— ZOE AND NATE THOUGHT that they would have a nice and peaceful evening in the church, after having some food and wine from Gabriel's collection at the back of the church; that everyone would have a good nights rest knowing that the doors to the church were locked, and they didn't have to sleep with one of their eyes open like they did in woods after escaping Terminus. For the small amount of time that they were all eating and drinking the wine, they felt like things were finally looking up, and they couldn't be more happier; but then they all found out that Daryl, Carol and Bob weren't with them, and it had been too long without their presence to be a coincidence. Someone had been watching them, they all knew that, and now that three of their own were missing, they had to be on full alert, and couldn't risk just letting it slide, because one of them may get seriously hurt.
The young couple stayed back at the church as a few of the others went to go and find Bob, Daryl and Carol - Zoe kept her eyes on the doors to the church, her gun raised, ready to kill anyone that wasn't a part of their group, coming in and threatening them.

Nate was doing the same, standing besides the girl as he kept his eyes peeled, wanting to keep the others safe whilst Rick was out; they had Judith to think about, now, and they couldn't risk letting their guard down, even for a few minutes..

It felt like hours passed, where they were all waiting for Rick to get back with the others after looking for Bob and the other two, everyone was in complete silence, not daring to speak a word in case any of the people watching them came back.. When they finally did open the door, Zoe jumped slightly, before relaxing upon seeing her father walk into the church first, followed by the others, and an angry Sasha who began to walk straight up to Gabriel, who had been stuck in his own head since they had left. Nate had been keeping an eye on him, but he didn't seem harmless at the moment, at least, in his eyes; Zoe still had her suspicions about the man, especially after Carl had showed her the scratched words on the side of the building.

Nate turned to face Sasha walking into the church, her face angry as she began storming towards Gabriel, the man still clueless on what was happening right now, doing his own thing at the front of the church. "Stop." Sasha spoke up, now stopping in front of him as Nate moved to stand next to Zoe, the two of them watching the ordeal go down. It seemed that everyone else were beginning to grow suspicious of Gabriel, too, and why he had just let them into his home without even questioning them first like Rick usually did with anyone new they come across. "What are you doing?" The woman continued to ask, when Gabriel turned around and looked at Sasha, and the others behind her, in confusion, "This is all connected. You show up, we're being watched, and now three of us are gone." She told the man.

Zoe knew that Nate was panicking about Daryl not being here, as he knew his brother wouldn't just leave without them, this was his family, and he would rather die than to just leave them and go away on his own. Everyone had that thought, especially with Carol, too - everything just seemed unlikely that they would just leave them.

"I don't.. I don't have anything to do with this." Gabriel stated, shaking his head over and over again as he had no idea what Sasha was talking about. To Nate, he did just seem like a clueless guy that didn't know about the rest of the world because he had been locked in here throughout the whole thing, the man was just useless to them at this point, and if it wasn't for his church, they would still be travelling through the woods to find their next sanctuary to live in. When Sasha began to pull out her knife to threaten Gabriel with, Tyreese was quick to stop her, telling her to calm down and put it away - things couldn't get ugly, not when they had people on the outside watching them and taking their people, they couldn't break from within. "I don't have anything to do with this." Gabriel repeated once again, both of his hands raised as he backed away slightly, unsure of what to do to convince them that he wasn't the one behind all of this.

"Where are our people?" Sasha asked, getting angrier by the second when the priest didn't answer her questions. The woman knew for a fact that Bob wouldn't just wander off and not come back to her, something has to have happened to him, everything was happening at the same time to not be a coincidence, and she believed that Gabriel was behind it all. Nate and Zoe watched by the door as everything went down, not butting in since it would just make things worse, which is why Abraham pulled Rosita back from interrupting things - when Sasha repeated her question after Gabriel stated once again, that he didn't have anything to do with this, he repeated his answer again, as Rick gently pulled Sasha back to calm her down, also looking at Gabriel with suspicion.

"Why'd you bring us here?" Rick asked next, knowing that he had to get some answers, if not for himself, for his three kids, and the rest of his family who were stood behind him, watching the interaction go down. "You working with someone?" He asked, when Gabriel couldn't do anything but stutter on his words, unsure of how to get out of this situation and convince these people that he had nothing to do with why their people were gone.
The man claimed that he was alone, that he had always been alone, and Rick didn't seem to believe him, "What about the woman in the food bank, Gabriel? What did you do to her? 'You'll burn for this.' That was for you, why? What are you gonna burn for, Gabriel?" He asked, knowing that now was the best time to confront him about what he had been up to before they came here; he had to keep the group safe, and maybe staying here with this man, wasn't the right way to go about it.

