He needed a job. A job that paid him with a decent payment

Nightmare needed the money to buy his family food. His gang... they were sick and could barely move any bone in their body. He didn't know where to work until a conversation he overheard popped into his mind.

Flashback
" Have you heard? The two Kings want another maid or even a butler."" Really? I don't want to work as their maid."
Flashback end

He sighed, knowing that he had no other option but to work for the kings. They did pay a decent amount so, it would be worth it.

" You must be our new butler." Delusion, one of the two kings, spoke. His piercing golden eyes watching Nightmare's every movement." Yes. I am the new butler, my lord." Nightmare bowed in respect, knowing that if he didn't, he would face the dreadful consequences by the other king. Delusion nodded before waving him off, having better things to attend to than speaking with a new butler." Rude." Nightmare sighed before heading off to a maid." Erm, excuse me?" The maid lifted her head to meet his sockets, only to hide her face." Y-yes?" She asked while stuttering. Nightmare lifted a bone-brow but ignored it." Could you show me around the castle? I don't know where everything is."" Of course. Please, follow me." The maid stood up before asking Nightmare to follow her, secretly taking a liking to his being.

" And this is the throne room, Nightmare." Nightmare was surprised- no- SHOCKED at how large this castle really was." Thank you for the tour, Silvia." The maid nodded before heading off to her duties. Nightmare took in the surroundings. Red carpet with gold trimmings, curtains as red as blood with gorgeous gold trimmings and the two thrones that rested before him." Oooooh~ so you're the new butler?"  A voice behind Nightmare said, giggling like a psychopath. He whipped his skull around to only be greeted by the other king himself, lover of Delusion." Yes, my lord." He bowed when he felt his aura. It was sickening! It was also toxic against his goop. Without a word, the king left. Nightmare took that as a sign to start his duties and chores.

Nightmare gathered enough money in a short amount of time to get his family the needed medication. And, the more he went to the castle, the friendlier the two kings became. Their cold and Solar's psychotic ways have softened, revealing Nightmare their true identity. They were kind and made sure that no maid and butler got hurt by the guards. though, he did notice that the two kings... appreciated him? Showed more attention towards him than the other maids and butlers? He didn't know how to describe it- the feeling that crawled in his being. He pushed that feeling back down into the depths of his being, not wanting it to distract him on his duties.

A month went by and the kings started to only pay attention to Nightmare, causing all the maids- except Silvia- to get jealous. They planned a way to get the new butler away from the kings, being blinded by selfishness to not know that there would be consequences. Salvia, she feared the worst and immediately told Nightmare to be on guard. He took her word, having had a feeling that this would happen.

The searing pain from the whip was unbearable! They gagged him and whipped his tar covered skeleton body, showing some scars, bone marrow and magic seeping out of the open wounds. Why? Why did he have to go through this again? The pain? The hits? Everything!" Don't come near them!"" Come near who?" That voice..." Your majesty?" The maids froze when the familiar psychotic giggles came." This is what I was talking about, your majesties." Silvia? What was she doing here to see him weak?" Ooooh~ some people have been misbehaving!" Solar? Nightmare couldn't stop the small smile to appear on his skull." Your majesties! We can ex-"" You don't need to. We can already see what you've done to our personal butler." The maids looked at Silvia, smirking." She was also apart of this!" The two kings looked at Silvia before looking at Nightmare who had a look of pure rage in his socket." Liars! She would never harm me!" His hoarse voice finally spoke, the gag around his neck with the help of his tentacles. Solar looked back at Silvia to see a thankful and relieved glint in her eyes, aswell as a warm smile." Oooh~ I think you maids deserve a slow painful death~ Don't you agree, darling?~" Delusion nodded in agreement, the once warm golden eyes being icy cold." Yes, they deserve a punishment." The maids wanted to speak before magenta tentacles took lifted them into the air." You maids disgust me." A feminine voice spoke, owner of the voice having not revealed themselves yet." I believe that I should reveal myself, seeing as I work for their majesties." The owner finally revealed themselves, revealing the one being the maids feared: it was Corrupt, a secretive friend and guard of the kings." Take them to the torture chambers~ They'll have so much fun with my new toys!~"" Of course, king Solar." With that, the female gave a wicked grin and teleported away with the fearful maids.

" Nightmare?" No response." Night- NIGHTMARE!" Nightmare fell forward. He was about to hit the ground before the familiar toxic aura of Solar was felt, quite literally.

When Nightmare woke up, he was in an organ he knew all too well: the stomach. He knew it was Solar since the insides were orange and yellow. Though, he noticed that there were no stomach acids or anything that could harm or obsorb him. He relaxed, allowing his bones to go tension free.

Solar felt his passenger tense up before relaxing, Delusion sleeping in their shared bed after receiving arguments of feeling negative. Solar enjoyed this, he enjoyed this a lot. A small smile formed on his skull. Not the psychotic and creepy one, no, it was a real smile filled with warmth. With that, he climbed in bed and cuddled his lover with their crush safely tucked away.
