Nineteen

The next day, Zhang Hao gets to school and ends up bumping into Jiwoong when he's about to go to his locker. "Oh, good morning." Jiwoong waves and smiles at him.

"Good morning." Zhang Hao smiles back.

"So... about what happened yesterday... what's going on with you and Hanbin?" He whispers. "He didn't want to tell us anything."

"Oh, nothing's going on." Zhang Hao shakes his head. "What you saw... just happened somehow. We don't like each other or anything, if that's what you're asking."

"Really? You just kiss people for no reason?"

"No, no. That's not what I meant."

"Don't worry, Hao." Jiwoong smiles at him. "I was just messing with you. I'm glad your experience in this school is going well. It seems like you have really caring friends now and maybe a future boyfriend?"

"No, I'm not-" Zhang Hao starts, about to tell him he wouldn't date Hanbin, but why should he even explain himself? "By the way, I've been meaning to ask you this... Could you please not tell anyone about what happened in my old school? I don't want anyone to know I was bullied." He whispers.

"Don't worry about it, I haven't told anyone and I wasn't meaning to."

"Thank you. Everything is just going so well here... I'm a little scared peoples opinions of me would change if they knew what happened in my old school."

"I don't think you should worry about that. I'm in the student council with Gunwook and he's really understanding. He absolutely hates bullies. If you told him, he'd probably go beat them up for you. He may seem like he doesn't choose violence as an answer, but he'd do anything for his friends. I don't know your other two friends, but if they're friends with Gunwook, it means they're on the good list too... And Hanbin organizes a lot of meetings to stand up against bullying, so what I'm trying to tell you is... they wouldn't judge you for that. But still, if you don't want to tell them, I completely understand."

"Yeah, I know. They do seem like good people..." Zhang Hao nods. "But that's not the reason... it's just... embarrassing."

"Wow, I can't believe you really sent him to the hospital, Chanwoo." They hear someone behind them. Jiwoong quickly pulls Zhang Hao to the side so they can hide.

"What's happening?" Zhang Hao whispers, being clueless as to what's happening. He turns to see who was the one talking and sees Matthew's stalker with his friends.

"Yeah, Hanbin wasn't supposed to be the one to drink it. How stupid. He ruined my plan. It seemed like everything would go perfectly when Jiwoong left his cup on the table. I could've gotten rid of him that day." He tells them. "I might just have to try again somehow. That bastard Jiwoong embarrassed me and I won't let this slide... But anyway, let me go find Matthew. I haven't seen him since that day and I miss him. He'll fall for me eventually once Jiwoong is out of the picture."

Jiwoong's hands turn to fists as he's about to walk towards them, but Zhang Hao stops him. "You're going to get in trouble if you do something." He whispers. "I think you should go to the police. He really wants to get rid of you."

"Not now." Jiwoong shakes his head. "This guy is sick. I'm going to go find Matthew." He takes his phone out and walks the other way so they won't see him.

Zhang Hao can't believe what he just heard. So Hanbin was right after all? It really was this guy? Zhang Hao's hands turn to fists as he sees him laughing with his friends. Hanbin could've died because of him. After debating on whether to do it or not, Zhang Hao takes his phone and opens the social media app.

"Did you get to see Matthew?" Chanwoo's friends ask him as they're walking.

"No, he was with that bastard all day. He was never alone, so I didn't get the chance to go up to him."

"Wow, you really have to get rid of him soon. He's ruining all your plans."

"Yeah, I will." Chanwoo nods. "And whether Matthew likes it or not, he'll be mine."

"Well, we'll see you tomorrow at school."

"Yeah, okay." Chanwoo nods and walks the other way since that's where his house is.

He never usually feels this way, but he starts feeling scared, as if someone's following him. It's already pretty dark and some of the street lamps on his way home don't work anymore. He starts walking faster as he can hear footsteps behind him.

"What the hell do you want?!" He yells and turns around, but doesn't see anyone. He turns back around and feels someone punch him in the face. "What's wrong with you, you bastard?" He looks up and sees someone wearing all black. They have a hat and face mask, so he's not able to tell who it is. "Who are you?!" He yells at him, but with another strong punch, he gets knocked out.
