What happens in Vegas (final chapter)

Demi

Nick needs very little sleep to function, so on Saturday morning, hours before we actually needed to get up, he was kissing my shoulders & my back, trying to get me awake. I knew what he wanted to do. That was pretty obvious by the way his hands glided over my skin, giving me a slight chill. "Wake up, Beautiful." He murmured into my ear after he straddled my back. I could feel how ready he was on my ass.

"I don't want to." I mumbled into my pillow.

"It's easier to fuck you when you're awake, love. More fun, too." He chuckled in between soft kisses on the back of my neck.

I couldn't help but to laugh because as horny as I knew he was, he probably wouldn't care if I was asleep & he'd fuck me anyway. I let out a heavy sigh, then groaned a little as I stretched my body. While I was stretching, I lifted my ass into the air & Nick enjoyed that. I felt his hand on my hip, then felt his hardness in my ass crack. "I take it you want me in this position?" I asked glancing at him over my shoulder. He leaned down on his arms & breathed in my ear.

"That would be awesome." He said in a hoarse whisper. His arm slipped around my middle, helping me lift the lower half of my body, then his hand was gripping my breast as he lavished my back with more kisses. His other hand was having fun with my sweet spot & making my opening soaking wet. It wasn't long before I was panting & begging him to slide his hard c.ock into my p.ussy. While my ass was in the air, I leaned on my forearms & moaned once he slid himself, gradually, inside me. My moaning was quiet, at first, as he slid his er.ection in & out, slowly. The grip he had on my hips was firm as he moved us against each other. Nick quickened his pace, briefly, then slowed back down to push up into me as far as he could go. He hit my G-spot over & over, sending me into a frenzy as multiple orgasms took over my body.

Halfway to our climax, Nick turned me over & continued to drive his member into me, while our bodies wrapped around each other. His passionate kiss made my orgasm come quicker & as we came together, we stared into each other's eyes. The erotic peak we hit together was intensified by our stare down & once our bodies stopped shaking, we continued to stare as our heavy breathing filled the space between us. Nick leaned to kiss me, softly before he pulled himself out of me & curled up against me. "God that was good." I sighed.

"Yes, it was. Can't deny I gave it good to ya." Nick said in a husky voice, then laughed.

I smacked him with my arm. "Oh God... you are so perverted."

Nick got out of bed & pulled on some boxers. "We should get up & get ready. We have that interview with Ryan Seacrest this morning."

I sat up on my elbows. "Since when?"

I watched as Nick walked to his suitcase & started shuffling through it. "Didn't I tell you?" He asked, not looking at me. I could see enough of his face to know he was trying not to smile.

"Nick. You didn't tell me." I sat up more & slid to the edge of the bed.

"Oh. Sorry. I thought I did." He shrugged, slightly.

I sighed, feeling like he kept this from me on purpose, then got up to start getting ready. Nick & I showered together, to save time, then got dressed. Before heading out, though, Nick suggested we call our families to let them know we got back together & that we were engaged. They were all surprised, of course, but expressed their happiness for us as well. Our families supported us & that was all that mattered to Nick & I in that moment.

Once again, when we left our room, we had to keep our distance as we walked in public. We met up with Phil & John, then all of us headed to the Iheart Daytime Village, where Ryan was apparently waiting to interview us for his live radio broadcast. We sat down with him & he started off with some small talk, before he got into the more interesting stuff.

"Demi you performed last night at the festival & you were incredible. I was watching & loved every minute of it." Ryan smiled at me as he sat across from us.

"Thank you, Ryan. That's sweet of you to say." I responded.

"Did you catch her set, Nick?"

Nick nodded, smiling at me. "Of course I did. I was watching from the side of the stage & she was better than incredible." He looked over at Ryan when my eyes widened, warning him that he was giving away too much.

"You two are both performing today at the Daytime Village, so can we expect a duet?" Ryan asked.

"Maybe. You never know." I answered, shrugging.

"So.... Nick you celebrated your birthday the other night & Demi you were with him. The rumors started as soon as the first photo of you two together appeared online. What's going on with you, two?" Ryan was smirking at both of us.

