Thought I'd Lost You Minho (tmr)

Auther;

“Rise and shine!” A familiar voice sang out.

You groaned as you rolled over on your thin mattress, burying your head into your pillow to block out the sunlight streaming in.

“Come on you bloody shank, we’ve got a maze to run.” The voice teases.

“Go away Minho.” You groan.

There was silence for a moment and you were about to move to see what was going on when two hands gripped around your ankles and yanked. Your sheet was pulled off you and you shrieked.

“Bloody hell Minho I swear to god I’m going to-” He cuts you off by placing his lips to yours in a passionate kiss. When the two of you pulled away breathlessly a smirk graced his face.

“What were you saying?” He teased and you giggled before pulling him in for another elongated kiss.

“If this is what kind of greeting I get every morning, you can expect me up bright and early.” You mumbled against his lips. “Is that so?” He said playfully and you giggled before slamming your lips onto his. He moaned softly against your mouth as you pull him towards you and onto the bed.

“I know what you’re doing.” He whispered as he lay on top of you.

“I’m not doing anything.” You say cheekily.

“No matter how tempting your lips are, we have a job to do.” He says and you moan in annoyance as his weight is lifted from you.

“Ugh fine.”

I let myself bask in the hot morning sun as I walked across the glade. I was greeted numerous times by all the boys but not the one I was looking for.

“*yn*!” A voice calls out and I grin when I spot Chuck running towards me.  “Hey Chuck.” I smile hugging him when he reaches me.

“Did you hear?” Chuck asks me as he follows me towards the maze door. “Hear what?” I questioned. “Thomas! The new guy, he’s doing his first run today.” Chuck explained.

“It’ll be interesting to see how the greenie holds up.” I smirk as I spot him and Minho waiting outside. “I heard he tried to punch Gally, do you think he’ll get in trouble?” Chuck asks.

“Well Gally’s a slinthead, so probably not. I mean hell, I would punch Gally in a heartbeat if I was given a chance.” I say and Chuck giggles.

“Don’t you have chores to do?” I ask and he groans. “Come on, go do them. I’ll tell you how the greenie holds up tonight, ok?” I say ruffling his hair affectionately. “Ok.” He grumbles before hurrying off. I giggle and shake my head before heading over to the two boys.

“Hey *yn*.” Thomas smiled. “Hey.” I wave. Minho smiles and snakes an arm around my waist and I resist rolling my eyes. He was so over protective.

“Ok are you guys ready to go?” I ask and they both nod. “Thomas today we’re just going to show you around, is that cool?” I question and he nods.

“Cool, lets go then.” I instruct and Minho grins. “What?” I ask.

“You’re just so hot when you’re bossy.” He laughs and you scowl and move to push him when he turns on his heel and sprints into the maze.

“Hey!” You shout before running after him, Thomas behind you.

The three of you run for a while until you reach a clearing. The three of you stop for a break but Minho and you don’t really need it. You were barely out of breath, considering you did this everyday. Thomas however was gasping for air like a fish.

“You better get used to that greenie.” I smirked as I watched him in amusement.

I scan the clearing and furrow my brows when I see area 7 is open.

“Minho look.” I murmur and he follows my gaze. “Why is area 7 open?” He questions. “I don’t know.” I whisper.

“I’ll go take a look.” I say. “I’ll come with you.” Minho says immediately and you shake your head. “You need to show Thomas around, get him familiar to his surroundings.” I explain and he sighs.

“Well then I’ll go and you show Thomas around.” He offers.

“I’ve been running this maze a lot longer then you have, I know how it works inside and out.” I say folding my arms. “Besides I’m pretty sure that makes me in charge of you.” I grin and he rolls his eyes knowing he won’t get you to change your mind.

“Fine but if you aren’t back in a few hours I’m coming to look for you.” He says firmly and you nod. “Don’t do anything stupid.” He warns. “Take care of the greenie.” You quip. He smiles and places a soft kiss on your lips.

“Be safe.” He mumbles. “I will.” You whisper, kissing his lips one more time before sprinting off.

He sighs watching after you worriedly before turning away.

