chapter 8

"I don't know sister, someone gave me a call using your phone" she said, looking confused.

Alisha looked up as the doctor entered the room, his face a mark of professionalism as he began to examine her injuries.

"How are you feeling, miss Alisha?" He asked, his voice warm and reassuring.

"I'm okay, thank you doctor," Alisha whispered, her voice still weak. "But there's something I've been wandering about.

"Do you know who brought me to the hospital?" She asked, her brow frowned in confusion. "I was unconscious when I arrived, so I didn't get the chance to see who it was."

The doctor nodded, his expression thoughtful. "Yes, a young man brought you  in miss Alisha. He was very worried about you, insisting on coming with you in the ambulance and waiting until we knew you were okay.

"I don't know his name, unfortunately, but I can tell you he was very concerned about you."

Alisha's brow frowned, a thousand questions swirling through her mind. "Is it possible that I could talk to him?" She asked. "I'd like to thank him for saving my life."

The doctor hesitated, his expression becoming a little more guarded. "Miss Alisha, I'm sure that's possible. The man left quiet a while ago, and I don't know how we would contact him."

Alisha's heart sank, her body sagging against the pillow. "Oh, I see, "she said, her voice barely audible. "I understand."

The doctor cleared his throat, his expression softening . "I do have to say, though, Miss Alisha, that you are very lucky to be alive," he said, his voice serious.

"You've sustained some serious injuries, and it's a miracle you survived. The young man who who brought you here deserve your thanks for that, wether or not you get to talk to him."

Alisha nodded, a heavy weight settling in her chest. "Thank you, doctor. I'm glad I survived, even if it was a close call."

The doctor ssmiled, patting her hand  reassuringly. "You're very strong miss Alisha.

"You'll be up and walking in no time, I'm sure."

As the doctor made his way out of the room, Alisha turned to her sister, her eye haunted by thought of the man who had saved her.

"Ish," she said, her voice quite and reflective, "I wonder who he was."

Isha frowned, her brow frowned in concern. "Do you think it was zafeer?" She asked. "He was at the party, and he cares about you a lot."

Alisha's heart skipped a beat, I don't know," she whispered, her voice trembling with hope.

"Maybe you are right, isha," she whispered. "Maybe it was zafeer. But why would he help me after everything that has happened.?

Isha reached out to take Alisha's hand, her face softening, "love is a funny thing, sister. "What are you trying to imply, do you mean zafeer is in love with me? She said, looking at her sister surprisingly.

"Maybe zafeer loves you even after what happened at the party."

Alisha bit her lip, her heart beating faster, could it be true?

As the sisters sat in silence, Alisha's mind raised with possibilities. Maybe zafeer had saved her. Maybe he loves her. despite everything that has happened.

The sound of the hospital door opening broke through her thoughts, and she looked up to see her mother, Lina, rushing into the room, her face a mask of worry.

"Alisha! My baby, my daughter!" She cried, reaching out to embrace her.

"What happened? Why are you in this hospital?"

Alisha wrapped her arms around her mother, her heart breaking at the fear she saw at Lina's eyes. "I'm okay, mama," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "I had an accident. But I'm okay now."

Lina pulled back, her eyes searching Alisha's face. "An accident? What kind of accident, Alisha? Why didn't anyone tell me?

Alisha exchanged a glance with her sister, her face grave. "It's a long story, mama," she said.

"But I promise I will tell you everything."
