Chapter 5

Jeb's Point of View

Jeb sliced through yet another Skeleton with glowing red eyes. He noticed all the monsters had that color eyes.

Whoever this Herobrine guy was, he really hated New Block City.

The monsters were still trying to destroy everything in sight. Buildings burned. People ran.

The monsters had caused the team to split up. Jeb found himself getting pushed back towards 2nd Street again. Monsters were all over there now.

Jeb stabbed a Spider in the heart and kept fighting.

A school bus full of children was nearby. Zombies were rocking the bus, and the kids inside were screaming. The bus driver was nowhere to be seen, they must've bailed at their first chance.

Jeb ran to go help the kids. He stabbed a Zombie just as it broke down the bus door. Then Jeb sliced another nearby Zombie in half. He ran around to the other side and killed the last three Zombies tormenting the kids.

"Come on, everyone out!" Jeb yelled to the kids. They started scrambling out of the bus and hid behind Jeb in a cluster.

There were about twenty kids. Jeb couldn't keep fighting with them following him. He had to find a safe spot for them. But where?

He didn't have time to think. An angry Endermen teleported in front of Jeb. Jeb swung with his sword, but the Endermen teleported away.

On the other side of the crowd of kids.

The Enderman had a new target--the children. It started towards them.

Jeb had to act fast. Without really thinking, he threw his iron sword straight at the Enderman.

It hit the monster right in the chest, killing it. The kids cheered for Jeb.

Now he had to find a safe place for the kids while he kept fighting monsters.

Jeb looked around, and realized he was right in front of Mojang Training Center.

"Alright kids, get--" Jeb started, but he was cut off when he felt an arrow hit his back. Luckily, the armor deflected most of the blow.

Jeb whirled around. A Skeleton stood there, eyes glowing red and bow at the ready.

It shot again, and Jeb deflected the arrow. Then he charged towards the Skeleton, scattering its bones with his sword.

Jeb started pulling the arrow out of his back, when he heard the kids screaming. He turned around just in time to see a giant Slime jumping off the roof of Mojang Training Center, ready to flatten the children.

Before Jeb could do anything, a figure leaped out of Mojang Training Center and stabbed the huge Slime with a sword, pushing it and the person to the other side of the crowd of kids. The Slime broke into four medium Slimes, and they hopped away. The figure stood up.

Emma.

"Thanks," Jeb said to her. She was wearing full iron armor, except a helmet, so her flowing blonde hair was down her back.

"No problem. Where's Mace?" she asked.

"I don't know. Last I saw him he was over on Main Street," Jeb replied.

"Got it," Emma said. With that, she sprinted off towards Main Street, killing one of the medium Slimes on the way.

Jeb turned back to the kids. They were still huddled together, scared out of their minds.

"Don't worry kids, I'll keep you safe," Jeb said to them.

"Dude, you have so much OPness!" one small girl yelled.

"I was gonna say that!" a boy next to her in some weird suit thing exclaimed. They high fived.

"Watch out!" a kid with goggles on his head yelled, pointing behind Jeb.

Jeb whirled around, swinging his sword as he did so. He cut a Zombie's head off.

"Thanks," Jeb said, turning back around. "Let's go inside, kids."

"But I don't wanna!" a small bacca exclaimed.

"Yeah! We love watching you kill monsters!" a boy in a red and black checkered jacket, next to the bacca, said.

"It's not safe out here," Jeb explained.

"He's right guys," a kid in a spacesuit said. "I don't wanna die."

"Yeah, let's go inside!" a kid, who somehow had full gold armor on, chimed in. "My budder armor might get scratched!"

Jeb took them inside Mojang Training Center. All the kids looked around in awe. "This place is awesome!" a small cat kid and a small squid kid said together.

One boy in a white shirt with a green headset picked up a diamond sword and swung it around.

"Hey, hey, hey, nobody touch anything," Jeb said to the kids, putting the sword back. "Stay here until it's safe out there, okay?"

All the kids nodded. One boy, with red and black sunglasses, asked, "Will you be back?"

Jeb thought for a moment. Would he be back? Or would he die out there?

"We'll see," Jeb replied after awhile.

Taking one last look at the kids, Jeb ran out the door.

Immediately, a Creeper came towards him. Jeb sliced its head off, then started running towards Main Street.

Before he got very far, however, he heard a scream. He whirled around.

There was a girl with a very round belly getting chased by some Zombies.

Jeb sighed and ran over to her. He killed all the Zombies, barely avoiding one of their hits, and the woman turned around.

She was short, with black hair dyed red at the tips. She wore glasses. Her stomach was huge. She must be pregnant. It looked like the baby could come out at any minute.

"It's okay," Jeb said.

"I know," the woman replied curtly. "I could've handled it myself, ya know."

"Sure you could've," Jeb muttered under his breath. "You can go inside Mojang Training Center if you want. It's safe in there."

"I'm perfectly fine, thanks," the woman replied. "I'll follow you. You look like you could use a hand."

Jeb didn't know how to respond to that. "Okay. What's your name?"

"Kylee," she replied.

"Okay, Kylee," Jeb said. "Just so you know, though, I'm going after that guy."

He pointed to the guy he assumed was Herobrine, who was floating above a tall building.

"Fine with me," Kylee responded. "Let's go."

Kylee was tough. But Jeb decided to let her follow.

"Do you need a weapon?" he asked her.

"No."

"Alright, let's go," Jeb said.

They spent the next ten minutes fighting through monsters and climbing the building's outdoor stairs.

When they finally got to the top, Kylee had to catch her breath. She had fought monsters with her bare hands, and survived.

And she was pregnant.

Jeb turned to Herobrine, who seemed to not have noticed them.

Jeb charged.

Just before he got to him, Herobrine flew at a very high speed away.

Jeb watched him teleport inside a building.

He gasped as he realized which building it was.

The Quartz House.
