed to thunder storm tonight! Now I've really got to get home!

I try to turn back towards the direction in which I came but now every path looks the same. The darkness of the night sky was not helping matters and the roar of the thunder began drowning out my own thoughts.

I continue to trudge forward until I reach a clearing. Have I reached civilization? My heart begins to race. I rush forward into the clearing only to be knocked of my feet by a baseball. Suddenly I'm sent flying backwards. It felt like the air had been knocked out of me.

My head hits a tree trunk and I'm out like a light.

•[10 minutes later]•

"Bella? Bella can you hear me?"

"What?"

"Oh good, she's alive. For a second I thought we killed her." Another unidentifiable voice says.

"Where-," I can barely form a sentence. I feel a pair of strong hands he'll sit me up. My eyes adjust.

I'm siting on a couch in a living room so spectacular it surely belonged on the cover of a home improvement magazine. It was definitely not the kind of living quarters one would expect to see in Forks.

"Here. Drink some water." Edward hands me a glass.

"Edward? Th-this is your house?"

"Welcome!" A tall man walks into my frame of view. He's still wearing his scrubs from work. I can only assume he's Edwards adopted father, Dr. Cullen.

"Welcome to the Cullen house!"
