chapter 9- The end.

"The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time."
― Mark Twain

The five children walk through Cair Paravel aslan in between them, horns blowing . They walk up the aisle happily, as the narnians surround them, everyone feeling joyous on this occasion. The children reach the five seats the middle on standing the highest the each walk to their seat but before Alex sits he looks to Oreius both sharing a look while smiling.

"To the glistening eastern sea, I give you Queen Lucy the Valiant." the mousy haired boy watches as the two beavers bring five crowns forward mr tumnus following places a silver crown on Lucy's head. "To the great western woods, King Edmund the Just." mr tumnus then places Edmunds crown on his head "

"To the radiant southern sun, Queen Susan the Gentle." A crown is placed on Susan's head. "to the clear northern skies, King Peter the Magnificent." mr tumnus places a bronze crown on Peter's head.

"And to the Hope for Narnia, King Alexander the noble saviour I give you hope for you and your people shall you always be your noble self in times of need." Alex smiles as mr tumnus places the golden crown on his his head.

"Once a king or Queen of Narnia, always a king or queen." Aslan says before everyone begins chanting "Long live King Alexander! Long live King Peter! Long live Queen Susan! Long live King Edmund! And long live Queen Lucy!" The siblings all beam to each other.

Alex walks over to Lucy and mr tumnus and sees as they watch aslan leave "Don't worry luce he will return when we truly need him." The two people turn around in surprise having not heard him "Now luce i think peter was looking for you." Lucy runs away looking for her brother leaving only mr tumnus and Alex who both stand near each other looking at the sun. "Thank you for saving everyone. Thank you for saving me." mr tumnus notices Alex's sad look after a moment. Alex says, "I know we will have to return home one day and everything will change."

"You will still have your sisters and your brothers." the faun tells him. "And I shall ever be grateful for them but I once i return i shall be sent to fight another war many of the men sent over dont return and ones who have aren't like they were before." The other man pulled him into a hug no words were exchanged for awhile they just hugged because in the end what could mr tumnus say to a young boy a child being sent off to his second war.

The five siblings rode through the forest each on their own horse, all attempting to chase a stag. "Come on Ed." Susan yelled to her little brother who was behind them all. "Just catching my breath!" all now were in front of Edmund "What did he say, Susan?" Lucy asked with a cheeky grin Alex looked at his siblings all still holding the childlike resemblance

"You girls stay at the castle, I'll go get the stag myself." Susan mocked.

"What is this?" Alex asks, looking at the lamppost covered in vines. "It seems familiar..."

"Like from a dream." Peter says finishing his brother's sentence.

"Or a dream of a dream...Spare Oom" Lucy tells them walking into a different direction..

"Not again." Peter groans. "Come on" Lucy says carrying on walking.

"She's always running off," Edmund groans. "These aren't branches..." Alex says walking through the coats. "There coats" Susan points out

"Stop pushing...ah.... " All the children groan, the wardrobe door flies open and all five fall on the floor, the door to the room opens and the professor walks in with the ball.  "There you are. Now what were children doing in the wardrobe?" The professor asks with a knowing look in his eye..

"You wouldn't believe us if we told you," Alex says with a grin. The Professor throws a ball to Alex who catches it and with a twinkle in his eye the professor says "Try me."

Alex stands staring at the wardrobe and attempts to open it but with no luck nothing happens. The normal wardrobe just appears, the boy sighs but knows it's not time and just as he shuts the door he hears a familiar roar of aslan.
