Who's afraid of little old me? by Taylor Swift
"You wouldn't last an hour in the asylum where they raised me"

episode 7
Driftmark

Alysanne held no sadness or sympathy at Lady Leana's funeral. She could not find it in her heart to mourn the woman who took her father away and gave him children to favor over her. Yet she still stood at her funeral.

Her father stood a few feet away, but she stayed with the Hightowers. She did not feel ready for a conversation with him

All the guests were now socializing on one of Driftmark's balconies overlooking the rough seas.

"Hand turns loom; spool of green, spool of black; dragons of flesh weaving dragons of thread." Now more than ever, Alysanne wished she could understand Heleana. She knew the girl's words held meaning, yet she could not deceiver it.

"We have nothing in common," Aegon says from behind her. Deciding to join the boys' conversation, she steps away from Heleana and going to stand next to Aemond.

"She's our sister." Aemond reminds his brother.

"You marry her, them."

"I would perform my duty if mother had only betrothed us," though Aemond held no sort of attraction towards his sister. He would marry the girl beside him in a heartbeat though.

"If only," Aegon mutters, taking a sip of his wine.

"It would strengthen the family. Keep our Valyrian blood pure," Aemond continued trying to convince his brother. He glanced at the girl beside him, wondering why she hadn't joined the discussion yet. Though she seemed uninterested in the topic, instead she stood staring at the sea, looking deep in thought.

"She's an idiot," Aegon said, causing the girl to glare at him. "She's your future queen, " Aemond says, tired of arguing with his brother.

"We actually do have one thing in common. We both fancy creatures with very long legs." Aegon whispers in his brother ear, loud enough for Alysanne to hear before walking away.

After a few moments of the two kids talking, they were distracted by the loud roar of a dragon.

"I must tell you something, but not here," Aemond says, grabbing her hand and leading her into onto the beach. "Did you hear that dragon? Well, that was Vhagar, a dragon who no longer has a rider."

Alysanne looked at him with big eyes. She knew that the mighty beast was on Driftmark and that he was now riderless. She also knew what Aemond was trying to say.

"You mean to try to bond with Vhagar, one of the oldest dragons in all of the seven kingdoms," she whisper yelled at him. But she only got a grin from him, that grin alone gave her the answer she did not wish for.

Instead of arguing with the boy, she simply let out a huff and walked away. She did not have it in her to argue with Aemond right now. All she could think of was the conversation she would soon have to have with her father.

She has not seen him since she found out that he murdered her mother.

As she walked down the beach by herself, she saw Laenor standing in the water. He was the one who took Leana's death the hardest.

Leanor turned around upon hearing her footsteps. He gave her a forced smile before motioning for her to join him. She quickly glanced at the balcony, pulled with people to find only Aemond staring at the pair. Deciding that her friend was more important than her dress, she walked towards the griefing man.

The water was cold, and her dress felt uncomfortable, but she still stood beside him. Leanor took in a big breath before facing her. She could tell he was drunk.

"It feels good to be home, but I wish it were under better circumstances," he says to her with a sad smile.

She understood what he meant.

The Red Keep was her home. It was where the most important people resided, and it's where she grew up. Yet a part of her longed for home. The place she was born. The place she was supposed to one day inherit.

Yet a place she had never seen.

One day, she would return to Runestone.

"You seem to have something on your mind as well," he says, snapping her out of her thoughts.

"It does not matter, not today," she reassured him with a small smile.

"No, please take my mind off of this," he says desperately.

"I must talk to my father," she says with a huff, looking at the waves in the distance. "The man I now know murdered my mother, and the man who abandoned me."

"Oh dear," he mutters, shaking his head. What she said could easily be considered treason, but Leanor knew it was the truth.

He remembered the day she found out. She had heard it somewhere in court. And she refused to come out of her chambers for days. He had been the third person she told, right after Aemond and Alicent. He also remembered holding the crying girl until she fell asleep.

