(Serena POV)

I'm just sitting there.......... Shocked....... On what I am seeing........

Ash is just lying there on the bed unconscious bandaged up all around his chest. Right now Aubrey and I are in a room that we rented at the Pokémon center and are taking care of Ash after his little......... 'stunt' to save Pikachu.

Thanks to her training, she was very knowledgeable about first aid and was doing most of the work while I just sat to the side watching feeling completely useless. She had out a first aid kit she had in her back pack to help treat the wounds on Ash's chest. She also has her Audino out to help her when she needed it.

I can't believe what happened to Ash. He took a shadow ball and a psybeam to the chest just to save his Pikachu. It was brave and admirable of him. But overall................ JUST PLAIN RECKLESS!!!

"How's he doing?" I asked still very concerned.

"Pikachu?..." Pikachu also asked.

"He is stable, it shouldn't be too long now until he wakes." She said. She then took out a tub of jell from her first aid kit and opened it.

"What is that?"

"This is some pain jell, this will help eases the pain" she said. "I'm going to apply some to his wounds so he won't much pain when he wakes up."

"Actually...... can I..... Uh..... can I do it?" I nervously asked.

"Uh..... Sure. Why?" she asked.

"I uh......... just been sitting hear watching you doing all the work and I just want to feel like I am doing something to help"

"Alright, Just don't overdo it" she said hand me the jell.

He was still wearing his shirt and it was in the way. So I started to unbutton his shirt and removed it carefully so his body was not moving so much. I put is shirt to the side and put some jell in my hands.

I was about apply the jell on Ash's wounds until I stopped when I saw Ash again. I froze just looking at him. I was trying to figure out why I am just staring at him. But then it hit me.

I have never seen Ash without his shirt before.

My cheeks turned red as I looked at Ash. Man is he attractive. Other than the wounds on his chest, he kelp himself in really good shape.

Wait......... what am I doing again?............. oh yah I need to put the jell on his wounds.

"I'll see if Korrina and the others made it here yet. You keep what you're doing." Aubrey said. She then left the room leaving me, Pikachu, and her Audino in the room with Ash.

I slowly spread the jell across his chest while Pikachu got some jell and was doing the same.

"I can't believe I'm doing this, my hands on his chest" I thought to myself. My cheeks are still a bright red. *sigh* If the circumstance was not like this, I would be enjoy this more than I am now.

After Pikachu and I finish with the jell, Audino stepped forwards and started to use heal pulse on Ash. She continued to do this for about 2 minutes until she finally stopped. After she stopped I saw something that caught my attention.

It was Ash's hand move.

"Ash?" I asked looking right at him to see if he could hear me.

Slowly but surely, his hands started to move a bit more until he was clenching both of his hands into a fit. He was groaning a bit when he clenched his fit but he still held them tight.

"Ash!" I said again to see if I will get a response. He eyes slowly began to open as I just stood there next to him.

"Uhh......" he groaned. "What happened........?"

"ASH" I screamed.

"PIKA!!!" both Pikachu and I sat him up and gave him the biggest hug I ever gave anyone. Pikachu just jumped on his shoulders and nuzzled the side of his face.

"Ouuuuuuuuch!!!!!!" he yelled. "That hurt." I quickly let go of Ash as Pikachu jumped down from his shoulders and stood right beside me.

"Oh... right sorry. You're still hurt" I said sheepishly. He then looked around as he was confused on his whereabouts as he tried to figure out what is happening.

"Uh... Serena? How did I end up on the Pokémon center?" he asked me. he then look down at his chest and back at me. "And where is my shirt?"

"After you got his by the Shadow ball and Psybeam go got knocked out. Korrina and I got you out of the cave and met up with Aubrey and Clemont. After that Aubrey and I took you here so you can be treated."

"I see....." he said. "So..... What about my shirt?"

"Oh...... your shirt......... it uh...... over there" I said sheepishly pointing to the side of the bed when I put it there. "I had to take it off because Aubrey gave me this jell that would help heal your wounds and your shirt was in the way."

"Oh.... Ok" he said. "By the way Serena, what exactly happened after I got knocked out?"

When he asked me that I told him the story.

