At First Sight - Part 2

Jonah goes over to Cyrus' house for the sleepover and they find out more about one another. Told from a single POV.

Jonah POV

This was going to be Docious! I was going for a sleepover at Cyrus' house. I know I'd only properly introduced myself a few hours before, but I felt like we were meant to be friends. He seemed like a really good guy.

I had seen him watch me play Frisbee and he was so nervous. I thought it was sweet, but it did make me wonder if he liked me. I don't like to assume, so I would wait to get confirmation from him.

As we walked to his house, I saw him occasionally glance over at me. He was shaking a little, so I put my jacket around him.

Me: Here you go.

Cyrus: It's okay Jonah.

Me: Cyrus, I insist.

Cyrus: In that case, I'll wear it.

I saw him smile, which made me feel a bit more relaxed. I had never met another guy who was this gentle and kind before.

Me: Look Cy-guy, you don't need to try to impress me.

Cyrus: Okay Jo... JoJo!

Me: I like it, always call me that.

Cyrus: I will.

Me: And you okay if I call you Cy-guy?

Cyrus: Yes JoJo, I like that nickname.

We arrived at his house and I was greeted by his parents. I didn't know what to say exactly, so I just followed Cyrus.

Cyrus: Hey.

Mr Goodman: Hey son, who is this?

Cyrus: This is my friend Jonah.

Mrs Goodman: Nice to meet you.

Me: Thank you, you too!

Mr Goodman: So, tell me a bit about yourself.

Me: I play Ultimate Frisbee at school, I'm the captain. I also enjoy music and other sports.

Cyrus: Also I forgot to ask, is it okay if he sleeps over tonight?

Mrs Goodman: Has he asked his parents?

Me: Yes they said it was okay.

Mr Goodman: In that case, yes that's fine, seeing as you'll probably be my son-in-law one day!

Cyrus: Dad!

Me: Uh...

Cyrus: Come on, let's go to my room.

Mrs Goodman: Okay, have fun boys.

Cyrus took me up to his bedroom, and I was amazed to see all of the things he had inside. He had an Xbox, about 100 movies and a computer, as well as multiple film posters on his bedroom walls.

Me: Wow, you have a great bedroom.

Cyrus: Oh, thank you.

I had to address something that kept playing in my mind. I figured that it would be better to get it out of the way early.

Me: What did your dad mean by future son-in-law?

Cyrus: Um... Well the thing is... I'm gay JoJo.

I'll admit, I wasn't expecting him to just blurt it out, but I'm glad he did. I was intrigued by Cyrus and hoped I could find out more.

Me: Oh, that's cool dude.

Cyrus: And he assumes that you are my boyfriend.

Me: Does he now?

Cyrus: Yes, I'm sorry if that makes you feel uncomfortable.

Me: Hey, it's okay.

Cyrus: R-really?

Me: Yes it's fine.

I noticed that here was finally a honest smile on Cyrus' face. It was nice to see him relax and not be so nervous around me.

Cyrus: JoJo?

Me: Yes Cy-guy.

Cyrus: I know we only just started talking today, but I'm fascinated by you.

Me: Are you really?

Cyrus: Yes and I really like you.

I felt so happy at the moment, and I had realised that I liked Cyrus too. However, the fear on his face was evident, so I had to clear things up.

Me: I'm really pleased.

Cyrus: You are?

Me: Cy-guy, this is the time to tell you that I like you too.

Cyrus: But... you...

Me: I'm bisexual, I like both guys and girls.

I imagine the feeling of relief I now experience was similar to what Cyrus felt when he told me he was gay.

Cyrus: Thank you for telling me.

Me: That's okay, it's all Docious Magocious!

Cyrus: So, does that mean that we could go out?

Me: It definitely does, and I would love to be with you.

Cyrus: C-cool! Boyfriend?

Me: Boyfriend!

I gave Cyrus a hug and it felt warm and happy. I could tell that he enjoyed it because he relaxed in my arms, and he had stopped shaking. If Cyrus is going to be my boyfriend, then I would make sure I was the best boyfriend I could be.
