1 week later...

"Everyone ready?"

All of the Cullen's belongings somehow managed to fit in the back seats and trunk spaces of their numerous cars. The mood was jubilant with everyone excited to start their new lives in Alaska.

"We're ready Carlisle." Esme kisses her husband in the cheek.

"Great! Let's go!" Alice quickly hops into her car and revs the engine.

"Bella, you ridin with me or Alice?" Edward asks.

Even though I had been hanging out with the family for weeks, I still wasn't super comfortable being around Edward. His beauty made me nervous and hot all at the same time. I had never wanted anyone to like me so bad before.

"I'll go with you." I follow Edward to his car.

The drive was mostly silent for the first two hours. Nothing but the noise of the radio and the light hum of the motor.

  "You'll love Alaska. There isn't a lot of people so we won't have to hide out as much." Edward makes an attempt at small talk.

"I'm just excited to get to my new room. Those floor to ceiling windows will show so much sunlight and will be perfect for watching snow fall." I snort at the thought of me enjoying the snow. Just a few months ago I was missing the hot sun of Phoenix but now that I'm a vampire the weather doesn't affect me so much.

"I'm looking forward to playing baseball in the snow. You think it's cool during thunderstorms in Forks? Just you wait."

The car fell silent again.

"Edward?"

"Hm?"

"I...," I like you. Just say it!

"You what? I'm listening."

"I...I was just wondering how much longer."

"Three more days. It wouldn't be nearly as long on foot but, these cars can only go so fast."

"Oh." I sink lower into my seat and bite my lip. This is going to be a looooong ride.