"I have no idea what I'm going to say," she told him, truthfully glancing up at the balcony once again to see the man of the conversation speaking to the King.

"Well," Leanor says, causing her to divert her attention back to him. "Maybe you should save the confrontation for another day. I mean, you would be starting something, instead of maybe him telling you someday. Actually, that is absolute nonsense. Daemon would never. I just don't think he would have the reaction you are hoping for. He will not apologize, and he will not comfort you. It will only push him away further. And I know that is not what you want, but it is what you need. You need Daemon faaaar out of your life. And I'm saying that as someone who cares for you."

His words slurred together, and he mumbled most parts. But still, Alysanne could tell he was looking out for her. It was hard to hear, but she needed it.

Alysanne chose not to respond, and instead focused on the man approaching them. Most likely coming to fetch the drank man beside her.

"Come on," the man says to Leanor, throwing his arm over his shoulder. He quickly threw the princess a smile before starting to walk away.

"And Alys, you have more than just him. You don't need him. You have a better family. You have a chosen family."

She stared at the two men for a while before deciding she also should return.

Walking up the steps, she saw Otto scolding Aegon. She decided to walk past the two and ignore them.

At the top of the steps she saw Aemond. He looked at her with raised eyebrows, still unsure of why she walked away from him.

"Come get me when you go on your adventure," she whispers in his ear with a smirk. "I wouldn't want to miss your greatest moment."

She heard Aemond slightly laugh as she pulled away. She gave him one last smile before she walked away.

"Mother," Alysanne said to Alicent as she walks nearer. "I'm going to head to bed. Goodnight."

Alicent stared at the young girl in shock, looking to see if anyone heard her. Though it was only Ser Cole who heard. The Queen was shocked that the princess would call her 'mother' when others were around. She had called Alicent mother on many occasions, such as family dinners or when Alicent brushed through her hair. But never around others, because they both knew it could sound bad.

But the girl was tired and her mind was filled with too much. So trying to forget everything that happened or that should still happen, she closed her eyes and fell into restless sleep.

Alysanne was awoken from her unpleasant slumber by someone shaking her.

"Alys, we have an adventure to embark on," Aemond whispers to the girl as she slightly opens her eyes. Remembering Aemond's crazy and reckless plan Alysanne let's out a huff and gets up.

Aemond hands her a back cloak to put over her nightdress and leads her out the door.

Seeing the dark and unfamiliar halls, Alys quickly grabs the boy's hand. He glances back at her and seeing her nervous expression he squeezes her hand in comfort.

The two children made it outside and had to walk over various hills and paths. Alysanne had no idea where they were going, but she trusted Aemond and chose to keep following him.

They came to a stop at the bottom of a small hill. Aemond nervously looks at Alys.

"You will be fine, we have been waiting for this moment forever. You have to try," she tries to reassure, while trying to calm her own nerves.

He nods at her before finally letting go of her hand and going up the hill. He layed at the top of the hill for a few seconds before finally getting up.

She stood waiting for a few minutes, the only sound being the breathing and movement of the beast. When finally she heard the commands from her best friend, which was followed by the body of the great beast.

Alysanne gaped at the large dragon that easily surpassed the size of the hill. And on top of Vhagar sat the young Targaryen prince.

After a few seconds the beast finally started taking quite intimidating looking steps and lifted itself of the ground.

She could hear the boy's screams for the first few seconds. But then the dragon starting soaring over the seas, and she could not be more proud of her best friend.

She knew how long he had waited for this.

He deserved this.

She started walking closer to the entrance of the castle to meet him there.

Though she noticed to figures standing on the beach, also watching Vhagar. She let out a big sigh, immediately recognizing the two royal members. One being her father.

She decided it was not her problem and continued walking towards where she saw the dragon land.

Aemond spotted her and quickly ran over to her. Seeing the joy on his face, she quickly forgot of the beach scandal.

