Chapter 28

Third person's POV

Mina involuntary nods her head while starting to wipe her own tears,

But The Queen didn't see that because she's on the other side of the door right now. Chaeyoung is so worried about Mina that she can't bring herself to leave, 'My Mina, you be a good girl and stop crying now. No more tears huhm?! You listen to me and I will be back faster than my horse could run.'

'Yes...' a very soft but still soaked with sulkiness reply can be heard. No matter how upset she is, but the love which this innocent Princess has for the great Queen is still as big as an ocean, and that's why her heart gave in,

Chaeyoung's face lits up after finally hearing a "yes" after so many "no" from Mina today. She looks at Nayeon and JiHyo, then silently celebrates with a thumb up. The three of them chuckle softly at the innocent little Penguin who is trying hard to put on a hard shell but at the same time, struggling to hide her already fallen and very soft heart.

◇◇◇◇

After The Queen left, Nayeon and JiHyo knock on Mina's door, 'Your Highness, it's just us now, Head Court Lady Nayeon and me.' JiHyo tells her,

Mina proceeds to open the door for them. JiHyo quickly holds onto Mina's arm and pats her gently, calming the Princess down from all the crying, while Nayeon sat down on a chair nearby, 'Mina, are you still upset at Her Majesty?' She asks,

'Head Court Lady, my heart has already given in to Her Majesty, but my pride... I can't seem to accept the fact that she decided to let me go.' Mina speaks what's in her heart,

Nayeon and JiHyo look at each other, knowing that it's the right time to tell Mina the whole story, 'Mina, Her Majesty never wants to let you go. That royal decree, it's actually... a plan that she had, a grand plan to ultimately have you as her wedded wife without breaking her friendship with Vice Minister JeongYeon, a self inflicted pain plan but at the end of it, Her Majesty said it will definitely give you a royal title that you deserve.'

'What???' Mina asks in shock hearing that, she looks at JiHyo as if wanting to confirm what Nayeon just said,

JiHyo nods her head at the Princess, 'Yes, Your Highness, it's true. Late last night, Her Majesty called for me and Head Court Lady Nayeon over to discuss the plan.'

'But... but what kind of a mean plan is it?' Mina complains, 'What if I get into dangerous situations when I'm out of Her Majesty's sight? Isn't she worried about that?'

'A special group of soldiers were already set up, ready to protect you with all their lives.' Head Court Lady tells her,

'What if... I go very very far away, and Her Majesty can't find me?' The Princess is trying to look for a fault in this plan,

'I have the responsibility of secretly writing Her Majesty letters to let her knows about your whereabouts and your well being.' JiHyo replied,

'And what if while I'm away from Her Majesty, someone tries to win my heart? Isn't she worried about that?' Mina continues to criticise,

'Her Majesty especially made sure I understand this task here very well, she told me to interfere at all cost and do not let anyone makes a move on you.' JiHyo remembered how much Chaeyoung emphasised this part,

Mina is now able to smile a little, knowing how the Queen is still being protective of her as ever. Mina isn't being too obvious but it would be a lie if she says that she's not impressed at how quickly Chaeyoung set up this whole network of safety measures around  her in such details.

'Mina, Her Majesty said it's the rule of using a shrimp to catch a bigger prawn. It would be painful for both you and her at first, but after that it's a happy ending. She said this plan won't take too long, 2 weeks or 1 month is the most for Vice Minister JeongYeon and the government members to take actions, but who would have thought, just the first day and Her Majesty is already down so bad herself, she felt so lovesick because she simply couldn't take her own medicine.' Head Court Lady Nayeon further explained the whole thing,

Mina's anger and self pity have reduced more than half knowing that Chaeyoung has never actually let her go, and that she is still the number one priority to the loving Queen,

'Mina, the plan is working so well, and a lot faster than we expected too. Just one day and the Vice Minister JeongYeon has already surrendered, and I'm confident to tell you that those conservative government members are next to be defeated because my God, you should have seen their faces when they heard about how Her Majesty felt unconscious.' Nayeon brings some more good news,

Mina's heart just jumps, she can't help but have her hope up, hoping for the dream that she always dreams about would finally come true,

'So Your Highness, Her Majesty deserves to be forgiven.' JiHyo gives Mina advice while patting her back to sweeten the deal,

The Princess slowly nods her head, already forgiven the Queen a while ago eventhough she still hasn't taken off the hard shell on the outside,

Nayeon and JiHyo smile at each other, very satisfied with their team work, very happy with how sturdy the bridge is, the bridge that they built for these two love birds to reunite.

◇◇◇◇

On the other hand, when Chaeyoung got back to the front of her main palace, she makes sure to have two maids holding both of her arms, supporting her to slowly walk inside,

As soon as the government members saw their Queen and how lifeless she looks, they all immediately kneel down, 'Your Majesty, please take care of your health! You should rest in bed, where did you go?'

The Queen slowly sits down on the main chair in the hall, her eyes sadly look into the distance, 'I... I just went to the garden, I needed some fresh air to... breath some life into my lifeless body.'

They all got panic hearing that, 'Your Majesty, you are the life of this Kingdom. Please stay strong! Don't scare us like this!'

