# 4 GLORIOUS VICTORY

The Menidian warriors started to retreat seeing the big, black animal rushing with a high speed smashing Menidian warriors under its huge feet. And throwing the warriors to death with its trunks and frightening the army with its large white tusks. The violent trumpet of that animal had almost washed out the entire braveness in the hearts of the Menidian Warriors.

Cyrus and the warrior looked at the Elephants which were advancing towards them in the midst of the screaming  terrified Menidian soldiers.

At that instant Cyrus heard a voice, "Your Highness" the same silky voice which he was longing to hear.

He turned towards the direction of the voice and he realized that it was the voice of the warrior.

But the Warrior continued to talk facing  the advancing elephants, "Those animals were called as elephants and they were scared of fire and bees. Setting up fire on the dried leaves and trees, hitting bee hives, attacking the elephant trunk and killing the mahout will give us victory. Your majesty I request you to give out the order to do the same. "

The expressive eyes of the warrior on explaining the solution for that situation sent a confirmation to his mind that the person in Armor suit, with a black cloth covered face, was Amitis.

The critical situation then made him unable to express his happiness.

But he continued to do his duty as a Royal prince, the Chief Commander of his army . Without any delay Cyrus accepted the suggestion and he started to give out the command to his army to attack the elephants as said by Amitis.

As the panicked soldiers were confused on executing the command.Within a fraction of second, Amitis lit up a torch (a wooden stave with one end wrapped in a material which was soaked in a flammable substance) and set up fire on the nearby dried leaves of a tree, the fire began to spread on the dried leaves around them.

At once the speed of the advancing elephants, were slowed.

It seemed that the elephants were scared to advance.

On seeing the reaction of the elephants to the fire the soldiers began to spread the fire on some other trees which stood with their dried leaves due to the severe summer, which Yudush haven't experienced in its history.

Some of the panicked elephants started to retreat which in turn started to trample and kill the Yudushian warriors.

The Menidian soldiers started to chase and crush the elephantry and the infantry which accompanied them. The Yudushian manhout failed to control their elephants and most of the manhouts died under the feet of their own elephants.

Cyrus commanded the warriors to finish off the elephantry and to enter the Yudushian kingdom as there was a possibility of forest fire.

The warriors began to follow the command as they made a swift advancement towards the Yudushian kingdom through the forest.

Cyrus searched for Amitis and he saw her grey horse rushing in the direction of the Yudushian king's elephant which had retreated inside the green tree area of the forest.

Within a fraction of second, Cyrus reached near her and he saw her firing her arrows on the bee hives on the green trees.

The King's elephant which got irritated because of the bees, got maddened and the King along with the mahout fell down as they lost their balance on it.

The King's elephant trampled on its mahout and the king tried to escape from it.

The elephant retreated towards the kingdom trampling over the Yudushian warriors thereby killing its own infantry.

The king rushed towards Cyrus with his sword.

And Cyrus swiped off the Yudushian king's head with his sword.

The Menidian warriors surrounded Cyrus and screamed with joy.

At that instant Arses reached Cyrus and he told that Smerdis and Cassander were safe as the whole Yudushian elephantry attack was targeted only against Cyrus.

Cyrus was happy to hear it but his eyes searched for Amitis and he noticed her looking him standing at a distance on her grey horse. At that time he saw her advancing towards the Yudushian kingdom in her horse.

Cyrus started to chase her after commanding his soldiers to enterYudush.

He told Arsama to get the grey horse and Arsama neighed in joy. It seemed that Arsama too knew that it was Amitis in her grey horse. Cyrus was extermely happy and his mind started to rewind her silky voice which suggested a way for victory.

The excitement in his heart to catch her was more than the excitement of capturing the Yudushian kingdom which he had dreamt for years.

The news of the death of the Yudushian king in the hands of Cyrus spread through the Menidian army and the excited Menidian warriors advanced with more energy towards the Yudushian kingdom.

The dried leaves of the forest started the forest fire and it made the Menidian warriors to speed up in to the Yudushian kingdom like a wind.

Before Cyrus could catch her she entered in to a tank of warriors.

Cassander, Smerdis and Arses joined Cyrus and the Menidian army entered the kingdom and after some time they captured the palace.

Cassander, Smerdis and Arses diverted in to different directions inside the palace and most of the Yudushian warriors surrendered.

Cyrus entered in to the west of the palace with his warriors, but his mind was searching for Amitis, he wanted to see her then.

All of a sudden a Yudushian warrior who was hiding behind a pillar threw a dagger at him.

As Cyrus was pushed aside by a warrior the dagger missed him and entered in to the shoulder of a warrior who stood behind him.

He turned to look at the warrior, while the Menidian warriors with Cyrus chased the Yudushian warrior and killed him stabbing their swords all over his body.

Cyrus realized that the dagger had stabbed his warrior whose face was covered with black cloth. He felt pain on seeing his own Amitis struggling to remove the dagger which was stuck in her shoulders, but still he saw those eyes expressing courage at that moment.

When he tried to reach her, she ran away from him and went behind a pillar, while the Menidian soldiers shielded Cyrus and took him to the balcony of the palace at the east to celebrate the victory.

Cyrus was physically present at that success celebration but his mind was behind Amitis.

Arses, Cassander and Smerdis joined him at the balcony and they screamed with joy celebrating their victory with their warriors surrounding the palace.

The eyes of Cyrus was searching for Amitis among the multitude of warriors.

But for the sake of encouraging his soldiers he smiled and raised his sword as a sign of celebrating their success on capturing Yudush.
