Chapter 14

"That's the guy from the houses realm?! Something did smell ashy about him." Chloe said and chuckled at her own joke.

"That wasn't even funny Chloe and we have to be serious here, not only is Levi's grandmother," Aaron said gaining a bone chilling glare from me making him scratch the back of his neck and continue, "I mean Beulah is here, but she assigned the guy who just happens to want to kill him to be his personal butler." he said taking a long pull of his cigarette.

I noticed he tended to do that alot when he was stressed or wasn't sure how to deal with a situation, Cian was sitting on my bed not quite sure what to do either. But he, though concerned about the situation was more awkward because of how expensive my room was, it was almost adorable to think that this guy who tried to act cool was afraid of fancy things. I was now curled up in a fort I made for myself from the pillows I had on my bed. Everyone though conversed about the situation I was in they respected my silent wish to be alone.

None of us were expecting for the evil to come right at our doorstep, we knew it would try to get close to us but not like this. I was trying to decipher if bringing Beulah into this was part of the plan or she just came making a convent opportunity for Ash, the boy who held Satan as his god factor, to get me into a corner. Just the thought of someone holding the actual devil in them made my skin get goosebumps. I thought like that about Eli and Lucifer, but I understood the real devil in Ash. Neither him nor Beulah came to pester us for the rest of the evening, it was just me hiding away from everything while Chloe and Aaron debated tactics to deal with our new threat. Cian seemed like he wanted to get close to me but knew that I wanted to be alone even from him so he stayed where he was but kept an eye on me.

Tiredness began to take me luring me into its soft and peaceful arms, my eyelids fluttered until they closed and I was slowly plunged into darkness. The darkness didn't give me the feeling of evil, it was sweet and warm like a net drawing in me and I was hooked. But I read somewhere that evil had a sweet pungent smell that gave the appearance of something attractive so that it fooled its prey. It was too late that I recognized that this was no ordinary sleep so I was forced to keep my eyes closed and enter into whatever dream I was being drawn to.

I woke up inside my garden but it felt different, none of the creatures in it was out and the trees held no life in them. Their barks were charred from a fire that had to have already pass through because I saw not a single flame in my view. The flowers were ash on the ground where marks lined the once grassy plains, I let my wings free and flew above my forest to get a good view of the damage. As I rose I saw the real horror, the animals were in the other end of the forest, their coats covered in blood while their innards lay right next to them.

I screamed and flew over to them dropping to my knees and lifting the wolf who was at the front line onto my lap, his face was contorted into anger as if he was defending the others. His white fur was drenched in blood while some of it was missing, where his fur was gone were holes. My hands shook as I tried to rest it on his body but I wasn't sure how, my body forgot how to move. Tears filled my eyes and dropped off my cheeks like the blood that surrounded me. His tail moved catching my attention and I looked down hoping he would move again to let me know he was alive.

But he didn't move rather his tail was was thrown off and a bird who looked like it bathed in the blood, it's right wing was broken and hung limply at its side. My hands moved and picked it up making it make a noise of pain causing me to flinch and be a little more careful. I let some magic slip through my fingers and wash over the bird cleaning up it's white feathers, mending it wings causing it to scream from the pain of it cracking back into place. It's tiny wail made my heart break as I made my way to it's neck that I could see was slit, sewing the skin back together

After I finish I realized the bird was a dove, the same one that I had met when I was physically there. It too, now that the blood came out of its eyes, saw me and chirped with the remaining joy in it's little body and flew up to my face. It rubbed it's feathery head in my cheek wiping some of the tears off, it then began to sing a song I hadn't heard before. When it was done though it turned as if looking for something but then remembered it's friends were dead and hid itself in my hair. I head tiny chirps of sorrow coming from my hair, it couldn't help itself and flew down again approaching the wolf and chirping like it was trying to wake him up.

When it saw none of its advances were working it began to beat itself with its wings and fall to the ground. I quickly scooped it up and kept it from causing itself from harm, it wailed and screamed making its echoing voice rip through the air, the sound made my breath catch in my throat and my chest tighten. I hid my face in my hands and heard my own breath begin to get heavy and my  exhaust filled the air. I threw my head up and screamed letting a wave of energy blast around me making the nature that wasn't affected rip apart.

