Chapter 19

I shut my eyes in the fear of the coming future, Javonté was going to die leaving me with no answers. But answers wouldn't matter because I was going to die right after him, a link with the others wasn't able to go through. Whatever this relic was kept any offensive magic at bay so calling for help wasn't going to happen. My hands travels blindly across Cian's face bringing about an image that was beyond vision. Feeling every dip and crease in his sculpted face was more that just looking upon it. I could hear Javonté holding his own against the shadow wolves as much as he could, at the same time Cian lifted his hand to hold mine against his cheek.

I peeped through my formerly sealed eyelids to see him peering up at me with his entrancing green eyes. Without even thinking I closed the space between us and clasped my lips to his, if I was going to die I would at least enjoy the last few seconds. Our lips molded into each other perfectly as Cian took control, his tongue grazed against my bottom lips begging for permission. And without much thought or hesitation I opened my mouth to let his tongue explore mine as they danced in a deadly rhythm. It was like we were gone from the world and it was just the heat from the fire of desperation that burnt around us.

But as time went on and the shadows didn't come nor did Cian move any further I opened my eyes to see that he was looking pale. My eyes glowed more than ever before and the circle around us with it's demonic relic was destroyed. We sat in the midst of a frozen world, Javonté had the claw of a shadow pierced through his stomach while the others were thrown back by whatever force broke the circle around us. At the ends of the room were everyone from the factor group, like everything around me they too were frozen. They stood in the full form of their gods each with a weapon ready to fight but not taking a single step.

The air around me was thick and the buzz in my ear deafening, I looked behind me to see my wings were out and my white hair flowing graciously down my shoulders. Then Cian made a noise of pain and discomfort, I looked down to see where my hands made contact with him had his dark grey magic flowing into my palms and turning orange before entering my veins. Opening my eyes on horror I tore my hands away from him causing his back to arc and a wave of both our magic to be thrown over everyone. At impact they took a deep breathe in or hissed in the case of the shadows, and looked at me. They were all confused just like me but none took a step towards me to aid in my desperation, Zeus took a step forward but was stopped by Athena who nudged her head in my direction. His eyes moved from Cian to me in which he took a shocking step back.

"What's wrong?" I asked making my head explode with pain. I couldn't even hear the words that escaped my lips it was just noise that hammered into my head. I hissed in pain and clamped my eyes shut while pressing my palms against my forehead.

No one came to help me, no one cared that Cian was losing energy as we stood around. Then I remembered Javonté on the floor bleeding out from the attack of the shadow wolves. I flung my eyes open and looked for the vile creatures making note of where each and every one of them stood. And like a killing machine my body jolted forward and began sending blasts of massive energy into them causing them to explode. When I got to the last one I held it by its neck and rose it up into the air letting my words bellow around us.

"Tell your master that we are stronger than one man or a dozen shadows." I said before causing it to erupt in my arms.

Then Azrael took control of my body which only happened when I could no longer understand or control the magic building in me. He sat on the floor and let our wings extend and allow the tips of the feathers to graze the ground, then energy started to release like a pressure cooker. It was slow and steady making a casting circle around me with my symbol of the skull that had flowers coming out of it appear under me. The symbol and circle lit up bright orange and I blanked out right after feeling all the magic that I had built up fly out of me like a train.

The next thing I remembered was waking up at home once again with Cian looming over my bed but with his back facing me. He was involved in a heavy conversation with Aaron and Chloe who had Javonté at their feet, he argued that he stood up and protected us and they tried to convince him that Mavrik was an evil soul. Both were very right but him being an evil soul did not have to dictate what Javonté did with him. My hand lifted up slowly still feeling the effects of the magic drain, I moved it to rest on Cian's back allowing me to grip into his jersey and pull myself closer to him.

He wore a dim green jersey and loose joggers which had become his nightwear. He stiffened at my touch but relaxed after a while when I got close to him and wrapped my hand around his waist and pressed my face to his back. His scent of cinnamon and lime that smelt like him alone assaulted my senses. His cinnamon came from the cream he wore and the lime from his shampoo and after shave, during the few days that they stayed here I had learnt a bit about him but not enough to call him and I very close. But as I lay there and he went back to speaking not realizing that I had woken up, probably thinking it was me moving in my sleep, I did drift back off to sleep being comforted by his presence.

The crisp air blew against my face as I stood outside of an old stone temple, the cold winter breeze battering against my thick woolen coat to bite against my skin. The first snowfall had yet to arrive so I had come out knowing that it was still warm enough to stay and take in the view before it was all frozen or covered in ice. Hades had taken me to with him in his earthly abode which stood at the top of an isolated mountain. Though we were alone the mundane folk lived in the valleys below, they had their torches lit to give them light during the late year darkness. They stayed within their homes not daring to take a step out their homes in fear of catching a cold.

As I looked at the houses and how simple bit homey they looked I felt strong warm arms envelope me. A chin rested itself against the crown if my head as bare hands searched beneath my coat for a source of warmth. At least that was what I thought before I felt them begin to wiggle and dig lightly into my sides making an obnoxious giggle escape my lips. I clamped my mouth shut as I tried to get out of his hold but his height and strength was way beyond that of mine so I wasn't going to win if I fought like I normally would. So I pressed my feet against the tree that lay before me that I had choose not as shelter but to hide me from the villagers below. I then began to scale the tree until I had made a good may up and pushed myself back allowing my weight to make Hades fall.

"Omph." Came from his lips making warm mist float to my ear that lay next to his mouth.

I then wiggled out of his grasp and jumped to my feet letting out a victorious laugh. My wings sprung free as I stood above him not caring for showing my true form to him. He was my lover and I his so we cared not for hiding ourselves, so I felt comfortable and free to show my wings in his presence. He looked at me with his piercing green eyes that held only adoration for me, the way they shun and stared at me made me blush. He then grinned and propped his arms behind his head allowing a little of his top to roll up showing his toned stomach region. His long black hair was open and pooled around his head like a halo, I smiled and sat down at his feet as one single flake fell and landed in his nose.

The scene was so pure and adorable as his face contorted due to the unexpected coldness. He then sat up to face me as a few other flakes began to fall around us littering the ground in a thin crust of snow. I felt so at ease watching him look around at the beauty of the nature that surrounded his temple, our new home. I then took his hands into my wrapped ones and stared into his eyes before leaning forward and giving him a small peck on the lips making him hum and smile.

"I want to own a mundane home that feels like a home." I told him in my thick Hebrew accent.

"One day my love you can own all that your heart desires." He said in his Greek tongue that made it feel like it really would happen. Some day.

I woke up from that strange dream to see my room in darkness and the moonlight streaming through my window. What surprised me was that I was wrapped in the arms of Cian who was snoring softly his hands twitching every so often like a subconscious cencing for if I was still there. And in that moment I felt what Azrael felt in my dream, that feeling of total and complete freedom and security. I had money and parents at a time that could have given me it but that didn't, I was then told I had the magic of a god within me but not even that made me feel as safe as I did in his arms. The scent of him covering me, his bare chest pressed against my cheek and his strong arms fastened tightly around my waist as my right hand was thrown carelessly over his side and resting on the small of his back.

"One day we will have what we wish for, and I hope that's you Cian. I really do." I whispered before closing my eyes and buying myself deeper in his arms and falling back to sleep.
