We mostly drove in silence the first 24 hours. The car was suffocatingly silent. The only time I had breathing room was when we had to stop to fill up the tanks.
I wanted to talk to Edward and tell him how I felt but my mouth wouldn't open.

Alice, who could feel my discomfort, and pulled me aside while we were stopped at a gas station.
"I can cut the sexual tension with a knife. What in the world is going on girl?"

"Nothing's going on."

"What? It can't be nothing! I see the way you two look at each other."

"Nothing is going on! We're literally not speaking. That's the problem! Everytime I look at him I want to tell him but I just keep getting cold feet."

"Bella...Edward would KILL me if he knew I was telling you this but...he really likes you! You have nothing to worry about! Just tell him how you feel!"

"You think I should? He really likes me? Are you sure-,"

"Bella! I'm positive! Now go!" Alice pushed me back towards the car.

"Tanks full. You ready?" Edward asked, non-the wiser.

"Um, yeah I'm ready. Let's go."

2 hours later

The car had remained silent as the day changed to night. One by one I saw stars begin to appear in the sky.
I kept fidgeting with my hands as I thought of ways to tell Edward how I felt. Everything I came up with sounded cringey and just not good enough. No more stalling. I have to do this. I can't keep my feelings a secret anymore.

"Edward?"

"Hm?"

"Pull over."

"What, why?"

"Just do it. Please?"

Edward gave me a weird look before pulling over to the side.

"What's wro-,"

"Step out of the vehicle."

"What? Bella are you o-,"

"Do you trust me?"

"No."

"Well, just trust me this once ok?"

We both emerged from the car. The rest of the Cullen luxury vehicles speeding by. I climb up onto the roof of the car and sit on top with my legs crossed.

"What are you-,"

"Come sit with me Edward."
He joins me.

"Are you ok? Why did we stop?"

"To see the stars."

"Bella...we have plenty of time to do that at the house in Alaska."

"Yeah but I want to do it now. Just you and me. Alone...the truth is...Edward I have something I need to tell you..."
