Carlisle places the last of the bloodbags in fridge and looks around the room.

"So, that's the last of it?" Jacob asks and Carlisle nods.

"Bella could deliver as early as tomorrow. If she's going to have any chance at all, she'll need more blood."

"And you need to feed." Esme kindly places a hand on her husband's arm. "You have to be at your strongest for her. We need to go tonight."

"Carlisle, you're the enemy now. Sam won't hesitate. You will be slaughtered." Jacob mutters, he didn't want Bella to hear.

"Emmett will come with us."

"That won't be enough." He looks over to Alex but Esme shakes her head.

"She will be able to protect Bella and the baby."

"We have no choice, Jacob. If there's anything we can do to save her, we have to try."

Jacob narrows his eyes at the two parents of the Cullen clan. "You'd risk your lives for her?"

"Of course we would. Bella's a part of our family now."

"Yeah. I can see that." Jacob looks around the room. "This really is a family. As strong as the one I was born into. I know what I have to do."

Alex listens as she sees Jacob walking into the woods and hears him walking toward territory lines.

"Jake! They're coming." Seth warns.

"I know."

"We should phase, Jacob. We can't protect ourselves like this."

"They'll see it as a threat. I wanna talk! Be easier if I could hear you, too." He spits and a few of them turn into humans.

"This isn't your territory anymore. How's the new family working out?" Paul remarks and Alex could imagine the eye roll that Jacob gives him.

"You done?"

"You coming home, Jake?" Quill asks.

"Not until I finish this."

"What do you mean?"

Jacob sighs. "I want Sam to take back Leah and Seth."

"What?"

"No way!" Leah and Seth say at the same time.

"Quiet!" Jacob speaks to Sam's pack again. "I want them safe. And I want this over. I need Sam to wait until Bella's been separated from the problem."

"You mean till she's dead."

"Ease up, Paul." Embry says and Paul huffs.

"Then what?"

"Tell Sam that when the moment comes, I'll be the one to destroy it." Alex narrows her eyes. This wasn't part of the deal. Should she tell the others? Edward would read his mind as soon as Jacob returns so no, she didn't have to tell them.

"Jake!" Seth sounds upset.

"I'm the only one who can. They trust me."

Jacob returns and while he had his conversation, Carlisle, Esme and Emmett left the premises.

"Hey. Are you okay?"

Jacob looks at Bella. "Yeah, it's not like I'm the one carrying a demon."

"This is pretty important, Bella. Why don't you tell Jacob what you've decided?" Jacob raises an eyebrow at Rosalie's voice.

"What now?"

"Rose is trying to talk Bella out of her baby names." Edward says and he gives Rosalie a look.

"She hates them."

"Well, then I'm on your side no matter what you picked." Rosalie shoots him a glare bit Alex chuckles at the comment. The two would never be friends.

"They're not that bad. If it's a boy, EJ. Edward Jacob." Alex raises an eyebrow as she hears the name. How strange was it to name your child after your husband and the young man that had been chasing after you.

Rosalie sighs. "Okay, fine, that one's not awful. Why don't you tell him the girl's name?"

"I was playing around with our moms' names. Renée and Esme. And I was thinking... Renesmee." Alex had heard the name a few times now and she disliked it to the most.

"Renesmee." Jacob tires and Bella looks at him.

"Too weird?"

"Um..." he looks around for help but Alex just shakes her head with a smile.

"No, that's not too weird." Edward interjects. "It's beautiful. And it's unique, which certainly fits the situation. I like Renesmee." It was unique alright.

"He likes it." Bella smiles and she gets up to take a drink of blood but suddenly her back breaks and she falls to the floor.

"Alex!" Edward warns and she nods, going outside to protect the house. The whole ordeal had been discussed and she would protect the ones in vulnerability.

They move Bella to the makeshift delivery room and Alex listens to both the woods and the whole ordeal inside.

"Rosalie, pass the morphine." Edward demands and Alex could hear Alice talking on the phone.

"Carlisle said the placenta must have detached." Edward gives Bella the morphine shot. "He's coming as fast as he can, but..."