(Flash back)

Korrina and I are running through the cave with Ash over her shoulders while I was still carrying Bonnie. We were following Pinsir as he knew his way around the cave very well as I felt like we were making great time.

"Are we almost there?" I asked Pinsir.

"Pi" he said nodding.

After a couple of more minutes running we saw a light at the end of the cave.

"There it is" Korrina said. "Let's hurry."

We finally reached the entrance of the cave. When we got there we that Clemont and Aubrey was already outside panting for some reason. "Clemont? Aubrey?"

"Guys!" they said in between breaths. "You guys made it ou............" they started to say until they saw Ash and Bonnie were knocked out.

"Huh????? What happened to them?" Clemont asked.

"No time, Ash needs help ASAP" I said.

"Help? Is it serious?" Aubrey asked.

"It could be. Please do something."

"Ok I'm on it" she then took out a Pokéball and released whatever was inside. When the light l dimmed it revealed an Altaria emerged from the Pokéball.

"I'll go ahead and take Ash to the Pokémon Center in Geosenge Town to I can treat him. While I do that, the rest of you just make your way back and meet me there" she said.

She climbed on top of her Altaria to get herself strapped in. Korrina dragged Ash over to Aubrey and hoisted him up in front of her.

"I will see you there" she said as she was about to take off. But I stopped her.

"Wait, take me with you" I pleaded.

"I don't know Serena, I don't know how much weight Altaria can hold. Just go with Korrina and I will........."

"I am not leaving him!!! I refused to leave him back in the cave and I am not leaving him now." I yelled.

"But Serena I........" she started.

"Just let her go will, we'll be fine on our own" Korrina said. "Besides, you might need some help."

She sighed "Ok Serena you can come."

I gave Bonnie to Clemont and got onto Altaria and sat myself behind Aubrey as Pikachu jumped up and climbed on my shoulder.

"Ok we will see you soon" Aubrey said. She gave the command and her Altaria jumped into the air and flapped her wings as she was now soaring through the air.

I looked down at Ash as he just was lying on his stomach unconscious.

"Just hang in there Ash, you will get help soon"

(End of Flash Back)

"After that, we rented a room so Aubrey could treat your wounds. I explained to her how you got knocked out as she was administering first aid." I said finishing the story.

"I see..... Thanks for filling me in" he said. "By the way, how come Aubrey and Clemont where already out of the cave when you got out?"

"I asked her that, she said that Clemont invented a machine that would help navigate the cave faster even though she said that she already knew the way. He insisted to use it anyways and well........... you know. It blew up and attracted a lot of Zubats and Golbats and they chased them out of the cave."

We both sweat dropped. "Yah....... That sounds like something Clemont would do" he said. Just then the door open and saw that Aubrey entered the room along with Clemont, Bonnie, and Korrina.

"Ash.... You're ok." Clemont said.

"Ya.... But just barley" he said. I then turn to Bonnie and was relieved that she was finally awake.

"I see you finally awake Bonnie" I said addressing her.

"Ya..... I woke up like half an hour ago in my brothers arms and I............ wait....... Ash? Where is your shirt?" she said.

"Over there" he said pointing to his shirt. "Serena was putting some kind of pain jell on me while I was out so she had to remove my shirt in order to do it"

"Oh......... so Serena was taking care of you" Bonnie said with a giggle. My cheeks turned red when she said that. I then glared at her trying to make her stop.

"Yah...... why are you laughing?" Ash asked.

"Oh nothing" she answered.

"Anyways.........." Aubrey said trying to change the subject. "I'm glad that you're ok Ash, but you should really take it easy for a while."

"Ok I will" he said.

(Normal POV)

It was the next day in Geosenge town and everyone had something to do.

Clemont was out buying supplies for the road and brought Bonnie along so he can keep an eye on her. Korrina went back to the cave to try to get the lucarionite again but this time she went with Aubrey. Ash was in the backyard of the Pokémon center training his Pokémon for his upcoming battle with Korrina. While Serena was going over some routines with Fennekin.

Ever since Fennekin learned how to use flamethrower, Serena was trying to incorporate that in her routine with Pancham.

"Alright guys you're doing great" Ash said to his Pokémon.

"Pika!" "Haw" "Fletch!" "Froakie!" they cheered.