I ran through sector seven until I was puffing. I was so confused, the route was the exact same. Nothing had changed. It had just opened a week early. I sighed and looked up at the sky knowing I should start heading back now.

I began to jog back towards the Glade, I had just reached the centre of the maze when I heard a loud clicking kind of noise. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion as I walked through the large panels. Suddenly sector seven’s panels started to shut.

“Shit.” I whisper when I realise it’s cutting my path to getting back to the Glade. I immediately begin to sprint towards the open panels but they were always one step ahead of me. I ran as fast as I could my feet barely touching the ground. I was reaching the end when I leapt in front of the closing one and barely made it through.

Because my leap was so horizontal I couldn’t land on my feet. I hit the ground head first, wacking my head against the concrete and the next thing I knew everything was black.

As my eyes blinked open I moaned as a splitting headache pounded in my skull. I leaned up to touch my forehead and when I pulled away I saw my blood on my hands. I grunt as I heave myself onto my feet, stumbling slightly as I try to get my bearings.

It was only then that I remembered everything. I quickly looked up to the sky and my blood ran cold as I saw the sun setting. I tried to run but I almost fell over again. I ran as I could without falling fast towards the Glade.

“I have to go in and look for her.” Minho said worriedly as he paced outside the entrance to the maze.

“Minho, she’ll be back, if you go in there now there’s no guarantee you’ll find her.” Newt explained.

“She should have been back by now!” Minho yelled and the rest of the boys look down at the ground.

“She’ll get out. She has too.” Alby said.

Suddenly the whirring of the doors begin to start and Minho looks up frantically. “No no no no. Why are they closing early!” Minho yelled desperately.

“I have to go in!” He says but before he could take a step Gally had grabbed him. “You aren’t going in there shank.” Gally hissed and Minho struggled against him desperately. “She’s going to die in there!” He yelled. “Well why waste another life then?” Gally said and Minho glared at him as he struggled. More boys came to pin him back.

“Guys look!” Thomas shouted. Everyone looked to see you appear at the end of the path. “*yn* come on!” Newt shouted. The boys started screaming as you began to sprint. You watched as the doors came closer and closer together.

“*yn*!” Minho yelled. “Minho!” You shouted as you saw him struggling against Gally. You ran so fast you thought your legs were going to fall off as you neared the ever closing gap. You knew deep down you weren’t going to make it.

Minho managed to get free at the last minute but the gap was to small for him to fit. He pressed against the closing doors and you saw his tear stained face before the doors slammed shut against you.

“No.” You whispered desperately as you leant against the doors. “No.” You hissed as tears began to stream down your face. You slid down the door and pressed your face against it as you began to sob. You were going to die out here.

“No, no no no. Open, open!” Minho hissed as he slammed his hands against the doors. “Please open!” He yelled. “*yn*!” He screamed as tears streamed down his cheeks.

The other boys exchange sad glances as he sobbed against the door. “She might live.” Chuck whispered and Minho turned to look at him. “You know she’s already as good as dead.” He hissed before turning back to the maze. “The love of my life is dead.” He murmured under his breath.

It was pitch black dark now. You had been sitting against the wall depressed. You had run out of tears an hour ago, now your face was just tear stained and lifeless. You were going to die, so what was the point of trying?

Suddenly you heard a screeching noise followed by movement and you stiffened. A griever. You should have just let it come and kill you but your will to survive kicked in. Maybe you could survive this.

You scrambled to your feet and looked around for a hiding spot. You managed to dive under the plants that grew on the walls just as a griever turned the corner. You covered your mouth and held your breath as it walked past you. It was the most hideous and terrifying thing you had ever seen.

You watched as it walked up to the doors and looked at them before turning around and walking past you.

You let out a breath of relief when the bushes you were hiding in were ripped away and the griever let out a bone-chilling screech. You sprinted as fast as you could away as it clanged and clacked after you. The metal legs hitting the ground was the most terrifying sound you had ever heard.

You turned a corner and leapt onto a small ledge and began to climb up. The last one was a huge leap and you looked down to see the griever following you. You took a breath before leaping, you just managed to hook your hands onto the ledge as you pulled yourself up. You let out a scream as the griever gashed your leg with it’s metal leg. You kicked it away and scrambled up and began running on top of the wall.

