"So what are we doing today?" Laur asked me. Currently we were driving in the car to an unknown destination. Well unknown to Laur at least.

"You'll see when we get there love" I said flashing a smile at her

Roughly twenty minuets later we arrived at our destination. As we got out of the car, Laur looked at me with a raised eye brow "you drove us to a beach?"

I chuckled and brought her close to me "there's a surprise at the beach you dingus" I said taking her hand and leading her towards the water. We walked over to the small fishing pier and then under it was the actual surprise.

I smiled as I heard Laur gasped "what's this?"

All around us were rose petals and small tea light candles. I placed the iPod dock that I brought and placed it in the sand and pressed play. I smiled at my wife and said "this is my Mother's Day gift to you. Even though our babies are grown and basically starting their own families.... I still treat you"

Laur took both my hands in hers "baby you don't need to treat me to anything"

I kissed her and said "shut up because I do. Now will you dance with me?"

She giggled but soon enough her arms were wrapped around my neck and my arms were wrapped her waist, I kissed her neck "I love you" I said as we swayed along to the music

Laur giggled "I love you too baby"

*Laur's POV*

I had just gotten home from work when I noticed the house was entirely quiet. I listened carefully to see if Luke was in his home studio, but nothing was playing. The house was eerily quite and I wasn't a big fan of it. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard my phone ringing, I saw it was Liz calling so I answered immediately "hey Liz!"

"Laur! Thank goodness! I've been trying to get a hold of Luke all day, but I just can't" Liz said through tears

"Whoa, Liz slow down for me. What happened? Why are you crying?" I asked slowly, my heart nearly sank when she told me the news

"It's Ben. He..he was hit by a drunk driver last night. And he.. He didn't make it" Liz cried

"Oh my god" I said as I felt the tears welling in my eyes. I took a couple breaths as i continued "I'll find Luke"

I hung up the phone with Liz and immediately called Luke but heard his phone ringing from the living room. Groaning I walked to the sliding glass doors that lead out to our private beach and that's where I spotted him. Throwing the door open, I took off running towards him

"Luke!" I shouted, but he didn't turn and look in my direction. When I did reach him, I kneeled down in the sand in front of him and took in his appearance. Hair a mess, tears running down his face, red eyes. Luke tried to stay something but I shushed him and pulled him in for a hug and that's where Luke broke down.

"Just breathe baby, deep breaths" I whispered as Luke pulled me more into his lap as I rubbed his back

"He...he's gone" Luke cried into my neck

I bit my lip to keep myself from crying "I know baby, I know. But I'm right here for you, I'm not going anywhere"

Luke held onto my tighter as I looked up and saw Sophia and Matthew running out towards us

"Dad! Mum!" Soph cried. Luke stood up and let me go as he held both kids in a tight embrace as he then pulled me in the hung and said "we'll get through this tough time together"

*Luke's POV*

@Luke5SOS: thanks everyone for your kind words. Ben taught me a lot of things growing up and he will be dearly missed.

I sighed as I put my phone on the night table just as laur came in the bedroom and laid down next to me.

"Hey" she whispered while lacing our fingers together "how you holding up"

I shrugged my shoulders and pulled her close "I've lost Ben, so it'll be a while before I'll be back to myself. Thank you for not leaving my side during the services today"

Laur reached up and kissed me "don't thank me love, I'm your wife and I'll be by your side through the good times and the bad times. It's been a long sad day, so let's get some sleep"

I pulled her close and kissed her forehead "I love you, so much"

"Soph, you're not even showing yet and you are glowing" Laur said her as soph walked in the back door

"Is it normal to be tired and hungry and bitchy? I feel so bad because I keep snapping at Cullen"

I chuckled and said "the snapping part is completely normal. Your mum did that all the time while pregnant with you and Matthew"

Laur pouted "you know I couldn't help it with my hormones"

I chuckled and wrapped an arm around her shoulder "I know doll, just teasing you"

It was quite before Soph spoke "how are you doing dad?"

I knew what she meant. I dropped my arm and looked down and then at her "I'm doing alright, love"

So ONE MORE CHAPTER LEFT and then I'm going to do a character ask after and I haven't decided if I'm doing an epilogue yet????