Ash kelp training with his Pokémon while Serena decided to take a break. She walked over to Ash with Fennekin in her arms and decided to watch him practice in hopes to get some inspiration.

"How are you doing?" Serena asked as she was walking over.

"Great, my Pokémon are really doing great" he said.

"That's good. But I was actually talking about you." She said.

"Me?"

"Yes you...... You took two attacks to the stomach and was unconscious for 3 hours yesterday. I was worried sick" Serena said.

"You where?" Ash asked.

"Yes I was, I couldn't imagine what I would do if you didn't............" she stopped herself realizing what she was about to say.

"If I what?" Ash asked.

"Err........ Nothing. It's just that you mean so much to me and I couldn't.........." She stopped herself again. She was saying more then she wanted to.

"Serena? Is there something you want to tell me?" Ash asked.

"Oh no, I said too much.......... Well....... I guess now is a good of time as any" she thought to herself. "Ash..... I uh.........."

"I GOT IT!" they heard a voice said. They turned their heads and saw Korrina holding a stone in her hands and Aubrey standing next to her and Flaabby by Aubrey's feet. "I got the Lucarionite!"

"You did? Great job" Ash said. Serena sighed in relief that she was save by the bell, or in this case stone.

"Thank you," Korrina said. "By the way Ash, I heard from Aubrey that you are planning on challenging me for your next gym battle right."

"That's right" he said. "And I'm going to win!"

"We'll see about that." She said.

"Anyways Ash I have some good news and I have some bad news" Aubrey said.

"Is that so.... What is it?" Ash asked.

"Good news is I have a gift for you" she said taking out a small box.

"Really! What for?" he asked.

"Just a way of saying thanks for helping out Korrina and Kal yesterday" she said.

"Awesome! Thanks" he said reaching for the box.

"Before I give it to you, promise me that you will not open it until you reached Shalour City" she said.

"How come?"

"You'll see" she said handing him the box.

"So...... what's it the bad news?" Serena asked.

*Sigh* "I'm afraid that team rocket has escaped yesterday" she said.

"WHAT!?!?" both Ash and Serena said.

"Yah apparently while Kal was contacting HQ about the two he had in custody, someone sneaked up behind him and got the jumped on him" she explained.

"Someone jumped him? Who?" Serena asked.

"He didn't knew, all he knows was it was small, shaped like a Pokémon, and the weird part was that it could talk" she said.

"It could talk?" Serena said as she and Ash sweat dropped. "Darn it we forgot to tell them about Meowth."

"Yah..... do you know anything about that?" she asked.

"Uhh.......... No....... not a thing" Serena said. She and Ash rather not explain the story of Meowth or have her know that it was their fault.

"I see......" Aubrey said sounding a skeptical. "Well..... I just thought we let you know so you can be on guard. Anyways Korrina and I are going to head back to Shalour city. Tell Clemont and Bonnie we said bye."

"You're leaving already?" Ash said.

"Yah.... I got something to do while I'm there and help Korrina out with mega evolution."

"Ok see you two later" Ash said.

"It was nice meeting you" Korrina said.

"You too" Serena said.

"Well see you in Shalour city, bye" Aubrey said as she and Korrina turned around and started to walk off.

"Pika" Pikachu said waving goodbye.

"Flaa" Flaaffy said with a wink towards Pikachu before turning away.

"Pika?......" Pikachu said with his head tilt confused. Fennekin just glared at Flaabby as she walked away with her trainer. Serena noticed this and petted her head to comfort her.

"Easy there, she's gone now" Serena said.

It was later that evening and everyone was inside the Pokémon center eating dinner. Ash was gobbling everything on his plate as well as his Pokémon while Serena. Clemont, Bonnie, and their Pokémon were eating at a normal paste.

"You can slow down you know" Serena said. "It's not like anyone going to take your food."

"I know" Ash said in-between bites "It's just I'm really excited for my upcoming gym battle, I need all my energy for it"

"I understand that, but I would still take it easy if I was you. You did take a Shadow Ball and a Psybeam to the stomach" Clemont said. "Eating fast could cause your stomach to hurt again."

"I'll be fine" Ash said taking another bit.

"So......... you said you got a gift from Aubrey" Bonnie said.

"That's right"

"Can I see it?" She asked.

