"They were just a group of jerks trying to keep their precious princess' reputation safe." Chloe said taking a large bite of a dumpling, physically it didn't make sense how she could do that.

Even though she was right and I technically was defending myself, I knew that I was a lot more skilled than them. I could have seriously injured them or even killed someone, I had lost my appetite, so Chloe was now eating what I had brought. Aaron was acting as overprotective as usual which I had learnt from the time we spent together. I just stayed quiet looking at my hands thinking about it all.

"I could've killed them." I said under my breath not trusting myself not to break, the very thought made me shudder.

"Oh honey no you..." Chloe said right before being cut off by Aaron.

"Yes you could have," he said making me look up to see Chloe tap him upside the head.

He turned to look at her with an annoyed face which soon changed to concern and serious, it then went on like they were having a telepathic conversation with how their faces changed. Chloe finally sighed and stuffed another dumpling in her mouth and rest the bowl aside turning to me while Aaron began to speak again.

"You could have killed them," he said making Chloe hit him again which he huffed at and she simply chuckled before getting serious, "What we are going to tell you, well more like show you might freak you out so I want you to be as open to anything as possible."

His tone and their expressions were so serious that it made me uneasy. It was like looking at two absolutely difference people that were like trained in the military. Their faces were hard as stone and their gaze like lionesses fixed and unmoving. I shifted in my seat uncomfortably but felt Chloe's hands rest gently on my shoulders, somehow she made it behind me without my knowing. Her touch itself began to relax me and I felt like their gaze was more urgent that cold and judging.

"I'll be showing you what my factor remembers since I survived longer than Chloe's." He said making me confused but I didn't have the time to focus on that.

His dark blue eyes became lighter almost glowing, it reminded me of the sky vast and unending. It was like I was being pulled into it but I wasn't afraid, I was fully aware of my surroundings but entranced by what he was doing right before it felt like I fell and woke up somewhere else.

A large explosion went off and we all woke up with a sudden fright, the children huddled close to Athena and Artemis who were now fully awake and in their god factor forms. We were significantly weakened due to lack of resources and what seemed to be a spell casted over the village while we slept.

It prevented us from being able to use the full extent of our magic but we knew a lot more than magic to fight against this threat. Being the leader of my house I immediately sent word to the others establishing a link and exchanging information from the other leaders.

"Is everyone okay? We just heard the explosion, everyone here in the Greek region is awake and in the factor forms." I sent through the telepathic link.

"We've lost all connection to the Roman house and the angels are fighting at this moment. We believe that it was an attack from Mars that caused the explosion but we are losing over here, three of our scouts are down." Odin the head of the Norse house sent to me.

Shit, this wasn't good, we were cornered and didn't see this attack coming. I began giving orders for us to set a barricade and send the children underground, Artemis and Athena became very close with the children so it was best for then to protect them and lead them. The rest of us took the defence of the building that we were staying in.

Then there was another blast of power this time from the east side of the building, I took Ares and Poseidon with me to check it out leaving Hades and Aphrodite to staying with our lower class creatures. It was disturbing how far the mudanes were ready to go to ensure that they rid the world of things they didn't understand and that would stand in their way of getting the power they so desire.

We got to the end of the building to see the body of the host for Juno one of the Roman goddesses. Ares ran to her side to check her vitals looking up at us to tell us that she didn't make it right when a rod pierced through his head. I felt my body go rigid when a bright light blasted from the opening in the wall and a group of mundanes carrying magic infused weapons walked in lead by a wizard.

This particular wizard worked for the mundanes, stealing magic from any creature that possessed it. He clicked his fingers and slammed his hand in the air to the direction of the floor making the ground crack and parts of it cave in. Poseidon retaliated and set out a blast of magic, the mundanes who escaped his fire jumped down and began slaughtering the children in the based.

I tried to make my body move but a weakness of the factor was that those most important to your god if hurt causes the soul in you to react as they would. So seeing Ares, die the son of Zeus, my god factor made my body react like he was really my son, but when the sound of the children screaming and Athena and Artemis fighting so violently came to my ears I was able to break out of it.

As I got of the shock I felt the familiar feeling of lightning running through my veins and the warmth of a thousand fires buried in my soul. I looked up at the wizard and saw everything in a blue filter and could see lightning flashing all around me like a sphere of magic.

"Poseidon take Hades and Aphrodite, cast a spell to take all the factors after death and move to the border. I'll be telling the angels to meet you there, they're magic would be flexible enough to accept all the houses." I told Poseidon who nodded and and ran down to meet them.

