Celebrity Cyclone

"Let's go," Fleur squeals. As she runs, her cape floats out behind her, and its one of the funniest things I've seen in a long time.

Emma P.O.V

"How cool is this!" I call in a breath, looking over the colossal clearing. A massive platoon of blue plastic is spread across the floor with three stars imprinted in neon yellow. With fans and buckets of balls and speakers lining across the side, a huge pool of murky water at one end is adjacent to a wooden frame, that holds three stars of different sizes.

At the end of the runway is a turntable with a black and white spiral patterned on the wood. Right at the other end, a ginormous ramp with a metal container at the top, holding gallons of mystery fluid. "Hey, guys!"

"Hello!" Dec waves. "How are we all?"

"Excited!" We all cheer, my eyes glued to the trial.

"How does it feel to be the final four?"

"Awesome." Fleur comments, still mesmerised at the sight of the trial. "This is what we've all been waiting for."

"Well, let's get you all started shall we?"

"This is Celebrity Cyclone. Now in this challenge, all you have to do is complete it before the 10 minutes are up. Fleur, Emma and James will all start on the turntable. John, as you are injured, you will stand on the sidelines."

"On the fireball, John, you will grab the smallest star and throw it into the starting pool. Then one of you will dive into the pool, grab the star, and take it to the first marker. After that's been done, Dec will wave the flag. John, you will throw in the second biggest star, and the next celebrity will go and collect it and move to the second marker. John, you then throw in the largest star, and the third celebrity will collect it and move to the marker furthest away."

"Obviously, you don't have to do the trial and you will end up going back to camp empty-handed. If you want to stop the trial at any point, just shout I'm a Celebrity, but we probably won't hear you!"

I chuckle. "Let's do this."

"So John, you will be on the sidelines," Dec points to his starting position. "But Emma, Fleur and James, you now need to sort out which order you are going to go in?"

"I'd quite like to go last?" I raise a hand. "But I really don't mind."

"Well, a girl has never gone last before," Dec suggests. "Maybe it's time for a change?"

John, Fleur and I are all strong candidates, but we decide that James will go first for a strong start, Fleur will head up second and I'll power to the third marker.

"Making history today." I joke. "I'm doing it for the girls!" Thinking back on the days Anne, Sair and Emily left, I know they'll be proud, doing this for femininity and all.

"Well, let's get you all in position then."

Trenching down the muddy path, onto the tarp and slipping over to the turntable, the three of us all end up huddled like penguins when the table begins to spin. John stands in the sinking mud, ready to grab the stars off of the wooden contraption. "Good luck everyone! You're in position."

"Everyone, start your engines."

Water erupts from the air like a tornado, like little plastic balls and soap suds slide down the aqua blue slippery surface, making this trial a million times more challenging.

"Who gave them a megaphone?" James yells over the gushing water.

"James, you will go on the fireball. The rest of you will go when Dec waves the flag!"

Waiting patiently, a rapid gust of heat fills the air, the red flame ball straining my eyes as it erupts, filling the wind with misty flames. "Go, James!" I call, watching him slip into the pool. John chucks in the first small star, and he tries his best to hold it when a fan blows a heaping amount of cold water in his face.

Climbing from the pit up the tarp, James immediately flips on his back, dropping the star.

"Come on James!" Fleur cheers whilst he shuffles on his bum to the pit, grabbing the star again. Pushing against the constant balls and water slamming into his skin, he crawls with the star underneath him up to the first marker.

"Go on Fleur!" Holly screams when Dec waves his flag. My best friend shoots into the water pit and claims the mighty star that John projects into the pool. "It's so cold!" She squeals.

The jets aim at her body, cross firing across the tarp too. As soon as her clothed foot touches the plastic, she falls straight to her knees.

The sound of the water gushing in the air numbs the noise in my ears. There's a ringing sounding when Fleur shuffles up past James. Flopping onto her knees with her foam star, Fleur clambers to her feet once again, struggling to push against the power of the jets. The fans blow little plastic balls in her face, every so often one or another slamming into the groin, causing her to hunch over.

"Emma! Go!" Dec screams through the megaphone as Fleur touches down on her star.

This has to be the best thing I've ever done in my entire life.

I push my dizzy ass and muscular frame up the tarp after grabbing the final colossal star. It feels soft and squishy, making it a little easier to grip to. Like my life depends on it, I hurl myself out of the murky water, try to jog past James, but just fall straight on my bum.

"Go on Emma!" I see my boyfriend mouth, but the noise erupting from the water jets completely blocks out the audio. Keeping a close eye on James, he battles the water flow but it bruises his skin.

The water jets are menaces, like arms trying to push you back. Keeping low, I crawl level with Fleur, pushing the star forward as I go, when a yoga ball smashes straight into my goggles.

I can barely see or hear anything whatsoever. Crawling up past my bestie, her hand retreats to grab my own. "Come on babe."

The emphasis on her words powers me on, and she pushes my bum forward. I keep low. "Come on Emma!" Holly calls.

The cheeky star stars to slide out from underneath my body; I clutch onto its foam corners for dear life. My muscles are tired, but I clutch onto it, finding the strength in my legs to stand and run.

Running. Running to the star.

All of a sudden, one of the loudest sounds I've ever heard rumbles through the outback. About to fall onto the final marker, I gain a clearer vision to see gallons and gallons of soapy water gushing towards and underneath me like a malicious tidal wave.

My footing is completely stolen. Whilst clutching hold of my star, I'm washed all the way back to the murky water pit like I've been hit with an F1 car. With James in the pits, recollecting his star, Fleur somehow only was washed a few feet back.

"Come on, let's go!" I shout to James, pulling him from the pit. Both clutching our stars, James tries to fly ahead, but I catch up in a few seconds.

"You have sixty seconds!" Dec bellows.

My heart is pounding.

The jets aren't pointing at anyone in particular, but everywhere in the hope we fall flat on the tarp. Gaining balance, James and I shuffle to his star, and he slams down to the ground, digging his heels in.

"Come on Emma!" Holly screams like a banshee. "It's all on you now!".

All my strength had been strained, but somehow, the urge to do this challenge for so many years allows me to find my inner-strength.

Again, Fleur clutches my slippery wrist, pulling me forward. "You've got this Emma! Come on!"

I feel the cold droplets on my skin, exemplified by the wind from the fans. The ache of my muscles is immense - all I can see is blue sky and blue water and blue tarp.

But I manage to find my footing. I stand, run, and dive onto the final marker, right at the top of the runway.

"That's it! Hold your positions!"

The blasts are heavy, but finally, they ease when the clackson rings, and I can finally hear my heart beating and my own breathing.

We did it.

"You did it!" John screeches.

I stand up, find my centre of gravity, and shuffle to Fleur's side whilst trying not to tumble. Both falling flat on our bums, James climbs up to us, falling flat on the floor beside us.

James pulls me up, and then Fleur. I examine our surroundings - not only John, but Holly and Dec look like drowned rats. As I slide my goggles to my forehead, I spot James eyeing up the pool.

I ask. "Together?"

"Together."

"One," I breathe. "Two,"

"Three!" Fleur laughs, grabbing our hands and running forward. Sliding along on our stomachs, flailing across and finally being submerged into the water, I emerge on the surface, being pulled into a group hug by the people I've come to adore.

The boy and the girl that I love absolutely endlessly.
