Today, all we have left of all these magnificent creatures are their fossilized remains, and in some cases, mummified corpses.  Today, some of their descendants still live among us, but never again will the dinosaurs, woolly mammoths, sabre-tooth cats, or mammal-like reptiles walk the Earth.  Today we continue to study these great creatures, and learn about how they lived, what they ate, and what they looked like.  Pop culture, as well, keeps the memories of these animals alive, with countless movies, books, and tv shows starring them.  But most importantly, if these creatures have truly taught us anything, it's this-No species lasts forever.