Nick cleared his throat so I knew he was the one answering this question. "You know... Demi & I are on the same page about most things. We're both very driven when it comes to our careers. We both like to share only certain aspects of our personal lives. Everyone wants to speculate & assume about celebrities' lives & truth be told they should just feel privileged that we share anything at all. With that being said..." Nick looked over at me & grinned, broadly. I felt uneasy all of the sudden as a nervous smile appeared on my face. "You see, Ryan..." He looked back at Ryan & leaned on his knee with one hand, a look on his face like he was going to tell Ryan a secret. I could feel my heart beat hard & fast in my chest, as I waited, nervously for Nick to speak again. "I actually am seeing someone. It's someone I've known a long time & it's someone I actually dated for a bit before." Nick said in a low, but serious tone.

I sucked in my breath & kept smiling when Ryan glanced at me. "Is it Selena?" Ryan asked & I wasn't sure if he was being sarcastic or if he was serious.

Nick laughed, pretty hard in fact, then shook his head. "No. But to let you in on a little insider's information... to give you an exclusive... I proposed to this girl, she said yes but she can't even wear the ring." Nick was speaking in an even lower tone but loud enough to be heard. I held my breath & tried not to make any sudden movements. Sweat was forming all over my body. I couldn't believe Nick was doing this & in this way. He knew it was huge. Ryan's shows were huge enough because he was on stations in every major city & then they were also posted as videos online. Nick was outing us in an even bigger way than he had the first time.

"Are you joking?" Ryan asked, laughing.

Nick's face got stone cold serious & he stared at Ryan for a moment. "No. I'm dead serious." Nick started smiling as Ryan's expression changed to shock. "She can't wear this ring because she's afraid... well we're both afraid that we'll get a lot of hate. We just got back together & people will say it was too fast. We also both just recently got out of relationships with other people, but we did not cheat on them. I want to make that perfectly clear. This happened on my birthday & I proposed because we both know we want to spend the rest of our lives together."

Ryan glanced over at me, smiling with his eyebrows up & I acted nonchalant, as if I had no idea what Nick was even talking about. "Are you going to give us a name?" Ryan asked, still keeping his eyes on my face. I looked at Nick like I was anxious to hear this name as well. Ryan was smirking & I knew he knew.

"Well, if it's okay with you, I'd like to put the ring on her finger right here, right now. That way, everyone will know & she won't have to take it off ever again." Nick reached into his jacket pocket & pulled out the little velvet box, while I tried to stay calm, cool & collected. Nick opened the box, pulled out the ring, then turned to me. "Is it okay if I put a ring on it?"

I tried not to laugh, but I couldn't help it once the giddiness kicked in over my ring. I wanted to put it on. I wanted to put it on & never take it off again. That ring was more important to me than anything else. It said Nick believed in us & wanted to spend his life with me. It said that he loved me enough to know that he wanted me & only me as his wife one day. A huge smile took over my face & I nodded, so he slipped it on my finger, then leaned to kiss me.

Needless to say, everyone around us was shocked, including Ryan. He started asking us questions as soon as he found his voice. We explained why we were being "crazy" & that we weren't sure when we'd actually get married. We explained that we knew it was sudden but we knew it felt right. It was a great interview & it quickly became viral. Every social media site had our big announcement. Iheart radio snapchatted Nick placing the ring on my finger then kissing me. Ryan posted on his Instagram a picture of the three of us, me in the middle holding my ring up, all three of us with our mouths open. There were vine videos & I think someone from Iheart posted a Periscope video of the interview. It was insane. But we knew it would happen.

Throughout the day, we were accosted by everyone & photographed every second, it seemed, since it was now public knowledge that we were engaged. Everyone wanted to see the ring & get a picture of us kissing. We didn't give them what they wanted. We didn't do anything except hold hands & I kept my ring finger as far away from where the cameras were.

It was nice not having to hide, but we did hear about a lot of hate online as well. We knew to expect it, so we ignored it as best as we could. Nick took the stage at Day Village first, then I hit the stage a few artists after him. We sang, "Avalanche" during Nick's set, but we didn't give the audience anything scandalous. We sang it no different than we had the first time we sang it in public together. Nick didn't hold my hand & barely looked, lovingly, into my eyes. At the end he didn't even give me a kiss. We planned it this way. We wanted it to be about our performances, not about our relationship.

I watched most of the festival that evening, from the side of the stage. When Nick came on, I felt butterflies, because he was bringing me out for the last song of his set. We were finally going to sing, "Afterglow," the song we had been talking about for a year & that everyone wanted to hear. The crowd went insane when he brought me out onstage & it felt good to get that kind of reception. I half expected them to boo us, but thankfully, they didn't. We sang the song & the crowd went ape shit, literally. At the end of the song, Nick took my hand, then held it over our heads for a moment before we took a bow. Then he thanked the audience & Iheart radio before he turned to me. "And I have to thank this beautiful woman standing here, beside me, for singing with me today & most of all... for saying yes." He pulled me, quickly, to him for a kiss, to which the response from the crowd was deafening. We smiled at the crowd, waved, then walked off stage.