You could hear it behind you, you turned to look when you tripped, grazing your arm and hitting your head. You looked to see that you had nearly rolled off the top. You crawled as quickly as you could as you tried to get up but your leg was burning in pain.

You turned on your back to see the griever towering above you. It let out a snarl and it’s saliva splattered all over you. It brought out it’s stinger and moved it to jab you. You rolled to the side and watched as the barb hit the ground where you were lying seconds before.

In a panic you brought your feet up and kicked it in it’s head. You managed to get yourself up and run quickly enough to escape. You ran and ran and ran. You continued to jump from wall to wall until eventually you came to a dead end.

You whipped around to see the griever running towards you. You stood firmly as it came at you but at the last second you ducked. It was big enough for it to walk over you and when it did you shoved it upwards and over. You looked as it plunged to the ground. It hit the ground with a splat and you peered over to see it’s guts and body parts completely splattered on the ground. It was dead.

After a while of watching it to make sure it was completely dead you cautiously came down. You could barely move your leg and you knew you were losing a lot of blood but you needed to get a closer look. You looked at the dead griever for a while, fascinated at it’s make up when you spotted a red dot.

You made a disgusted face as you shifted through the slimy innards and pulled out a metal cylinder thing of some sort. You wiped away the slime to see a red number on it. Seven. You had no idea what that meant as you studied it. You turned it over to see the letters W.C.K.D plastered on it. You had seen those in the maze and the Glade.

You gripped onto it and heaved yourself back towards the entrance. You couldn’t reach it though as you collapsed, your leg not permitting you to walk. You shuffled under some bushes again and hid under there as your heart pounded. Hopefully no more grievers came out to play tonight.

“They’re opening!” A voice called. All the Gladers were pressed against the doors as they opened, a tear stained Minho at the front. He had stayed in front of the doors last night and didn’t sleep a wink. Everytime he heard a griever call out he wandered if that was the moment you had died. As the gates opened they waited in deathly silence.

Nothing.

Minho began to cry again as the Gladers’ face fell. Some of them patted him on the shoulder and began to walk away. Minho was one of the last to move but looking at that maze was to painful. “Everyone look!” Chuck suddenly yelled.

Minho looked back as he watched everyone jogging towards the maze. He sprinted towards them, shoving everyone out of the way to get to the front. He breathed a sigh of relief when he saw you. Everyone began to cheer as he sprinted inside to reach you.

You dragged yourself, literally, towards the doors. Your leg was still bleeding and you had lost a lot of blood but the cheers of the boys made it a little easier.

“*yn*!” A voice called and you smiled weakly and he realised you were injured.

“Oh my god *yn*! We need to get you to the MedJack’s.” He said as he scooped you up.

“I’m so glad to see you.” You whispered before you faded into unconsciousness.

Your eyes fluttered open as you realised you were in the MedJacks hut. You looked down to see a huge bandage on your injured leg. You turned to see Minho seated on an upturned crate near you.

“Minho.” You murmured and he glanced up and hurried to your side. “Hey.” He smiled softly as he pulled the crate to your side.

“How are you feeling?” He asked. “Alright, my leg feels better.” You whispered and he nodded. “They said you have to stay in here for a couple more days so it can heal.” He explained. “I’ll have you to keep my company.” You grinned and he shook his head. Only you could make a joke in this situation.

“I found this, in your pocket.” He said pulling out the silver object from the griever. “It’s from a griever Minho. I killed one.” I whispered and he looked at you in surprise. “You killed one?” He asks in disbelief and you nod. “This might be a key to getting out of here.” You explain and a smile spreads across his face.

“God I love you.” He admits and you blush.

“I love you too.” You reply and he leans down and places a gentle kiss on your lips.

He looks down at the ground and you’re surprised to see he’s crying.

“Minho why are you crying?”

“Because I thought I had lost you.” He admits and you smile softly taking his hand in yours.

“It’s going to take a lot more than that to get rid of me.”