The left wing Minister looks up, 'Your Majesty, the royal physician said that you have no illnesses, you felt unconscious because of the sadness in your heart. Please tell us what is that sadness you are feeling?'

Chaeyoung is still just staring into nothingness without speaking a word, making the government members even more worried,

'Do you even have to ask? Everyone in this palace knows the reason.' The right wing Minister tells the left wing Minister with his gritted teeth,

A Councillor joins in their not so subtle discussion, 'If the Princess from Macedon is what our Queen wants, why don't we just let Her Majesty have her?'

'We have never stopped Her Majesty from making the girl hers...' Another Councillor replied,

The Queen glances at them while listening to their conversation, she then sighs loudly while having her hands holding her head as if she's having a massive headache,

'Your Majesty, are you alright?' The State Councillor finally speaks up with a voice full of concern,

Hyung Sik who is standing right next to the Queen, totally can read the sign perfectly, he quickly speaks up, 'State Councillor, Her Majesty regained her conciousness thanks to Mina who was here earlier to take care of her, but now that the girl is not here, I'm afraid that Her Majesty's fever has come back.'

'Guards! Bring Mina here immediately!' A Minister hurriedly commands,

'Don't...' Chaeyoung stops them, 'It's no use because... after that I will have to let her go again.'

'Why? Your Majesty, you can just keep her here, we won't have a word of complain.' They tells her,

'It's me... The problem is me...' The Queen's voice is so sad, 'I don't have the heart to keep Mina here as a maid, making her to serve me as a maid forever seems to be the cruellest thing I can do to a royalty like her. And by now, you all should know that I... I love her, therefore I can't be that cruel to the girl I love.'

The government members are all looking at each other. They now understand what their Queen really wants, and with everything that they have observed from the Princess of Macedon, they are sure that the girl is pure, kind and very loyal to their Queen. Even if they want to, they just simply can't find any reason to hate on Mina, and with their Queen has shown them that Mina is the source of life for her, they can't do anything but to surrender, 'Your Majesty, I know our revenge on the Myoui was over long ago, but still, wouldn't it be better if you don't have to hear the word 'Myoui' anymore?' The Foreign Affair Minister suddenly asks,

The Queen creases her brows right away, not sure what to take off this sudden question,

Right then, the Internal Affairs Minister joins in while smiling, 'Your Majesty, I agree with the Foreign Affairs Minister, let's not hear the word "Myoui" anymore. Instead of Myoui Mina, why don't you make her a Son, "Son Mina"?'

The Queen has to bite her lips to stop her smile from reaching her ears. There are no words to explain the immense amount of happiness that is flowing in her veins right now, the happiness of knowing that she finally can marry her National Treasure and give the girl she loves a royal title without having any obstruction,

The State Councillor chuckles softly to himself seeing the sparkles in the Queen's eyes, 'Your Majesty, we will prepare a formal proposition about it. As for now, please take good rest! Your health is the most important.' He tells Chaeyoung,

'Yes, of course I will take care of my health! Most definitely!' The Queen replied with a bright smile while trying hard to stop herself from jumping out of her chair with this state of happiness elevation inside of her.

◇◇◇◇

Walking out of the Queen's palace, the State Councillor takes a moment to settle his own thoughts, then he walks straight to Consort Tzuyu's palace,

'Father, I've missed you.' Consort Tzuyu happily greeted her father,

'I've missed you too, my daughter.' State Councillor lets himself be informal with the Consort because there are only the two of them right now. He then sits down on a chair and Consort Tzuyu sits down opposite her father. State Councillor looks at his daughter for awhile before speaking up, 'My daughter, are you... happy?'

Tzuyu looks at her father's facial expression and she can tell that he's worried about her, 'Father, you want to ask if Her Majesty still treats me well?' She then has a hold of her father's hand before continuing, 'I'm happy, Father. I'm happy being next to the one I love. I'm happily supporting her and every of her decision.'

The fatherly love which State Councillor has for Tzuyu is immeasurable and that's why eventhough he's supporting the Queen but at the same time, he's also worried once Chaeyoung married Mina, Tzuyu will lose the Queen's affection,

And The Noble Consort understands perfectly how her father is feeling, 'Father, even after Her Majesty knew about my... infertility, she doesn't love me any less. Her affection and caring towards me hasn't reduced one bit, she still makes sure I feel loved and appreciated everyday, and because of that, I feel so lucky and certainly very very happy where I am.'

The State Councillor's eyes got teary, he knows how disappointed his daughter felt when she found out that she can not bear a child for the Queen, but knowing how Chaeyoung still treats Tzuyu just the same with love and respect, his heart is at ease,

Consort Tzuyu has a kind smile on her face before continuing, 'So Father, please support Her Majesty and Mina. We need to focus on the national matter which is helping with anyway possible so our Kingdom can have a royal heir with Her Majesty's bloodline.'

State Councillor couldn't be more proud of his daughter who is so selfless, who always places the national matters above her own. He steps over and hugs Tzuyu tightly, 'Tzuyu, thank you for your understanding. I'm so so proud of you.'

Tzuyu hugs her father back just as tight, 'So looks like we have a royal wedding to prepare?' She lighten up the conversation,

State Councillor nods his head, 'It has been awhile since Castlemaine had a big ceremony. And this one, I think Her Majesty is going to make it a huge celebration.'