The funny thing was that everyone kept talking about the people that had to hit the stage after us. Everyone was saying how they had a tough act to follow, but Nick & I didn't care. He had this smile on his face as we walked to his dressing room, that was contagious. I'd never seen him happier, honestly. He closed the door to his room, then grabbed me. He kissed me hard then hugged me, tightly. "I'm going to miss you when you leave tomorrow." I said, then sighed, when I pulled away from Nick's arms.

Nick nodded, slightly, a frown on his mouth. "Me, too."

"Let's enjoy this night together. Let's do something fun." I said, with excitement & Nick nodded, in agreement. "What should we do?"

"Let's go up to our room & change into nicer clothes, then we'll decide what we're gonna do after that."

Once we got our things from the dressing room, we headed up to our room. I was talking about the day we had so far & my thoughts on how he surprised me, but he kept pretty quiet. "What's wrong with you? Why are you so quiet?" I asked as we rode up to our floor in the elevator.

"Just taking it all in." He said with a soft smile as he leaned his head back. The elevator got to our floor & we got out. Once in the room, I went to find something to wear & decided on a solid black dress. I also put my hair up in a bun, with it slicked back, wanting to look sophisticated but also maybe not so much like me. Nick got dressed in a white dress shirt & put on a jacket. While he was zipping up my dress, he said, "Let's go somewhere to have a nice dinner, then we'll see what we want to do after that." He put his arms around my waist & kissed my shoulder, where it was exposed.

"That sounds good." I smiled at him, then finished getting ready.

A half hour later, we were in a limo on our way to the restaurant, inside the Bellagio, that Nick had picked out. When we got there, we were led to the terrace that overlooked the water & the city of Vegas. It was breathtaking & then I looked around to see that we were alone out here. I turned to look at Nick who was handing the host a monetary tip. "Did you arrange for a private spot on the terrace?" I asked, coyly & he nodded licking his lips.

Nick pulled my chair out for me & I sat down. He cleared his throat when he sat across from me. "I arranged another surprise but this one I will tell you about first & if you want me to cancel it, I will."

I leaned on the table, my eyebrows up, curiously. Nick was very thoughtful & romantic, so I couldn't wait to hear to hear what he had planned. "I'm sure I won't want you to cancel it. What is it?"

He took a deep breath & reached for my hand. "I've been doing a lot of thinking today. It will sound crazy, I know, but hear me out. I think it makes sense."

I let out a laugh. "Okay, I'm listening."

"Just inside the restaurant, there is a minister from a nearby chapel. He will marry us right here if you want."

I swallowed, sitting up a little straighter, then I narrowed my eyes at Nick, trying to figure out if he was fucking with me or being serious. "A minister? You can't be serious. You said it was crazy to get married right now in Vegas. You suddenly think this is a good idea?"

"I do & here's why. I love you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. There is no doubt in my mind that it is you that I want to be my wife. I want to have a family with you & live happily ever after. So why not just do it now? I don't ever intend on getting a divorce, so if we're married I will fight for our marriage with everything I have. So while I'm on tour or you're on tour, we'll have that extra security of being legally bound together til death do us part that will keep our marriage strong. I won't have to worry if when I get home from being on tour that you've decided you don't want to be with me anymore. That's what happened last time & I can't help but be afraid it will happen again."

"Nick... I was in a different frame of mind then."

"I know... but it still doesn't keep me from worrying. If we're married, we know we will be faithful. I mean..." He let out a laugh & rolled his eyes. "I do know that married people cheat but not us. We will both take marriage very serious. We have the same values when it comes to that. Knowing you're my wife is going to remind me that you wanted forever as much as I did. It will make our relationship feel secure, don't you agree?"

I let out a quiet breath as I took in every word Nick was saying. He did make sense. It all made sense & I couldn't help but feel excited about this. "Our families will kill us, Nick."

"We won't tell them. This will be just between us & Vegas."

I laughed out loud & looked down at our hands. "What happens in Vegas... stays in Vegas."