Zoe didn't even flinch when her father grabbed Gabriel by the front of his shirt and pushed him up against the barrier behind them, she had seen the man do much worse, and she felt like anything he did from now on, even if it was worse than what happened with Joe, wouldn't surprise her in the slightest. And it seemed like Nate wasn't bothered, either, still keeping his rifle in his hands and watching the interaction go down.

Gabriel pushed Rick off of him, his lip already quivering as he looked around at the whole group that were watching him already, waiting for an answer. "I lock the doors at night. I always lock the doors at night. They started coming, my congregation. Atlanta was bombed the night before and they were scared. They were looking for a safe place, a place where they felt safe. And it was early, so early. And the doors were still locked, you see, it was my choice. There were so many of them and they were trying to pry the shutters and banging on the sidings, screaming at me. And so the dead came for them." The man explained, tears welling up in his eyes as Zoe understood why he always seemed so skittish in this place. He was ashamed.

Zoe couldn't imagine locking so many people out of a safe place when they were trying to hide from danger, trying to stay alive, the fact that he had done so, made the girl think much less of him. Nate however, knew that he would do whatever he had to for his family, but Gabriel was alone, so the fact that he locked them all out for himself, didn't sit right with him. And by the looks on Rick's face, he felt the same way..

When Gabriel collapsed to the floor, he started sobbing hysterically, the rest of the group merely watching him as he did so, allowing him to break down because of what he did. Everyone started to back off slightly, when a familiar whistling was heard outside of their building, everyone freezing and turning to look at Nate and Zoe, whom had both started to look out of the windows to see who was outside. "There's something out there." Nate spoke up first, squinting his eyes to get a better look as Zoe looked over at him, "It's someone lying down on the grass, they're hardly moving." He added, recognising what the shadow was.

At his words, Sasha immediately began running to the door as Zoe rushed to Nate, the man instantly pulling her close as they followed everyone outside. "Oh my god! Bob!" Sasha screamed, upon noticing that it was Bob on the ground. Zoe placed her hand in front of her mouth with a gasp as she looked down at the man on the ground, the man with a whole leg missing, what the hell had happened to him? And where was his leg?

With Sasha repeating for Tara to help her, Zoe rushed forwards to help, too, as the others dealt with the walkers around them, coming closer to them; she grabbed his shoulders and began backing up towards the church, when Rick started shooting off into the distance, "Get inside!" He yelled at everyone, as Zoe felt Nate brush by her side and help with getting Bob inside quicker.

Zoe was panicking, since she was the only one that could truly help Bob with his leg, since Hershel had taught her some things before he died, along with Carol, but since the woman wasn't here, and neither was the man, it was only her that could give some insight on what to do about the missing leg..

Gently lowering Bob to the ground, Zoe began to look over his leg, seeing that it was wrapped up nicely, so he wasn't bleeding out, yet she couldn't understand why. It didn't make sense that someone cut his leg off, wrapped it up to make sure he didn't bleed out, then dump him on their doorstep, she didn't know who would have done it. Unless.. The thought made her stomach turn. Zoe barely had time to check the rest of Bob, though, when he woke up, gasping at the sudden change in atmosphere for him, "I was in the graveyard. Somebody knocked me out." Bob announced, not giving himself a moment to rest before he was telling Rick all about what happened to him, "I woke up outside this place. It looked like a school.. It was that guy, Gareth, and five Luther ones. They were eating my leg right in front of me.. Like it was nothing." He explained, as Zoe felt a tear run down her face, heartbroken at how he had gone through all of that, and alone - she felt Nate's hand on her shoulder, the man feeling how tense she was, and he frowned, wishing he could do something to ease her fears. He would never let anything happen to her.

"Did they have Daryl and Carol?" Rick asked, needing to know where some of his people were, even though he knew that Bob was going through a hard time; he needed to make sure everyone was safe.

"Gareth said they drove off." Bob announced, as Nate furrowed his brows in confusion, not knowing why his brother would just leave like that, especially without saying anything first.. Something must be wrong, he knew it. When Rick looked up at him with a questionable look, he couldn't do anything but shrug, he knew nothing on what his older brother was doing, as much as he wished he did know.

When Bob groaned in pain again, his face scrunched up as he tried to shift around, Zoe looked back at Gabriel with hope in her eyes, "He's in a lot of pain, do you have anything for him?" She asked him, praying that there was some medication or something in this place that she could give him to ease his pain.

