CHAPTER TEN.
selena and batman

Β  Β  Β  Β  MASQUERADE BALLS ARE PROBABLY LOLA'S FAVORITE TYPE OF DANCES. Not only do you get to dress up any way you want and become a different person to the world, but you also get the chance to hide your identity if you feel the need. Now, normally Lola would wear a mask, but this time, she went against it since her costume was going to be Selena. This particular ball is also combined with Halloween, another thing she loved.

Β  Β  Β  Β  Walking around Tric, Lola felt amazing. She received many compliments on her outfit and how beautiful she looked. Looking around the place, her eyes fall upon Peyton, who was talking to someone in a Batman suit. She walked closer towards them, "Hey, Peyton, you look amazing."

Β  Β  Β  Β  Peyton glanced at her, eyes widening, "Thank you! You look stunning!" She then looked at the boy in the costume. "She looks good, don't you think, Nathan?"

Β  Β  Β  Β  Nathan slowly nodded, gulping, thanking God that they couldn't see his reddened face due to the mask covering it. "Ye-yeah, definitely."

Β  Β  Β  Β  Lola smiled up at him, "Thanks. I would say I like your costume, too, but my brother decided to go as Bruce as well."

Β  Β  Β  Β  "I just didn't want anyone to see me, you know, go undetected." He gestures towards the mask and both girls nodded, understanding. His eyes focus on someone heading towards them, "Looks like I'm leaving. You coming, Lola?"

Β  Β  Β  Β  She grabbed his hand that was waiting and he dragged her to the dance floors where many different people stood, both of them start breaking out moves to the song 'Me & U' by Cassie. Lola almost laughed at his ridiculous dancing, but kept her mouth shut, moving her body along with his.

Β  Β  Β  Β  The girl was secretly happy he went as Bruce Wayne, because know one but her and Peyton knew who he was, which meant she was free to grind on him freely without anyone getting angry with her. Damn, she really did love Masquerades.

Β  Β  Β  Β  Lola saw her best friend across the room and laughed, grabbing Nathan's attention as he looked down at her. "Look at Lucas."

Β  Β  Β  Β  He followed her gaze and chuckled, "Wow, who knew he liked Tommy Lee. You think this was him trying to win back Brooke?" He asked, putting his hands around her waist as a slow song suddenly takes over.

Β  Β  Β  Β  Her hands went around the back of his head, fingers locking together as she nodded, "Most likely. I haven't talked to him in a few days, but he does love her, so I wouldn't doubt it."

Β  Β  Β Β  "Why haven't you talked with him?" Nathan asked, eyes furrowing in confusion, knowing how close the two are.

Β  Β  Β Β  "Well, I spent three straight months with him and I wanted to spend time with you since you've been gone. You're my close friend too, Nate." And also the fact that he'd been spending most of his time with Haley as well and they weren't friends.

Β  Β  Β  Β  His heart almost broke at that word. Friend. He didn't even know why he felt that way. The boy just nodded, "That makes sense."

Β  Β  Β Β  "You know, I've never said this out loud, but I wanted to thank you." She gazed up into his eyes barely being able to see him due to the black mask, not looking away for anything. "For letting me be apart of your life. Ever since coming here, you Scott brothers have treated me so good and it's refreshing cause I haven't felt this way in a really long time."

Β  Β  Β  Β  The basketball captain didn't know what to say as he gazed down at her. "You're welcome, Lols. And since we're thanking people, I wanted to thank you as well. I was in a very dark place whenever you came here and instead of treating me like everyone else, you were kind and gentle with me. Well, not at first, but still, I appreciate it."

Β  Β  Β  Β  They both laughed and her head went to lean on his chest, his falling onto the top of her's as they continued swaying. She whispered the next words, relishing in this perfect moment. "You're welcome, Nate."

Β  Β  Β  Β  "Hey, Mr. Lee, could you spare a dance for me?" Lola tapped Lucas on his shoulder, causing him to turn towards her with a grin. Fall Out Boy currently performed on stage and the girl had saw his sulking look from a mile away and decided to approach him.

Β  Β  Β Β  The boy wearing a long wig curtsied, "Of course, my beautiful best friend." He grabbed her hand and dragged her into a corner where no one was.

Β  Β  Β  Β  Lola couldn't help but compare his and his brother's hands. Nathan's were larger and even though his and Lucas' are both soft, Nathan's seemed to be softer.

Β  Β  Β  Β  Lucas started rocking out to the song, pretending he was actually Tommy Lee. His face morphed into something hilarious, nose crunched up, eyes squinting as his head bobbing up and down.

Β  Β  Β  Β  She giggled, using her hand as a microphone as she sang the words to the song, pretending to be Selena Quintanilla. The two leaned against each other and rocked out, ignoring the other people that surrounded them and the hot environment that came with mini concerts.

Β  Β  Β  Β  The song ended after about two and a half minutes and she stood straight, trying to breath properly. "Let me guess, you dressed up like this to empress Brooke."

Β  Β  Β  Β  "Am I that obvious?" He looked at her and noticed the way she gazed up at him with a knowing look. A sigh fell from his lips as he leaned against the wall, "I tried, but she completely shut the idea down. I know what I did with Peyton was terrible, but that was so long ago and she's already forgiven me. I'm not sure if this is some kind of test, but it's starting to wear me out."

Β  Β  Β Β  Lola grabbed his hand and squeezed, "You probably don't wanna hear this, but it's for the best anyways. You should be absolutely sure who you want to be with. You can't play with her feelings and if you're completely loyal to Brooke and Brooke only, then you should tell her. Be for real about your feelings because you may lose her."

Β  Β  Β  Β  As soon as Lola made it home, the first thing she noticed was her brother sitting on the couch, his Batman suit still on his body. She took a seat beside him and reached for a popcorn that was in a bowl in between them. "Did you have fun?"

Β  Β  Β  Β  "Yup. You probably don't believe this, but I kissed someone." He grinned, taking a sip of his coke. "She was dressed up as Sandy from Grease, at least, that's what I think she was."

Β  Β  Β  Β  She paused, hand hovering over the bowl, not liking the words she just heard. "You kissed Haley! She's Nathan's ex wife!" She hit him up side the head, a groan escaping his lips.

Β  Β  Β  Β  "I didn't know that!" He rubbed the spot. "Plus, it was a one time thing, so who cares."

Β  Β  Β  Β  Lola rolled her eyes, "You better hope so, I don't wanna see that girl any more than I should have to."
