Howling at the moon

After last weeks fiasco I began freezing Edward out. He's just too weird.

I began hanging out with Jacob in hopes that he would make me forget about Edward and his weird family.

"How's the motorcycle coming along?" I ask Jacob when he arrives at the house Saturday morning.

"Great! It's almost done! You want to see it?"

"I'd love to!"

"Swing by the reservation after school on Monday."

"Okay."

"Bella. Bella!" Alice continues to call after me, even though at this point it's pretty obvious that I'm ignoring her and the rest of the Cullen's.

"What!" I finally scream at her.

"I really think you should come over tonight." She had a weird look on her face, like she's seen a ghost.

"Ew. Why would I want to do that?"

"Bella please. I saw something. Something very unsettling."

"Is it about those people you said would tear me apart the other night?" I ask, not really wanting to hear the answer.

"Yes. Bella they are still out there. Your not safe. Please, just do yourself a huge favor and come over. Plus, Edward misses you."

I snort. "Any chances you had of me coming over tonight have officially been ruined. I don't want to see that freak ever again."

"You don't mean that."

"What do you know! Just hop off Alice! Jeez!" I turn and head towards my next class.

"Wrench."

"Screw."

  "Screw driver."

I wipe the sweat off my brow and watch Jacob work relentlessly on his motorcycle. He seems almost as interested in the car as he is interested in me.

Who knew I'd be competing against a hunk of medal for some males attention! "Gosh I'm parched." I say, hopping to tear Jacob away from the vehicle.

"Oh, I'm sorry Bella. Hold on let me get you some water. I'll be right back." I watch his muscular body rise from the side of the bike, his shirt is drenched in sweat and is clinging to his bulging muscles.

I have to bite my lower lip just to keep myself from making a sound. Jacob is some serious eye candy. He wonders off into the house and suddenly I'm left alone in the garage. It's just me, the bike, and the breeze. I should've felt relaxed but instead I was tense. Alice's warnings kept ringing in my head.

"They are still out there! Your not safe."

What did she mean? Who's they? What's that strange growling sound? I look up but it's too late. A strange man with blonde hair pounces on me. He has me pinned to the floor and proceeds to wrap his meaty hands around my neck.

"If you guys don't hurry up I won't share any of my dinner with you all." The man says to his two friends that stand behind him.

"We're right behind you James!" A woman with red hair calls out.

"May I just say, you smell absolutely delicious. I can't wait to dig in." He bares his fangs at me.

I must be dreaming. This is a side effect of all the bike fumes. None of this is real. It can't be.

"J-Jacob!" I yell out weakly.

"Shut up you imbecile! None of your puny little human friends can save you now. If any even show up they'll just become apart of our meal. Now sit still. This may hurt a bit." He cackles and begins to lean in, ready to bite my neck off.

Suddenly James is shoved off of me. A giant dog tackles him to the ground. No-not a dog but a wolf! The wolf scares off James's friends and proceeds to scratch up the hungry vampire. Eventually the wolf chases James off into the woods.

I sit on the ground curled up into a ball shivering. Wtf?!

"Bella! Bella are you alright?" Jacob rushes towards me, now unexplainably shirtless.

"I-he-they," I cant even manage to form a sentence I'm so badly shaken. All I can do is collapse into Jacobs strong arms.

"It's okay. They can't hurt you now. I got you."

"Was that you?" I finally ask him.

"What?"

"That wolf thing. Was that you?" I felt ridiculous for asking but if vampire's are real then...

"Yes. I'm a werewolf. I'm sorry you had to find out this way. I'd have preferred if you didn't."

"You saved me."

"It was no big deal."

"Jacob? Kiss me."