"I think there are pill packets in the first aid kit." Rosita announced softly, knowing that they needed it more than they did right now. Zoe gave her an appreciative smile in response, as did Sasha, when Bob held his girlfriend down, stopping her from getting the pills.

"Save them." He told Sasha, as the woman instantly argued with him, not thinking that it was fair he had to suffer, Zoe didn't understand why he was refusing to take any medication, but she couldn't exactly force him, either, and there was nothing else she could do, so she looked up at Nate, who gave her a curt nod, before helping her stand, giving Bob and Sasha space.
It wasn't until Bob sat up, and pulled down the shirt to show his shoulder, a huge bite having been taken from his skin, the bite wound already looking like it had begun to get infected; Zoe cringed at the sight, feeling a pit in her stomach that Bob wasn't going to make it. The wound was on his shoulder, a place they couldn't exactly cut off like they had done with Hershel's leg, he was screwed. "It happened at the food bank." Bob continued, as zoe felt Nate's grip tighten around her.

Nate didn't know what he would do with himself if something were ever to happen to Zoe, he didn't think he would be able to keep going on this planet if she didn't exist on it - he felt all kinds of emotions as he glanced at Sasha and Bob having a moment, a moment that Sasha would remember for the rest of her time, because this was the last one she would have with the man she loved. No one truly knew what to say, they knew Bob was going to die, and it hit everyone's heart in a way they didn't think would - even if he only joined them recently, he wasn't with them as long as others, but it still hurt to see him in this way.
He didn't know how much longer he could watch this happen in front of his eyes, not when he had been so close to loosing Zoe lately - he gently pulled the girl away as Tyreese lifted Bob up to take him to the sofa in Gabriel's office. Yet again, Nate felt his girl lean into him as he guided her towards the benches behind them, taking her hand in his as Zoe sighed, trying to push the thought that Bob was going to die, from her mind. Watching Sasha as she silently cried following behind her brother, made her heart drop completely, and she just couldn't imagine what the poor woman fleas going through.

"You okay?" Nate asked, gently pushing aside a strand of the girls hair that had fallen in her face - they were all due a haircut, yet they didn't have enough time to do so, Nate couldn't wait to cut Zoe's hair, not only because it would be more practical in their line of survival, but with less hair, meant more of her face in show, and he couldn't ever get enough of his girls beautiful face.

Zoe took a moment to show any emotion, but eventually nodded, looking up at Nate and not being able to read his own expression; with Daryl missing, she couldn't imagine what he was going through right now - he had already lost one brother, he couldn't loose another. "What about you?" She asked softly, taking his hand in her own as they heard Judith cooing in the background before she began to cry and Carl began to carry her away to get her to quiet down.

"Does he have a fever, Zo?" Rick asked his daughter, looking over at her and Nate before Nate even had a chance to tell Zoe what he was feeling.

Zoe looked away from Nate and glanced up at her father, shaking her head slowly at him, "No, he's just a bit warm. Seems okay, for now." She explained, having felt his forehead before Tyreese lifted him up and took him away to the back room. She needed to remember to ask Nate again how he was feeling, and hopefully say something that would make him feel a lot better than he did right now..

"Jim lasted almost two days before we left him." Glenn spoke up, remembering how long Jim had lasted before the infection took over and they eventually had to leave him behind to join his family. Zoe remembered that day like it was yesterday, but there was a huge difference between him and Bob, like the fact that Bob was immensely injured, and only had one leg.. Jim was fine before he was bit, other than the sun stroke.

"Jim wasn't injured, though. Bob is, we don't know how long the infection will take to take over." Zoe spoke up, her father nodding instantly at her words, agreeing with her point.

"Time for a reality check. We all need to leave for DC right now." Abraham spoke up, his rifle still in his hands as he stood by the door, behind the group - Nate was beginning to dislike this man, how could he think they would leave when his brother and Carol were still out there?

"Daryl and Carol are gonna be back." Rick spoke up, slightly edging in front of Nate whom had stood up to glare at the ginger man for even suggesting leaving without their people. "We're not going anywhere without them." He added, as Nate hell his glare directed at Abraham for his suggestion.

"I respect that, but there's a clear threat here to Eugene. I need to extract his ass before things get any uglier." Abraham explained, not caring in the slightest that Nate was glaring daggers that could kill a man, at him. "So if y'all won't come, good luck to you. We go our separate ways." He added, side glancing at Nate, daring him to make a move. If Zoe didn't have a death grip on the man's wrist, he would have lost his cool by now.

"You leaving on foot?" Rick asked, daring Abraham to take the vehicle away from them when there were more of them than him.

