"Go get him Soph!"I felt my eyes slowly opening as I felt the little body of Sophia come crawling towards me on the bed.

"Someone wanted to say Happy Birthday to her daddy" Lauryn said giggling. I sat Soph on my chest and tickled her just so I could hear those adorable giggles.

"Please, don't remind me of my birthday" I laughed

"And why not? You're only 25 now babe"

"But I wanna be 18 again" I pouted at her. Laur only laughed and laid down next to me and cuddle into my side.

"Oh to be 18 again" she smiled

"Hey, you are closer to 18 with only being 23" I nudged Laur with my arm

"But I'm turning 24 in December, Luke"

"So! Still closer to 18!"

"Whatever makes you happy. Come on breakfast is ready!" Laur pecked my lips and picked Sophia up and walked towards the door.

"You made Breakfast?" Just as I said it, the smell of blueberry pancakes and banana muffins were flowing through my nostrils as we walked into the kitchen. "Smells delicious"

"Well me, your mom and Casey made it" Laur said putting Soph in her high chair and turning to me "by the way this is Casey, Casey this is my husband Luke. Casey used to work with me at the dental office"

"Ah okay. It's very lovely to meet you Casey. If I would have known you were going to be here, I would have put a shirt on. Let me go do that" I quickly ran up the steps to put on a new shirt, I was just about to walk out the room when Laur came in

"Don't tell Casey, but I'm hooking her up with Calum. Thought I might explain why she was here" Laur giggled

"You are a sneaky little thing, you know that" I kissed her forehead

"I have been told that once or twice. Come on, Cal's actually on his way here" Laur took my hand and dragged me down to the kitchen.

"These were probably the best banana muffins I have ever tasted" Calum said with a mouth full of muffin.

"I agree, Casey these are delicious" I smiled at her.

"Thanks guys, it's my mum's recipe" Casey blushed then glanced over at Laur, who only smiled back at her. I caught Calum sneaking a peek at Casey so I kicked his foot to grab his attention. Once his eyes landed on me, Cal blushed and I simply just wiggled my eyebrows at him, causing him to shake his head.

"Luke, can you help in the kitchen real quick?" Laur said breaking Cal's and mine silent conversation.

"Sure thing babe, can you guys take little Soph to the living room, keep her entertained" I asked the pair who were currently playing with Soph

"Sure, there is always room for uncle Calum and peanut time" Calum smiled at me

"Thanks mate" I returned the small smile and went into the kitchen to help Lauryn. "What's up babe?"

Laur only giggled and turned around from the sink "Cal totally digs her!"

I couldn't help but laugh at my wife, someone was proud of her match making skills. "Yeah, he does. When you girls were talking, he kept glancing at her. It was kind of cute to be honest"

"You're kinda cute to be honest" Laur giggled again with a smile tugging at her lips

"Here we go with the cheesiness again" I laughed at her

"Just shut up and kiss me" Laur said walking towards me

"What if I don't want to kiss you? You may have breakfast breath" I tried to make a disgusted face, but the look on her face was absolute priceless "I'm only kidding"

"I was about to say, because I kiss you when you have horrible morning breath" Laur chuckled

"It's all apart of being married baby" I told her before placing my soft lips to hers.... Only seconds later we were interrupted by Calum.

"Laur! Luke! Get in here! I think Soph's about to walk!" Cal said running into the kitchen before running back to the living room.

"What?!" Laur and I both said at the same time. We both followed Calum into the our family room where Calum and Casey were. And there was Sophia standing in the middle of the living room with the biggest smile on her face.

"Cal, please have the Camera on video and have it ready" I told him before crouching down a few lengths in front of Soph. "Come on Soph! Walk to Daddy, you can do it!"

Sophia kept glancing at me and the space between her as if wondering how she was gonna get there.

"Come on Mumble, you can do it" I tried encouraging her, but once I said mumble her entire face lit up and moved one foot in front of her.

"Luke" Laur said

"I know" I smiled eagerly at Laur before looking back to Soph. "Come on mumble. Just like that; one foot in front of the other"

And just like that, Sophia giggled and stumbled her way over to me before falling down in front of me.

"Holy shit" I breathed "she actually just took her first steps"

"And I got it all on tape" Calum said proudly

"I owe you a beer for that one" I looked over at Laur who just had complete shock written on her face "she's starting to walk now"

"I-I can't believe it, Luke" she started "now she needs to start talking"

"Well properly talking, none of the mumbo, jumbo talk. Right Soph" I blew a raspberry on her cheek.

"Wait, why'd you call her Mumble?" Questioned Lauryn

I smiled at Soph then looked at Laur "the other day when you and Emilee had your girls day, Soph and I had a cuddle session on the couch watching Happy Feet. And every time they showed the one penguin Mumble, her entire face would light up and she would smile so I thought I was a proper nickname"

"Mumble" Laur said

"Mumble" I repeated her words

"Mumle" I small voice said, just below my ears.

Laur's eyes went wide and so were Cal's and Casey's.

"She-she! Luke! Oh my god! She!" Lauryn was saying a million words at once

"Holy. Shit. Batman." Sophia's first words. First she walks, and now she talks. All in one day? Best birthday ever. "Literally, best birthday ever"

"Literally, the best day ever. I can't get over that she took her first steps and first words all in one day. This is so exciting" Laur beamed

Over the next few days Sophia picked up on a few more words such as Dada, mama, mumble, bottle and even bear.

"I still can't get over that she's talking" Laur said sitting next to me on the bed.

"Yeah I know. And it all started on my birthday too. Think I'm going to tweet about it" I kissed Laur's cheek then pulled out my phone.

"You really are a goober you know that?" Laur snickered

"Better than being a loser, like you" I stuck my tongue out at her.

"But I'm your favorite loser" she pointed at me

"I wouldn't trade you for the word, darlin" I leaned down and kissed her lips. "But time for sleep after this exciting and eventful day"

Laur hummed in response before turning on her side. I scooted closer to her so her back was to my front. I placed a few kisses along her shoulders and a few at the nape of her neck. "I love you"

"and I love you" yawned a sleepy Lauryn as she stuffed off to sleep.