"Sorry Bonnie, but she told me I should not open it until I get to Shalour city"

"Awww....... Can't you let me take a little peek?" she wined.

"Sorry but no"

"Hmm" she pouted crossing her arms.

After the group finished up their dinner, they got up and started to head to their rooms. After the first couple of steps Ash suddenly just stopped walking and put his hand on his stomach.

"Is everything alright Ash?" Serena asked.

"I don't know my stomach hurts all of a sudden" Ash said groaning.

"You probably ate too fast, I warned you something like this could happen" Clemont said. "Let's get you to the room so you can lay down."

They started to take a couple more steps until Ash stopped again crossing both his arms around his stomach. "Ughh.... Guys it's even worse now" he said.

"Ash are you sure you're ok" Bonnie asked.

"It's just I.........." he started. Everything around him started to look fuzzy all of a sudden. "I......... everything......... looks........... a little........... differ.......... ugh...... I don't feel...... so............." That was all he was able to say. Out of nowhere he fell to his knees.

"ASH!!!" Serena yelled. She then got down on one knee got get to eye level of him. "Can you hear me?"

"I........ uhhhhh......" he then fell flat on the ground with his eyes close.

"Pikachu!!!" Pikachu said jumping off Ash's shoulder before he collapsed

"SOME ONE CALL NURSE JOY!!!!!" Serena yelled.

It has been an hour since Ash fell to the ground and was now in lying on a bed in the medical part of the Pokémon center. Nurse joy did an exam on his and asked Serena, Clemont, and Bonnie a few questions.

"Hm..... well it seems like to me that your friend took in more than he could handle" she said.

"What do you mean?" Clemont asked.

"It might sound strange but if what you said that happened up to this point is true than your friend is in a little coma."

"How come?" Bonnie asked.

"Well....... He was eating a little faster than he should be and got hit in the stomach by two attacks. His stomach is probably still recovering from the attacks and the food it was taking in disrupted the proses and caused his whole body to go into shock."

"What?" Serena said in shock.

"I know it sounds strange but that is the only thing I can think of" Nurse Joy said.

"Will he be ok?" Serena said.

"Hmmmm" she said looking over Ash. "I'm sure he will be ok, he should be awake by morning. His body just needs some time to recover and relax" she said.

"I understand, thank you for coming" Clemont said

"No problem, but you know I'm a nurse for Pokémon not people" she said.

"We know thanks anyways" With that Nurse Joy left the room leaving Serena, Clemont, Bonnie, and Pikachu in the room. They spend about another half an hour in the room before Bonnie's eyes were starting to get heavy as she gave a big yawn.

"Hey Serena, it's getting late I'm going to put Bonnie to bed." Clemont said. Then got up and started to walk Bonnie to their room. "Are you coming?"

"Errr..... later" she said. "I'm going to stay with Ash for a bit longer."

"Ok. Don't be too long" Clemont said as he and Bonnie left the room.

Serena stayed with Ash for another hour and had no intention of leaving him. Pikachu was already all curled up asleep as Ash's feet. She took out her Fennekin so she would have some company and she needed someone to talk to. She was staring at him, he looked so peaceful.

"Oh Fennekin, how could something like this happen to him?" she said.

"Fenn....." she said giving some sympathy for her trainer.

She then was starting to think of all the things Ash had done ever since they started their journey. She was also though about his kindness, his bravery, his never give up attitude, but most of all........ his smile.

*Sigh* "Why can't I just tell him how I feel? Why am I so afraid?" she said. Without even thinking, she leaned her face closer to his face. She closed her eyes and let her emotions take over. Her face where inches away from Ash's. When she open her eyes she saw that her lips where toughing Ash's lips. She quickly withdrew as her face was completely red from what she just did.

Fennekin's eyes widen as she saw what her trainer just did. Did she just...... woe!

Serena just stood there, processing what she just did. She just kissed Ash Ketchum.

"Fennekin........ what have I done?"

So........ Serena just kissed Ash..................WWWWWHHHHHHHAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTT.

I was planning on doing this chapter for a while and I was glad I finally got it done.

Anyways, for what is in the box Ash got from Aubrey. You will have to wait for the next chapter of two to find out.

Sorry for the late update but school have kelp me busy.

Next chapter will be the gym battle so get ready for that.