I made a direct link to Michael the head of his house and alerted him of the plan which he agreed on. The best thing for us was to make sure that the factors make it out of here so another generation could gain the god factor. And as I could tell from the magic information if the spell casted the barrier traps the factor and removes it from being able to transfer onward.

"You're gonna regret ever stepping foot here and attacking the factor Mavrik. We will crush you, you won't win." I screamed at the wizard before sending an electric pulse through the air causing him to fly against the wall gaining stage five burns.

"You were missing someone," he chuckled and Hera fell to the floor right before his eyes lit up and hers turned to be the same yellow cat eyes he had.

When he fell to the floor dead her body became mobile again and she charged towards me. He transferred his soul into her body, I realized and ducked out his way feeling like something was moving under my skin. Using Hera was a smart call because Zeus was her husband in the mythology and he would be less likely to fight her.

But I made my mind become fully aware that he was using Hera in ways that was beyond sacrilegious, it made my stomach churn with disgust. I turned his game play to my advantage and caused my factor to become enraged with what he did. My energy built up in me and travelled down my arm so that I was able to send a god blast at him causing him to fall to the floor, he then rose up and lifted Hera's hands and send his own god blast at me.

He was really good, controlling a host of a god factor was one thing but being able to tap into their magic was another. I knew that I wasn't going to be able to fight in such a crowded room so I grabbed him close to me and flew up though the roof slamming him back down into the building and summoning lightning to storm onto the building.

As I was about to fly to meet up with Poseidon and Hades with Aphrodite when a blast of energy slammed into my back making me plummet to the ground. The stones scraped away at my skin and muscle and the dirt entered it causing the wound to feel like it was on fire. Not too long after I fell the wizard in Hera's body flew into my back with great speed and strength. She lifted my head up with my hair and slammed it into the ground making my head crack open, blood began to leak down my face and a ringing sound echoed in my ears.

"We will rid you off the earth, you are a disease and we are the cure." He said digging his foot into my back. "I'll make you show them what you really are, you know those children that the Norse house were trying to hide from us were quite the treat. The boys standing in front of the rest of them as the first line of defense and the older girls in the back guarding the babies. It was quite cute it was too bad I had to rip their organs right out from them, they screamed for their gods but we already had them incapacitate." He said sending images into my mind and laughing.

I saw the children standing like a real army with their magic in hand as masses of energy, their resolve so strong that it brought a small sad smile to my face. But he raged through them ripping them apart and discarding them like trash sucking their magic dry and moving onto the next one. Their eyes still open but had no light in it, their faces holding the terror and pain of their demise.

The heat of rage began to boil in me making me lose the ability to refrain myself from causing harm. Those who were gifted with the god factor swore to never use their power to control or hurt mudanes. But I had lost all sense of control over myself and duty to a promise that restricted us from protecting innocent children like that, so it was far from my mind.

And with one blast I sent lightening breaking skin, muscle and bone until a hole had made its way right through Hera's body. I felt her factor leave her body and pass through the spell the angels set up to accept other's factors and protect it and she fell into my arms. The wizard's energy left her body and she became her human form once again.

And the bloodlust left me, I didn't want to have to deal with the fact that I had to kill one of my own to save the mundanes who were going to kill us anyway. Laying her body down on the soil I rose to my feet and and flew away searching for the only survivors of the Greek house. But as the I was about to land next to Aphrodite and the remaining two other of our siblings when an arrow infused with magic shot right through my side penetrating my stomach.

I didn't have the energy in me to heal or keep flying so I plummeted hard into the ground cracking it and making a crater where I landed. I felt like my eyelids were made of bricks but I pushed myself to open it and saw that Aphrodite was sitting in front of me with Hades and Poseidon on either side of her. But none cried as much as she did, she and I were mundane siblings so despite our factors we were still connected by blood.

"They're coming Aphie, you have to go." I said gaining their attention. As I did Hades was at my right side trying to keep me attentive to him to keep me awake as he could heal me with a bit of his magic but I knew I wouldn't be able to make it to the barrier I would only be a burden. So I rested my hand on his arm and transferred my factor into him turning back into my human form and smiling feeling the relief and painlessness I needed. But I saw Hades, Poseidon and Aphrodite looking at me with horror and pain in their eyes. There was nothing we could do about it at this point though, and we were at war so our only hope of winning was to make it to the barrier and have someone release the factor for another generation.

"We have to beat these assholes." I said before everything went black and all the pain left me.
