Pure Jam - YMO

Ryuichi finally completed his new computer setting for producing music. He invited Haruomi and Yukihiro to test out the new equipment on some of their songs and maybe try out some games that Ryuichi installed for the three.

He heard a knock on his door and opened it. "Hello, Sakamoto-kun!" Yukihiro happily greeted and Ryuichi invited him in along with Haruomi. To Haru and Ryuichi's surprise, Yukihiro brought homemade cookies while Haru only brought soda he just bought on the way. Ryuichi thanked the two for the souvenirs and it'll go great with the session later.

"Right this way." Said Ryuichi, leading the two to his studio. He opened the door and revealing the glory of his new setup. Yukihiro and Haruomi pulled chairs for both of them and the three picked some of their best hits and tested them out. The remastering test was a success and Ryuichi asked the two if they want to play some games. "Sure!". "That sounds fun." Said Haru after Yuki.

Ryuichi then searched the drawers for his gamepad and connected it to his computer when he found it. "What game are we playing?". "I found a nice game of a bread. Its name is 'I Am Bread'." Ryuichi explained. He loaded up the game and the three decided to do rock-paper-scissors to decide who goes first. "Rock... paper... scissors!" Haru and Ryuichi threw rocks and Yuki threw a paper. "I won!" Yuki cheered and he goes first.

Ryuichi lent Yukihiro the controller and started the first level. "Okay. How do I do this?" he pressed both left and right trigger buttons while mashing the main button and the bread moved. "I think I got it." Yuki then carefully moved the bread and broke a jar of jam. He was doing well although slow but almost at the end of the level. Haru had went to the kitchen to get the snacks both of them brought. "Are you winning, Yukihiro?" he suddenly leaned in and whispered and it broke Yuki's focus. The bread fell on the floor.

"No... no, no, no, no, no!" Yukihiro frantically mashed all of the buttons to move but the bread was no longer edible. "Hosono-san!" he cried in complaint and Haru shrugged it off. Yukihiro restarted the round and Haru and Ryuichi did another round of rock-paper-scissors since they tied. "Rock, paper, scissors!" Ryuichi threw scissors this time while Haru threw paper and Ryuichi gets the second turn. "Okay, I'm toast." Yuki finished the level and passed Ryuichi the controller.

Ryuichi continued the second level and both Yukihiro and Haruomi stayed quiet. They wanted to see how fast their bandmate will descent to rage. "Good luck, Sakamoto-kun!" Yukihiro cheered and Ryuichi started playing. "This looks easy enough." He puts on his serious face and started moving the bread. So far so good then his bread fell to the floor. "No, not now!" Ryuichi panicked and tried to move the bread up the sofa.

"This is where the fun begins." Haru whispered and Ryuichi yelled, "I heard that!" he tried to put his focus back on the game. "Come on... don't mess with me, camera!" he grunted at the confusing camera angle and the bread was losing its grip. Ryuichi groaned and half cried to get the bread on a safe surface but it slipped and fell. "No! Come on!!" he mashed all of the buttons but he lost.

He let out a hard sigh, "Okay! Let's try this again... one more time!" and restarted the level. Ryuichi's determination soon turned to frustration when he messed up again. And the screams of frustration devolved to screams of pain. Haru and Yuki were trying their best to hold their laughter. "Shut it, you two!" Ryuichi yelled at the escaped snickers he heard and decided to heat the bread on the heating iron. "There! I'm toast!" he loudly sighed in between relieve and annoyance, nearly slamming his controller. "That is the ugliest piece of bread I've ever seen." He spat at the screen.

The trio decided to have a break before Haru's turn. They enjoyed Yuki's homemade cookies and it calmed Ryuichi down from the hell he went through. "This is actually good.". "Dang... drum boi can bake." Complimented Haru after Ryuichi. He finally calmed down and it was Haru's turn. Haru took the controller and started the next level.

Haru's bread flopped through the bed, through the pillows and to the bedside lamp calmly and made pass through the boxes. Ryuichi and Yukihiro looked at Haru's near flawless movement in shock that their jaws almost touched the floor. Haru scaled the bread on the wall very calmly that it was almost halfway to the heating iron. The bread climbed up the drawer and the boxes then dove down to the ironing board. "OH!!" Yuki and Ryuichi shouted in between surprised and pain.

"Ah!" the shouting made Haru twitched on a button and the bread was hanging on the edge of the board. "Hold on there, bread." He half gritted his teeth while maintaining the grip and both Ryuichi and Yukihiro had a brilliant scheme. "Whatever the two of you are thinking right now... get them out of your head." Haru warned but he lost the round.

He restarted the level and the two started their distractions. "I think you should go the other way, Hosono-san. It's much faster..." Ryuichi taunted while Yukihiro started pokin Haru. He at first brushed them off and waved his hand, shooing Yukihiro but the two kept on distracting.

"Hey, Hosono-sa~an..." Yuki kept on poking while Ryuichi kept taunting, "No, you're getting further from the iron.". Haru tried his best to ignore the two and he clicked his mouth in frustration when the camera switched angle. "Oh, that can't be good.". "I was there." The two children continued their schemes which made Haru running out of patience.

"Can the two of you be quiet." Haru politely asked and he got to the diving spot again. "And here you see the bread and it's trainer, spotting their target." Ryuichi started commentating. Yukihiro understood what Ryuichi was doing and joined, "The trainer slowly and carefully instructed the bread to do a perfect dive. The question is... will they do it?"

"Slowly, the bread hopped to the edge and did the leap of faith!" the bread jumped and landed on the ironing board. "What a beautiful landing!" Ryuichi cheered and Yuki continued, "And now... the moment of truth. Will the bread become toast?" adding the suspense. Haru carefully guided the bread to the heating iron and latched itself on it. "And there it is! The moment we've been waiting for!" Ryuichi stood up for the atmosphere.

One side of the bread was perfectly toasted and Haru tried to flip it. "Perfect timing to avoid the burn. Let's see if the other side will be a perfect toast." Then Ryuichi and Yuki did a drumroll with their hands on the table which annoyed Haru even more. Haru successfully toasted the bread and won the round. Both Ryuichi and Yukihiro cheered.

Haru glared at the two children with a visible vein throbbing underneath his temple, "You two are lucky... that I cleared the round."