Abraham stopped just before he reached the door, his head falling backwards as if sighing in annoyance that Rick was trying to take the bus away from them; he would like to see him try. "We fixed that damn bus ourselves." He told Rick, not scared in the slightest.

"There are a lot more of us." Rick said, now walking forwards as Nate followed slowly, Zoe sighing in annoyance that he was going to start something, backing up Rick and his brother.

"You want to keep it that way? You should come." Abraham stated, as Zoe reached out to grab Nate's wrist again, stopping him from doing something that would just cause problems for everyone involved, and start an unnecessary fight when they had a common enemy gunning for them outside of this church.

"Calm down." She whispered, pulling him back slightly, only for Nate not to budge in the slightest, his stubbornnesses taking over.

"Carol saved your life. We saved your life." Rick argued, as Nate slipped out of Zoe's grasp, wanting to back up Rick as he knew his brother would be back, and that he wouldn't just leave.

"Well I am trying to save hours!" Abraham all but shouted, Nate finally reaching Rick's side and glaring at the ginger man for raising his voice at Rick. "Save everyone's!" He added.

"We are not going anywhere without our people." Rick warned him, knowing that Nate was by his side, and appreciating his backup; what would normally be Daryl, Nate stood, and Rick didn't mind one bit.

"Your people took off." Abraham said, side glancing at Nate as his upper lip twitched in anger.

"They're coming back." Nate finally spoke up, stepping forwards once again in a threatening way, something Abraham didn't care about in the slightest, but something that made Zoe nervous, Maggie grabbing her hand to sooth her worries.

"To what? Picked over bones!" Abraham yelled, Nate finally reaching a boiling point as he didn't like the older man talking ill about his brother not returning.

"My brother will be back!" Nate shouted right back at him, moving forwards to push him back, only for Abraham to slap his hand away, his face showing nothing but anger at the fact that he had been touched.

"Do not lay hands!" Abraham threatened, as Nate tilted his head in warning, daring him to push him away again.

Only, Nate didn't get a chance to act on it, as Glenn quickly stepped in between the three men, stopping anything from escalating any further, "Hey, hey! Stop, now!" Glenn shouted, annoyed that they were fighting when they had much bigger problems at hand. Once he was sure that Nate wouldn't jump forwards again and try something, he turned to face Abraham, "Do you really thing that you're gonna be any safer leaving right now in the middle of the night?" Glenn tried to reason, doing what he did best.

Zoe wanted to grab Nate and pull him back, but Maggie kept her in place, knowing that Glenn would make sure everyone calmed down - they all knew that Nate was stressed out over Daryl being gone, but starting a fight with Abraham over it wasn't going to help anyone. Zoe just wanted to make it all better for Nate, she hated how he was suffering due to his brother being gone, but she didn't know how to help him, it felt like Merle dying all over again, and he was a mess, then, too.
So much was happening all at once, that Zoe didn't even notice Glenn making a deal with Abraham until after it happened, the whole thing hitting her at once that they weren't going to be together after tonight ended. Abraham, Rosita and Eugene would stay for tonight, until they dealt with Gareth and his people, and then they were leaving with Glenn, no doubt that Maggie would follow, too.. The whole plan made Zoe's head spin.

Nate, on the other hand, kept his eyes on Abraham, his glare boring into the man in front of him, not liking him in the slightest - Rick did the same, unable to come to terms with the fact that Glenn just agreed to leave with him, he didn't want the group to be split up again, it was the last thing he wanted, but it seemed that he had no say in the matter. Nate felt Zoe gently grab his hand, and instinctively, he squeezed it, feeling a calmness spread over him immediately knowing that his girl had his back. Zoe didn't like confrontations, and he felt awful that he had nearly started a fight with Abraham, but with Daryl gone, he felt lost again - he felt complete with Zoe back, and his brother by his side; now that he was gone, it felt like he was back where he started.. Zoe watched Glenn walk away in silence, as Nate's jaw stayed clenched as he stood unmoving, still gripping onto Zoe's hand like his life depended on it.

"Hey." Zoe whispered, gaining the man's attention as she edged in front of him, "Daryl's gonna be back. We're not going anywhere without him, okay?" She tried to reassure him, knowing that she would be in bits if Carl or Judith disappeared. She didn't blame her boyfriend one bit for how he was acting - Abraham suggested that Daryl left on his own accord, and he wasn't coming back to them, but anyone that knew Daryl and Carol, knew that they wouldn't just leave, they were coming back, and they all knew it.

Nate pulled Zoe head into him with his free hand, pressing his lips to her forehead as he closed his eyes doing so - no matter what happens, he had Zoe, and that's all that mattered to him.
