Eighteen

"How did he even get into your house though? You didn't invite him, right?"

"No, but I guess the security really wasn't doing their job. I told them to only let in the people with invitations." Hanbin tells him. "By the way... just now, your name wasn't on the list because my parents gave that list to the bodyguards. It wasn't me. My parents don't know know we're friends yet, so they just wrote the members of F4 and Matthew."

"Oh, that's okay. Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you're doing better." Zhang Hao tells him. "I brought you some snacks."

"Thank you, Hao." Hanbin takes the bag from him and puts it down on the table next to him. "But I didn't know you were the type to skip school."

"Oh, I'm not." Zhang Hao shakes his head. "I don't usually skip."

"Then that means you really were so worried about me. It feels good to have such caring friends."

"Did you tell your friends about this, by the way? About who you suspect?"

"Not yet." Hanbin shakes his head. "I suspect it was him, but it's not like I'm 100% sure. I don't just want to go around pointing fingers when I'm not sure about it. Plus, Jiwoong would probably beat him up again and actually get expelled this time."

"But what are you going to do? If it really was him, he deserves a punishment."

"Yeah, I'll talk to my dad about it." Hanbin nods. "I don't know why he even let him go with no punishment when he was bothering Matthew."

"Not to be nosy or anything, but... are you close with your parents?" Zhang Hao asks him. "They didn't go to the hospital."

"They were just busy." Hanbin tells him. "My mom is on a business trip at the moment and my dad just didn't hear his phone. He went to the hospital after you left."

"Oh, okay." Zhang Hao just nods. "Have you eaten anything?"

"Not yet." Hanbin shakes his head. "I really didn't feel like getting up and cooking. I still feel a little weak."

"What? Don't you have maids or something? I thought rich people had them."

"We do, but it was their week off. I didn't want to bother them by telling them to come in. I thought I'd be fine and just cook by myself, but... I'm not feeling too well yet."

"Oh, I can cook something for you." Zhang Hao immediately stands up.

"Oh no, you don't have to-"

"Are we not friends now? Friends should be there for each other. I'll cook something for you." Zhang Hao walks towards the kitchen and Hanbin stays seated in the living room as Zhang Hao starts cooking.

-

"Wow, that was delicious." Hanbin tells Zhang Hao after they finish eating. "I'm really bad at cooking. Could you teach me sometime?"

"Yeah, of course. Just let me know and I'll come teach you."

"Well, since you cooked, I'll wash the dishes."

"Are you feeling better, though?"

"Yeah, I am. I feel way better now that I ate." Hanbin nods and picks up the dishes before putting them in the sink. "Thank you for the meal."

"Yeah, no problem."

After washing the dishes, they go back to the living room and Hanbin turns the tv on. For some reason, Zhang Hao keeps glancing at him to make sure he's okay. Hanbin notices and turns to face him.

"I'm really okay now."

"What? I didn't say anything." Zhang Hao looks away from him and looks at the tv.

"It's okay to admit you've been worried about me."

Zhang Hao stays quiet for a few seconds before answering. "Yeah... I guess I was worried." He admits.

"By the way, I don't want to be nosy either, but... when I first met you, you had bruises on your face. What was that about?"

Zhang Hao stays frozen, remembering everything he went through before switching schools.

"Hao?"

"Oh, I just... fell." Is the only excuse he can come up with. "I know a lot of people lie about that, but I'm serious. I'm really clumsy and fell."

"Is that really what happened?"

"Yeah, it's just that." Zhang Hao nods. He doesn't want anyone in this school to know he was bullied. He's been meaning to talk to Jiwoong about it... to ask him not to say anything. "But I guess you worry about me too."

"Yeah, of course." Hanbin nods. "By the way, we're friends now. Why don't we take a picture together?"

"Now?" Zhang Hao asks and Hanbin nods. "Okay." Hanbin stands up to get his polaroid camera, then sits down and moves closer to Hao before taking a picture.

"Another one." Hanbin tells him and they pose for another picture. "Okay, here. You keep one and I'll keep the other." He hands Zhang Hao the polaroid.

"It came out nice." Zhang Hao looks down at it and can't help but smile. He turns to Hanbin, not realizing he was already facing him and was really close to him.

Zhang Hao stays frozen as he notices Hanbin looking down at his lips, then back at his eyes. Zhang Hao can't move for a few seconds, but eventually, his eyes go down to Hanbin's lips as well. They both start to slowly lean in until they feel their lips on top of each others.

"Hanbin! We're here! We brought you pizza!" Gyuvin yells as he, Yujin, Matthew, and Jiwoong come into the house, seeing them kissing. Gyuvin quickly covers Yujin's eyes as they all stare at them in shock.