"We'll have to do it." Rosalie takes a scalpel to cut Bella's stomach open but Edward stops her.

"Rose! Let the morphine spread."

"There's no time. He's dying."

"Get him out now!" Bella shouts and Rosalie cuts her stomach.

"Look at me, Bella." Bella screams as Jacob tries to reassure her. Rosalie cuts Bella's stomach further but the sight of blood distracts her.

"Jasper." Alex turns to her mate and he looks at her curiously. "I can smell her." Her voice low and her eyes darken into a shade that is well known to vampires.

"Stop breathing." He quickly says and he wraps his arms around her, though he knew that if she wanted and couldn't stop herself, he would not be able to hold her any longer.

"Rosalie, don't!" Edward pushes Rosalie aside.

"Alice, get her out of here!"

Alice grabs Rosalie and she brings her outside, only to see a not breathing Alex as she is being held down by Jasper.

"Oh.." her mind comes to the realisation that though Alex was being the absolute best, Bella was still her singer. "Alex." She warns and the woman looks up at her. Her eyes dark and a snarl escapes her lips. "Please calm yourself down." Alex looks at Jasper and her eyes loose their deep dark color for just a moment before she starts to try to escape Jasper's clutch. Alice and Rosalie come to his aid and they all pin Alex to the floor as she starts to snarl and growl. Her eyes changing from dark to her own color to her wolf color. Jasper tries his best to keep her calm but even he had to admit that the bloodlust she feels at that moment, was very tempting.

Rosalie walks away and Alex hears her going to grab the baby.

"I can't do it." Alex chokes out and quickly holds her breath again. Jasper keeps sending her calm waves and he holds her close while Alice keeps walking circles around them, sometimes looking towards the woods, sometimes to Alex and Jasper and sometimes to the house.

The wolves pass the treaty line and Jasper hoists Alex up. "We need you right now." Her eyes flicker towards the house and back to the woods.

It's like gravity. Your whole center shifts. Suddenly, it's not the Earth holding you here. You would do anything, be anything she needs. A friend, a brother. A protector.

The wolves surround the house getting ready for a fight.

"We're outnumbered." Jasper mutters and Alice looks a little scared.

"By a lot."

"I won't let them hurt my family." Edward mutters and Alex nods.

The wolves attack and everyone starts their own fights. Alex let's out her anger and kicks a wolf here and there but she mainly keeps an eye on the others. When she sees that Alice is having a hard time keeping one wolf head away from her face, Alex runs towards it and slams it into a tree before helping the young woman up.

"Dammit!" She yells as one of the wolves bites her and she growls loudly before letting out a loud howl and turning into a wolf herself. She runs towards the one that bit her and snaps her jaws around its tail as it tries to hurry away. She drags it back and they start to fight. Her winning by a lot. Apparently it was a new one and he didn't know about her. She bites his neck and starts to shake her head. The wolf whimpers and falls down, barely breathing.

Jacob jumps into the fray of the battle of wolves against the Cullen's.

"Stop! It's over! If you kill her, you kill me." The wolf that Alex fought with and is closer to death than to being alive wants to attack again but Jacob turns into a wolf and stops it. Realisation washes over Edward as he reads Jacob's mind.

"Jacob imprinted." Alex turns to stand with the Cullens and rubs her head against Jasper who smiles at her. "They can't hurt her. Whoever a wolf imprints on can't be harmed. It's their most absolute law."

The wolves retreat and Alex goes behind the house to change back into her human form. She quickly puts on a few clothes and walks towards the porch where Jasper is waiting on her.

"I can't go inside.' She softly says and Jasper nods. He opens his arm and she sits next to him, his arm now resting on her shoulders.

"They'll make sure that you can." He says and notices how Esme, Rosalie and Alice are already bathing Bella and getting rid of all the blood. "How are you?" He asks and she looks at him with tears in her eyes.

"I almost killed one of my own." She shakes her head. "As if I couldn't control myself."

"It's because of the blood." Jasper explains. "But now that she's turning, that probably won't be a problem anymore." Alex starts to laugh and nods.

"I guess there's always something good in a bad situation."