"That's it, let it all out."  A voice came from behind me making me turn around and see through my blurry vision a dark figure standing with a mocking smirk.I knew it was not Satan because I heard that sickening voice that leaked out of his mouth, and the way he stood as if he was full of power and had it nothing to bring him down. He was the same shadow that was there in the forest in our past life when we were fleeing and had gotten to the border. My mind had somehow recollected that life and had me become even more angry, I immediately made the connection that he had to be the one who did this.

"You, vile demon," I said in a low growl feeling the buzz turn into a scream around me, "How dare you!" I threw my head up to give him a bone chilling glare making him take a noticable step back.

The dove flew away far enough to be safe from the pending explosion of power but close enough to feel safe, knowing I wouldn't let him get hurt. My vision turned a bright orange colour unlike anything that could be understood or described by human minds. Markings appeared on my hands lighting up in my orange hue, the clothing I wore burst into feathers and a cloth armor much like the one I had seen Michael wearing in my past lives took its place. I slid my right foot behind me to give me a power stance, my hands moved behind me and gripped onto the air that hardened and turned into two giant sturdy swords. Around me my power snapped and cracked as my hair flew into the air, three circles of light surrounded me with markings in them. One was around my floating hair, the other surrounded my waist and the last one covered my feet that were no longer touching the floor.

"You're going to pay for this, I am going to rip you limb from limb and feed you to the scavengers of the Earth." My voice bellowed in waves breaking the ground under my feet and pushing the shadow back.

His face was mixed with fear, annoyance and a snide happiness that made my blood boil, he could not possibly bring a smile to his face after he killed these innocent creatures. As I thought that the children from the village in our past lives came to mind, I remembered the images that the wizard gave Zeus. He might not have been the wizard but he worked with him and for that he was going to feel my wrath. I rose my swords over my head making them catch on fire as I dropped to the floor making a sound akin to thunder. Then I flew forward swinging my swords out to slice him but he rolled out of the way and jumped back up in his feet getting ready to fire at me. But I was fast enough to spin around and wave my sword out making the fire fly out at him, he threw his hand out and whispered quickly under his breath making the fire extinguish.

He growled and bared his fangs at me which I reacted my baring mine back at him, he ran at me jumping into the air and send a blast of energy at me. I enclosed my wings around me like a shield and at the last minute when it was about to hit me I opened them again making the wind bounce it away from me. He cursed and ducked making it slam into a tree knocking it to the ground, I jammed the swords into the ground and ran at him at a speed that he wasn't able to see me. When I got to him I grabbed him and we both fell to the ground, I bashed my hands into his face over and over with a wave of energy coming out each time. His face flew to his side but he rose it back up with a smile on his face each time. His mouth was bloody and his face broken in several areas but his creepy cynical smile stayed in his face no matter what.

"Levi!" I heard someone scream at me making me raise my hand to see the dove right in my face. It churped with waves of air rippling out of its beak and hitting my face and making me close my eyes and feel the world around me spinning.

I snapped my eyes open and I was back in my room with me levitating about five feet off my bed which now looked like a wreck. My room was a mess with everything either shattered into a million pieces or turned to ash on the ground, Chloe was thrown against a wall with half of my wardrobe pushed up against her lower half. Aaron was underneath a cacofany of rubble with shards of wood and glass stuck into his body, Cian was floating right infront of me with metal sticking through his body. His hands were on my shoulders and his body positioned in a way as if he was protecting me from something. My eyes widened in shock and I lost my concentrate and I fell along with him into the damaged ground, I felt a barrier around my room probably put up by them to not alert anyone of what was happening.

I jumped to my feet and sprinted over to Cian and the image of the wolf flashed before my eyes, tears weld up in my eyes as I let out a defeated whimper. I used my powers to pull the wardrobe away from Chloe and rest her down carefully into the ground next to me, I also threw the rubble off of Aaron and brought him closer to me. Now there was Cian infront if me with the other two next to me in a triangle, I couldn't move or think. It was all a ruse to make my lose control of my powers, I had to subconsciously used it to attack them when I had intended to be fighting the shadow in my dreams. What was I supposed to do now, they were barely alive and I felt someone approaching my room door. I was frozen in fear, my heart slamming against my chest and my breath stuck in my lungs, every step closer to my room like thunder echoing around me.
