Days passed and finally the spring festival arrived at Perspolis.

And a chariot arrived from the royal palace to pick up Amitis to attend the celebration at the Royal palace.

Amitis went to the royal palace in the chariot. She was in one of the gorgeous attire which was presented to her by the queen before.

When her chariot entered the palace, she noticed the big crowd of Menidians who had arrived to the Royal palace to greet their Great king on the occasion of spring festival.

The soldier (the same soldier who took her to meet the king) took her to the place at the facade of the palace where the queen and the ladies of the royal place have seated to watch the celebrations going on.

Amitis walked on the stairs which took her to the queen.

When Amitis reached half the way, the Queen stood up with a smile to receive her which in turn made the ladies who had seated there to stand up.

Amitis felt goose bumps when she saw the Royal queen of Menidia who has been standing to receive her.

The queen hugged her with a kiss and she asked Amitis to sit on the royal chair which has been arranged for her beside the throne of the queen to watch the celebration.

Amitis was extremely nervous since it was the very first time for her to watch such a crowd and such a big celebration.

Her eyes started to search for Cyrus and she found him sitting in the row which was just below the king's royal throne. She felt butterflies in her stomach when she realized him looking at her already.

Cyrus who has been waiting for her arrival found a great relief when she got down from the chariot which he had sent for her.

She looked like a girl getting down from heaven in most beautiful attire.

He wanted to run to hug her at that instant and he felt that he has been losing control of his legs.

He felt happy when he saw his mother receiving her with a kiss. He just wanted her to look at her. He never minded the brother and the cousin of Amitis, his friends Artunis and Arses who have been sitting behind him.

But as he expected she looked at him within a fraction of second. He felt happy but he controlled his expression of happiness since he felt that the people who might have been watching him would estimate him as insane.

At afternoon Amitis joined the King's family along with her brother for the royal lunch.

It was a usual procedure at the palace during the celebration at which the great King would be dining with his family as well as the Chief Commanders of his army.

Amitis didn't dare to face Cyrus in the presence of the great King, her brother and cousin.

Even though the dining table has been filled with the worlds tastiest foods, Cyrus and Amitis wanted the lunch to be completed then, since they felt embarrassed since both of them felt that everyone in the lunch has been noticing their attitudes secretly.

And Amitis felt that she was in awkward situation since she was sitting with the Cyrus and his parents along with her Brother and cousin for the first time.

Finally after lunch the queen took Amitis to the garden of the palace for a walk.

While they were discussing things Amitis noticed Cyrus who has been looking at her from the balcony of his room.

Amitis was unable to concentrate in her conversation with the Queen since it was one of her favorite topic about the plants.

Cyrus who has been searching for her after lunch went disappointed to his room and all of a sudden he noticed her walking with his mother in the garden. He rushed to the balcony and kept looking at her. He said to himself, "Mother what are you doing there with my girl? From morning itself I have been struggling to speak a single word with her but these lovable people have been ruining my beautiful moments."

While he was thinking he heard someone opening his room. It was his friends Artunis, Arses, Smerdis and Cassander who have been hurrying inside towards the couches of his room and it seemed that they were in the midst of a serious discussion.

He rushed from the balcony into his room and joined the conversation since he didn't wanted them to find out that he has been watching Amitis in the garden but his mind roamed around Amitis.

Amitis felt disappointed when she realized that Cyrus was not in the balcony. She managed to bring her concentration again and resumed her conversation with the queen about the plants.

At evening the Queen gave attire with the most beautiful works and stones of the world to Amitis to wear for the celebrations which would be taking place at night.

The queen itself admired her beauty in that attire.

The heart of Amitis has been searching for Cyrus to get complement for her look in the new attire.

Finally at about Dusk Amitis, the Queen along with the Royal ladies went to the facade of the Royal palace to watch the celebrations and they got seated. And Amitis was asked to sit in the chair beside the queen's throne.

The surroundings of the royal palace were illuminated with huge burning pots and torches.

Amitis searched for Cyrus and she saw him standing beside the King with his friends as usual.

But she noticed him looking at her every now and then.

The celebrations started and Amitis lost herself in the songs and dances of the people and the children.

The dance of the young girls with harps and the singing of the children with tambourines accompanied with the sound of the drums which acclaimed the welcoming of the spring in to the Menidian Empire along with the sounds of trumpets made the eyes of Amitis to get widened with amazement since there was no such big celebrations in her small village Pairidaeza but she had heard something regarding this celebrations at the palace from her grandmother before.

While watching the dance made by the young girls Amitis looked at Cyrus and she tried to control her laughter when he gestured that he swear with his heart that he was not at all watching at the young girls.

The artists from different parts of Menidian Empire entertained the King as well as the people with their performances.

Amitis was already aware since Artunis had informed her already about the celebrations which would be lasting even after midnight.

At about late night, while Amitis was watching the celebrations a maid of the palace came to Amitis and whispered in her ears that Cyrus has been waiting to meet her at the top of the tower which was located behind the palace.

Amitis searched for Cyrus and after assuring that he had already left to the place she stood up and bowed the queen who was fully immersed in enjoying the celebrations. The queen noticed Amitis and she bowed in response (which means she had permitted her to go).

The maid directed her to the tower and Amitis walked faster towards the way.

She walked alone towards the tower and her enthusiastic minds to meet Cyrus haven't noticed that the sound of the celebrations seemed very far from her. As everyone in the palace had been to enjoy the celebrations including the soldiers in charge, the illuminated palace was empty and she found not even a single man around.

But she kept on walking and she left the palace and entered the path which led to the tower. But some intuition in her mind kept on warning her to get back to the place of celebration but her eagerness to meet Cyrus who has been waiting for her made her to move mad her mind to ignore the warning.

She stepped on the steps in to the tower which had been illuminated by burning torches here and there which led to its top.

She managed to climb on the stairs and she started to breath heavily.

When she reached the top she found none in the balcony she looked at the dark sky which stood in front of her eyes since that balcony faced the places behind the palace.

The cold breeze which has been whistling in to the tower brought chillness to climb from her toe to head.

Even though she was a warrior she was left without any weapons since she entered Perspolis.

She realized that she was alone at that place.

At once she heard a foot step behind her.