She ran towards the excited boy and embraced him in a hug. The boy lifted her off the ground and spun her in around as they laughed together.

"It was incredible, Lyssa," he told her with a huge grin, sounding breathless. "I was flying."

"Yeah, you were," she says sharing his excitement. He grabs her hand and pulls her towards the entrance, as continues to tell her about how nervous he was at first.

But their attention was quickly caught by multiple pairs if footsteps running their way. Alysanne tugged Aemond's arm with a frightened expression. But he gave her a reassuring hand squeeze and pulled her behind him, still holding her hand behind his back.

"It's him," she heard one of her father's other daughters say.

"It's me," he confidently replies, as Alysanne stepped out from behind him. She noticed Jace and Luke standing beside the sisters. Both boys looked at her in shock.

Jacearys noticed her holding Aemond's hand, which only added fuel to his fire.

"Vhagar is my mother's dragon," one of the sisters says again.

"Your mother's dead." Aemond shoots back at her without sympathy or hesitation. Although Alys was shocked, she agreed with him. "And Vhagar has a new rider now."

"She was mine to claim." Rhaena yells at him.

"Then you should've claimed her! Maybe your cousins can find you a pig to ride. It would suit you." Aemond mocks her. And then Rheana charged at him. Aemond quickly let go of Alysanne's hand and pushed her back slightly.

Aemond easily shoved Rheana to the ground. But while he was distracted Beala went to punch him, but Alysanne quickly grabbed her fist and hit her instead. The girl fell to the ground whimpering.

"Come at us again and I'll feed you to my dragon!" Aemond yells at her, causing Jace to have a go at him. The boys fought, but Aemond ended up shoving him to the ground as well. He did the same to Luke as well.

While Alysanne was distracted watching their fight, Baela stood up from the ground punching the girl against the head and pushing her to the ground. Alysanne heard the slight ringing in her ear, but chose to ignore it as Beala climed on top of her. Beala delivered a single punch to her jaw, causing Alysanne's head to hit the hard ground beside her. She quickly switched their position so that she was on top and hit Beala multiple times in her face, she could feel blood dripping down her own head.

Seeing she had enough damage on the girl, she jumped up and went to help Aemond who was being ganged up against. She threw Rheana off of him and kicked her in the side. Aemond was now able to fight the two brothers as Alysanne hit Rheana hard against her head, to ensure she stayed down.

She then diverted her attention to the boys as she heard Aemond threaten Luke. She saw Aemond hold up a rock to hit him and wondered if they were taking it to far, and if a fight between the children was going to solve the problem.

"He doesn't know, does he, Lord Strong?" Aemond says lowering the rock and staring at Jace. Jace then pulled out a knife and charged at him.

She heard one of the girls yell at Jace as she stood at shock, worried for her best friend's safety. Now they definitely took it to far.

Aemond easily pushed him away and raised the rock to hit the older brother. But Jace threw sand in his eyes. Alysanne saw them trying to distract him, so she ran forward to try to help.

But she was to late.

Lucerys sliced Aemond in the face, causing the boy to yell and fall to the ground. Immediately after he dropped the knife.

Alysanne went to attack Lucerys, but Jacearys saw her and picked up the knife. He went to stab her, but she quickly turned away from the blade. Though the blade still struck her against her shoulder blade.

They heard the guards yell at them. So instead of retracting the knife, Jacearys backed away from her and left the knife in her shoulder.

She turned her attention away from her own wound to see Aemond turn around. She could see the blood streaming down through his fingers as he held closed his eye.

"God's be good." She heard as another guard approached her grabbing her good shoulder to lead her inside. Muttering something about letting the measters remove the blade.

She glanced behind her to see Aemond being helped up as well.

The two made eye contact and she could see the terror and fear in his eyes. She was sure hers mirrored that.

Please let me know if there is any mistakes!
And I changed it so that Jacearys is now the own who stabbed her, so they have beef.