Nick nodded, sucking in his bottom lip. "Well, for a little while, anyway. If you want to do this, I have the minister & he has a confidential marriage license ready to go once we sign it in front of his cousin who is a notary. Then he will file it this week, so we'll be legally married, baby. And it's confidential. We don't have to tell anyone if we don't want to." Nick shrugged then flashed me an adorable smile. "And I gave the guy our birth certificates already, that I got from Phil. I'm so glad he still carries copies in his briefcase. So what do you say? Should I got get him & bring him out here or should I send him away?"

I bit my lip & leaned back in my chair, looking into Nick's eyes, intensely. He was so serious & I could see how much he wanted to do this. It would make us fight to stay together if things got tough, instead of giving up so easily, like so many couples do these days. Both Nick & I never wanted to get divorced. We had talked about that many times in the years we've known each other. "Okay, go get him. Let's do this."

Nick's face lit up. "Really? Are you sure?" He asked as he slid his chair back & put his hands on the arms of it.

"Yes. But... what about rings?"

"I don't think we want to wear rings right now... so we can wait until we're ready to share this with the world to wear rings. Is that okay?"

"Yea, that's fine. I have my ring." I held up my finger & wiggled it. "Maybe you can wear a cock ring." I said, in a low voice as I leaned forward a little.

A loud laugh came out of Nick's mouth as his head fell back. "I'm not gonna wear it all the time. How about I just wear this ring...." Nick pulled off the thick silver ring he'd worn on & off for a few months. "on my left hand to remind me of our amazing love." He put the ring on the other finger.

"Aren't we supposed to have rings, though? For the ceremony?"

Nick stood up & smirked down at me. "Do you think I wouldn't have rings?" He pulled out a box from his jacket & opened it to show me the two simple gold bands inside. "They're very basic, but I figure we can go pick some different ones later."

"When did you get those?"

Nick got a cocky smile on his face. "Remember after our interview with Ryan I said I had to go check on something for my set & you went to the dressing room?" I nodded. "I went into the jewelry store & told them I needed gold bands. I was in there for less than ten minutes."

I felt tears in my eyes. "You're sneaky. But you're amazing. You, literally, think of everything."

Nick leaned down on the table then kissed me. "You're amazing. I'll be back." I watched him walk through the terrace door, then waited until he came back with two gentlemen. Things moved along, quickly, funny enough. We signed the document, then stood together holding hands while the minister married us with some basic vows. I never let my gaze leave Nick's face & he continued to stare into my eyes while the ceremony was performed.

"By the power vested in me by the state of Nevada, I now pronounce you husband & wife." He said. "You may kiss your bride." Nick held my face while he kissed me, deeply. I was trying not to cry too hard, even though tears sprang into my eyes a few times. The minister left a few minutes after he officially made us husband & wife.

As Nick held me, we looked out at the view in front of us, both of us absorbing in every detail of this day. It was after midnight, so our wedding date was September 20, 2015 & we had no idea how long we'd keep this to ourselves. We heard a door close & turned to see Phil looking at us. I was surprised to see him, but Nick didn't look surprised at all.

"She must have agreed to this crazy ass idea." He said with his hands in his blazer pockets.

"She did." Nick laughed, his arm around me. He kissed my temple, then sighed. "I'm the luckiest guy in the world right now."

"This will not fuck up our label, either, if this doesn't work out. Right?" Phil joked as he pointed at us.

Nick & I both shook our heads. "We would never let anything come between us or our business. That's our pride & joy. Our baby." I said, smiling up at Nick.

"We need something to celebrate. Maybe a bottle of sparkling grape juice?" Nick said as he let go of me.

"How about some celebratory cigars?" Phil offered, holding out three cigars.

"Perfect." I said, taking one. While we were puffing on them, Phil took a photo of me & Nick & even posted it online with a caption, "What happens in Vegas...." Little did the world know that they were looking at our one & only wedding photograph. Some speculated we got married or were going to, but we didn't care. We were keeping this to ourselves, the confines of Safehouse Records, where it would stay until we were ready to make an announcement. As Nick & I had dinner to celebrate our marriage or as we made love on our wedding night, we realized how perfect our lives were now. We knew we would be able to face anything, do anything or be anything as long as we had each other. I couldn't wait to conquer the world as Mrs. Demi Lovato Jonas.

Author's note.... This is the final chapter. I left it kind of open at the end so you can imagine for yourself the amazing life they had together, but also, just in case, I ever get inspired by something that makes me want to add another book & make this a trilogy. I don't know, for sure, that I will do a 3rd installment of this story, but I hope you're satisfied with the ending as it is, if I don't. I appreciate your comments about this story & how much love it got. I'm grateful you kept reading even after a year long hiatus on this story.
