(17) hospital

Evelyn Higgins' pov.

  "Louis," I whispered.

"It's okay baby, I'm here." he whispered still holding the gun to the back of John's head. "Now, get off of her. Slowly." John crawled at a slow place off the top of me and I let out a breath that I didn't realize I had been holding in.

John chuckled. "Listen, just put the gun down and we can settle this the real way."

"Bullshit. Get on the floor and put your hands behind your back," Louis said and pushed him down. I sat up immediately and scooted as far away from the man as I could. John laid on the floor and put his hands behind his back like Louis said. Louis took handcuffs out of his back pocket and locked the mans hands together.

His hands grabbed the cloth that was wrapped around my mouth and tied it to John's, restricting him from speaking.

Once he was done Louis set down the gun on the bed and rushed over to me, untieing my hands from behind me. As soon as I was free, I threw my arms around his neck and started sobbing.

"I know, Eve. I know, it's over now love it's over. You're safe with me now." he rubbed circles onto my back. I pulled away and he placed kisses all over my face. I giggled for the first time in days. "God I missed you, are you ok?" I shook my head.

"Everything hurts," I cried. "He beat me, Louis. He beat me so much."

"I'm gonna kill him," Louis growled and grabbed the gun. He walked over to John and kicked him in the stomach three times.

"Louis, don't." I whispered. "Louis stop! Put the gun down..please. For me." he sighed and threw it across the room.

"Let's get out of here before someone comes back." he grabbed me bridal style and rushed out of the room. I wrapped my arms around his neck to hold on as he jogged to the elevator. Louis pressed the button rapidly with his thumb and continued to look behind him and all around him.

I was so tired, I could fall asleep right then and there. "Eve," he shook my as my eyes began to close. "Stay awake baby, stay awake."

"I'm so tired." I mumbled. The elevator dinged and he rushed in and began pressing the close button.

"Hey!" a man started running towards us, the same one that beat me up. "Stop!" the doors closed and he banged on them. The elevator started moving.

"The police are waiting at every entrance, Eve, she won't get away, I promise." he said as the doors opened and he ran into the lobby and out the front.

"Where are we going?" I moaned.

  "Hospital."
