True face - Zeig dein wahres Gesicht

„Willkommen in Brooklyn", ist die erste Begrüßung die Jamie erwartet, als sie in die Großstadt zieht. Eines Abends trifft sie zufällig auf ihren Nachbarn Alex, der ein dunkles Geheimnis mit sich trägt. Fast hat es den Anschein, als würde Jamie die tiefen Geheimnisse die Alex in seinem Herzen trägt, ans Licht bringen. Als Alex jedoch bewusst wird, wem er da eigentlich gerade sein halbes Leben anvertrauen würde, schließt sich die Mauer wieder um ihn herum und lässt Jamie somit nicht mehr an sich heran. Jamie begreift endlich, dass Alex im Grunde nicht anders ist wie jeder typische Junge, der diese unnötigen Machosprüche auf Lager hat. Auf ihrer neuen Arbeit lernt sie Luke kennen. Luke ist nett, Luke ist nicht oberflächlich und schon gar nicht so schlecht gelaunt wie Alex. Als die Gefühle für Luke ernster werden, kommen Dinge dazwischen die Jamies Leben auf den Kopf stellen. Und auch in Alex Leben geht es ständig bergauf und bergab. Erst diese eine Sache mit seiner besten Freundin Sky, dann der Drogenrausch in einem Club und schließlich diese finsteren, hasserfüllten Augen, die Alex jedes Mal einen Schauer über den Rücken jagen. Wäre es vielleicht doch sinnvoll, Jamie eines Tages die Wahrheit zu erzählen, oder ist es genauso leichtsinnig, wie an dem einen Tag, als er seine Mutter verlor? Die Auseinandersetzung zwischen seinem eigenen Ich und der Art wie man eigentlich sein möchte, werden immer wieder zum Wettstreit und verleiten Alex dazu Dinge zu tun, die er im Grunde nie getan hätte, würde er nicht immer so egoistisch handeln. Und auch Jamie geht diese merkwürdige, oberflächliche Art von Alex langsam auf den Senkel. Doch was in Wahrheit hinter den beiden unterschiedlich, aufeinandertreffenden Charakteren steckt, ist nur eine Frage der Zeit bis es eventuell doch ans Licht gebracht wird.
